So, a playthrough in Fallout: New Vegas took me about 140 hours, doing every side quest that I could, collecting a majority of the unique weapons and armour, and all of the DLCs
Took me 400 and something to fully mod the hell out of the game and complete, collect, talk to anyone and everything. After the game hit it's limit on mods I couldn't even play without lag popping up every sec.
I don't know if I'm late, but it seems Bethesda has been running some limited time Fallout t-shirts. There's a new one every month and they are all related to Vault Boy; This month (it'll only be available until the 9th) it's the "Rad absorption" perk, and it even glows in the dark! and it even glows in the dark! [img_thumb]http://store.bethsoft.com/media/catalog/product/cache/23/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/t/e/tee-fo-vbotm-radioactive-front.jpg[/img_thumb]
I'm grabbing one as soon as i can, that's both neat as hell, and something i can wear in public, i'm probably going to get a BoS shirt as well.
I didn't feel like playing anything and I had shit downloading anyway, so I thought I'd download all of the new mods I want and the old ones that I had before for my next New Vegas playthrough - a few have bugged out somehow, so instead of trying to figure what all is fucked I'm just downloading everything. I forgot how fucking tedious this is. I haven't even gotten to the install part yet.
I'm thinking of doing a Unarmed/Energy weapons playthrough, and get 10 Luck so I can get some of the gambling achievements out of the way
Is there anyway to end the conflict between the NCR and the BOS pacifically? And to get archimedes II without angering both?
Is there anyway to end the conflict between the NCR and the BOS pacifically? And to get archimedes II without angering both?
For the first part, yes. Do all of the BoS quests without running into New Vegas and you can gain their trust. Once you're a member of them and complete the quest line you can ask for a peaceful solution to their issues and they'll oblige. Then run back to New Vegas and do the same thing with Crocker, (no quest line to complete, just ask him for peace). As for the second part; I don't know.

Sorry, you're right. It's been a while since I did the questline and forgot that detail.
Not sure which to do first. Make the first kill on a couple of weapons, do Cass's quest (which may lock me out of some items and make others extremely hard to get copies of for archiving), or do the last little bit of the BoS quest.
I was asking for a little input on this...
I was asking for a little input on this...
Do some BOS quests so you can get Power armor training.
Today, the Brotherhood of Steel murdered me: The Hero of the Wasteland, the Knight of the Brotherhood; for turning on a radio.
Today, the Brotherhood of Steel murdered me: The Hero of the Wasteland, the Knight of the Brotherhood; for turning on a radio.
Well maybe they didn't feel like listening to your shitty taste in music. What if they were having a bad day and they all had headaches? Plus your Pip-Boy 3000 has a radio on it. If you ask me you deserved to die, you inconsiderate monster.
Started a new character in FO3, haven't played for a long time and I never finished the game. Basically my charisma is as low as it can be, Perception is maxed and Intelligence is on 9, the rest is average at 4-6. I've got Energy Weapons, Lockpick and Repair are my primary skill, I'm also putting points into Medicine and Science and a bit in Explosives. I wanted to try something new but not super crazy, instead of going a standard boring "AGI/CHAR, Small Guns+Speech+Medicine"-type or similar-type character.
My standard character in the 3D Fallouts has always been max INT and STR (other stats are pretty much irrelevant except maybe Luck) and tag skills as Speech, Small Guns and whatever fits the theme of the game more (Repair for FO3 usually, Survival for NV). In Fallout 1 and 2 I made a lot more varied characters although I still tended to tag Speech.
I have picked up a collection with Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics that I want to play at some point but we'll see if I get through Fallout 3 first... and if I do I'm probably gonna play New Vegas after that before I dive into the old ones.
Honestly I think it'd be better to play 1 and 2 before NV. NV references them a lot.

I tag Small Guns, Sneak and either Medicine or Repair. New Vegas I go 9 INT with the rest of the points split between LCK and AGL. I usually tag Guns, Science and Repair (Survival on Hardcore).
Every time I made a new character in Fallout 3, I tagged Small Guns and Repair, because those feel like basic combat skills. Small Guns are used by everyone, and it feels like all of my weapons would just go to shit without Repair.

Speech was useless in Fallout 3 because of the , and all others was mostly just starting-convenience. In NV, you cold reliably use speech, and repair was a lot easier (and made more sense) with jury rigging.
You arrogant son of a bitch. :v: If you ever feel like playing as Blondie instead, there's a really kickass Man With No Name pack somewhere on the Nexus. Has the poncho and everythin'
My character in Fallout New Vegas is pretty much always Clint Eastwood, and it's friggin epic with the clint's fistful revolver from the man with no name pack oh yeah
I wear and use cowboy stuff once I've got myself together and in the Nevada desert area, and wear fancy stuff when around New Vegas.

Didn't win the speech check? Load a save and start over. NV does it much more better because they're treated more as milestones you have to achieve to succeed in.
It's not like it'll be any easier after you've finished the newer games
I'm not even sure I can finnish the newer games, but it's more likely than the older, so I'll try the most likely first. I haven't finished a single-player game since Black Ops and Fable 3 came out. And it is more likely after I've finished the new games because then my interest in the Fallout universe and story will probably be bigger. And that's what I'd mostly play the older games for.

And believe me, you are definitely not too young to be getting into older RPGs. I was probably a bit under 2 years old when the first Fallout released, first played the games in 2008 or 2009, and I became a big fan of them nonetheless.
I never played the originals for long, but I had loads of fun for weeks playing Fonline with Facepunchers.

If you had no speech you could always just do the super easy quick save quick reload cheat untill you got it. I wouldn't even see that "cheat" as something wrong because even if you had enough speech and got a 95% chance for an option and you still fail you just feel cheated.
Huh, never gotten an orange screen of death before...
