The gameplay in 1 and 2 can be a bit tedious at times, but as long as you remember to save regularly, crank both the animation speed slides to the max and aim for the eyes, you should be fine.
And believe me, you are definitely not too young to be getting into older RPGs. I was probably a bit under 2 years old when the first Fallout released, first played the games in 2008 or 2009, and I became a big fan of them nonetheless.
Thanks you're probably right, I just get bored with every game these days, so less likely I'll get bored with something new than something old.

Completely unrelated to your post but I'm quoting you to get your attention since you haven't been on Steam for like 2 days.
Pick a sprite from here http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Fallout_character_models or here http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Fallout_2_character_models to represent Tom for the PnP. Edit it or not, up to you.
Also if you'd be so kind as to - assuming you haven't already - rebalance Barkley's OP as fuck special throws and the poison and acids that'd be really nice.

I'm out of town ATM, but I'll try to get some free time and work on the barkley rebalance and the sprite stuff tomorrow
Also not sure if I'll make it this Saturday so if I'm not on just find someone to sub for me
Is there a specific period of time between giving Veronica a dress and her teaching you the scribe counter ability (like a day or a single instance of fast travel)? The wiki was a little unclear about that.

Everything is terrible. Wing hasn't been on for 6 days, so I don't know if he'll show up or not, and I sure as hell don't want to do a game with Jensen being one of the 3 minimum number of players. Plus I made this entire next session around all of you being there.
God dammit.

Should have been instant, but the quest is glitched. If you have triggered any of the dialogue for her quest i.e. she makes a comment and then says somethnig about the Brotherhood when you next talk to her, a glitch takes affect where the perk isn't added correctly. Or maybe it did, check your perk list on your PIP-boy. If it's not there, just add it with the console if you're on the PC.
Actually, what I think happens is that she won't trigger her dress dialogue after you give a dress to her until you search something else, like a corpse or a container.

So just call it and do it next week? My gaming group(s) have these problems occasionally, just missing one game isn't a big deal.

That's probably what I'll end up doing. Just a little annoyed is all.
I really like how TTW puts the flaws and strengths of both games into immediate perspective.
For instance, getting Charon as a follower reminded me how insanely naggy the FO3 NPC's are. When I swing a melee weapon into thin air, he says "watch where you swing that thing", and if I bump into any physics object he'll tell me to be more careful.
Also he keeps using that fucking terrible FO3 taunt "What's the matter, huh? Can't stand the sight of your own blood?".
i have over 1000 .45 auto rounds and over 5000 .45 surplus
looks like i dont need any more ammo ever
What Luck related perks are there in New Vegas?
What Luck related perks are there in New Vegas?
Fortune Finder, Scrounger, Miss Fortune, Mysterious Stranger, Better Criticals and Junk Rounds (Dead Money) are all the perks that have Luck requirements, if that's what you're asking.
better criticals is ok but does anyone need moar caps more ammo mo money in vegas?
My character in Fallout New Vegas is pretty much always Clint Eastwood, and it's friggin epic
with the clint's fistful revolver from the man with no name pack

Did you ever yell at a chair?
Well maybe they didn't feel like listening to your shitty taste in music. What if they were having a bad day and they all had headaches? Plus your Pip-Boy 3000 has a radio on it.
If you ask me you deserved to die, you inconsiderate monster.
Yes, maybe you're right. I am a monster. I should've stayed in that Vault.
The big problem with speech in Fo3 was that it promoted save scumming. Didn't win the speech check? Load a save and start over.
I'm afraid I did that a lot.
i'm of the opinion that if you dont have the required speech check in NV, you wont make the check
ie. even if you're 49/50 for a speech check theres a zero chance you will be successful
this wasnt the case in FO3?

fallout 3 had a stupid ass percentage system that meant you could still fail speech checks even if your speech was 100. it also meant that no matter how low your speech was, there was atleast a single percentage, meaning that you could pass any speech check with enough patience

What the fuck are you doing having any follower that isn't fawkes
In FO3 I don't use followers at all, even if I accidentally find Dogmeat I just leave him in my house.
In NV the followers actually have interesting storylines and quests so I tend to do those and then park them in the Lucky 38.

Stop making me regret my purchase of Fallout 3!

Don't worry, man, I'm like 90% sure I'll make it, just wanted to warn ya so you don't go all "man fuck that unreliable bastard" in case some freak accident happens and I miss the game
Also, send Wing a PM and see what's up maybe?

Doesn't help if he hasn't logged into FP for the same amount of time he hasn't been on Steam.
Eh, either he shows or he doesn't. If he doesn't then your life in the PnP will be a little harder for a short while :v:
So last night my computer broke, the same day that I started playing through Fallout 3, fucking great.
In any case I'm now trying to install Fallout 2 on my computer but I'm having the rainbow colour glitch because I'm running windows 7, and neither the official 1.02 patch nor the unofficial patch wants to install.
[editline]9th August 2013[/editline]
Eh, got the game patched and installed the high res patch. Worked fine untill I changed the colour depth to fix the colour issues, now it just freezes with the loading screen at boot up of the game and I can't get any further.
Replaying fallout 3 right now and it crashes every 20 minutes.
Also if you do Mothership Zeta first and specialize in energy weapons you rape everything.

When I installed a week or two ago I used the restoration project that already includes res patch and sfall so it was completely painless. I don't know if you're using sfall as well but if you are make sure to set the graphics mode in ddraw.ini (mode 4 for dx9 fullscreen) and in f2_res.ini keep at 8 bits and graphics mode 0 so it doesn't conflict with sfall.
Not using sfall at all actually.
[editline]9th August 2013[/editline]
guess I'll look this restoration project thing up later
I wish you could change your body size in New Vegas
I wish you could change your body size in New Vegas
player.setscale 0.9 is what I usually enter on females. Doesn't change the proportions or anything but it does change their overall size.

I have no ddraw.inl file in my fallout 2 folder though.
