I updated it if thats what you mean. Is there a community patch or something?
Nah, just wondering cause the official patches do fix a lot of bugs and issues.
Anybody else NV on an old computer/laptop? What are your specs?
I finished Honest Hearts. So, i end up in Zion, Kill every tribal at the start. Then make a straight beeline to the Tribal camp , kill everyone there, take the map, go home. It took me less than an hour. Did i do something wrong? I'm serious, tell me.
Yes, yes you did. You ignored 98% of the DLC.
Gun Runners have 8000 caps reserve, so if you sell one gold bar (depending on your barter skill) you'll need to buy a gun or some ammo or something to make it so that you're not bankrupting them and allow the transaction to go through.
Transaction will still go through, you'll just lose the difference between the value of what you're selling and their cap balance. It only refuses to go through if you're the one that's short money.
Or you have things to do in the post-apocalypse, running around and doing this or that while knowing that you're going to die. Perhaps you're a government agent going around and destroying sensitive data or assassinating remaining "traitors" or something?
Something like that, though the latter kinda goes against the whole "The player creates their own destiny" mindset that most Fallout games are made from. It would make a great linear HL2-style FPS spinoff, though.
Above all else, I just want the next Fallout to have an actual flashlight. Either that or borrow from Metro Last Light and give us the option to restore a building's power or set up a circuit of our own. Fumbling around the dark with the equivalent of a glow stick made exploring a chore.
http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/39968/ Enjoy!
What are your specs?
I know I shouldn't really even attempt to, but I'm away from my desktop atm.
RAM: 2gb CPU: Core 2 Duo 1.6GHz GPU: ATi Radeon x2300 Display Memory: 894 MB Dedicated Memory: 127 MB Shared Memory: 767 MB
I remember playing Fallout 3 on my laptop like 4 years ago. I could render shit like 5 metres in front of me and the laptop burned my hands after about 30 minutes.

Well I'm going to do a low intelligence Fallout 2 run. Wish me luck
So far the biggest challenge in Lonesome Road has been inventory management. I brought A LOT of supplies with me...
Well I'm going to do a low intelligence Fallout 2 run. Wish me luck
Expect to get killed alot and miss out on 90% of quests, also you'll never reach 200% on any skill within your lifetime.
The legendary bloatfly is a bitch.
I followed that guide. [t]http://i.imgur.com/QW17Wx2.png?1[/t] Don't need to mention I will try again. Was hoping somebody had already done this and had an optimum .ini I could steal.
These two mods might help: Mission Mojave - Ultimate Edition -Your obligatory community patch mod. It could help clean up some minor errors and such that could marginally help performance. Performance Of The Gods -Removes certain props and effects from the game that are aesthetic only. The reduced number of objects on-screen should help your performance quite a bit. [editline]13th August 2013[/editline] Nearly forgot about this: Optimizer TexturesThis is the Skyrim Nexus but -this tool is compatible with Fallout 3, and NV because the game engine is the same. This tool will optimize textures for you, helping you save VRAM and helping to increase performance. Be sure to read the documentation carefully. This is a file that I only found after a Google search. I have not tested it, but it's worth a shot anyway. Fallout New Vegas Optimized -This is a config pack for New Vegas. They configs come in several presets, each one helping you achieve better performance by using commands not readily apparent. Finally, to make sure that you're actually getting better FPS, FRAPS free version has a built in and unlimited benchmarking tool. Stand still in a spot or two, create saves there, wait for 30 seconds after loading, and let the benchmark run for about a minute. Then you can look at your average framerate to see if you're actually getting better performance. [editline]13th August 2013[/editline] Also BOSS will put your mods in the correct order for you. Ignore the fact that it says Oblivion; like Optimizer Textures, this will work because the Skyrim, Fallout 3 & NV, and Oblivion engines are the same.

The link I have quoted isn't currently available but I'll make use of the rest.
The legendary bloatfly is a bitch.
Isn't that like the hardest enemy in the game?
It is if you've got PN. Fucking health cap is killing me. With Med-X & Slasher going, combined with my 35% DR and 39 DT, I get ridiculous damage absorption. With Buffout and the Sierra Madre Martini I get 3 hits before it kills me. If I had some Turbo I might have an easier time of it, but as it is I'm relying on my chems and ability to spaz the fuck out to avoid its attacks. Also it somehow managed to cripple my head. I don't understand that. [editline]14th August 2013[/editline] According to the wiki, it's just considered 'one of' the most difficult enemies in the game. I had an easier time of fighting the fucking deathclaws in Quarry Junction.
When i run into that sort of thing i take all the drugs i have and charge in, it usually does the trick.
deathclaws was easy if you had the .50 cal and climbed the draglines (because they cant follow you up)
Something tells me you've never fought the legendary bloatfly. Or the legendary deathclaw. And especially not with 140 max HP.
The health cap in PN was never really an issue for me because the anti materiel rifle could deal with everything. If for some reason it couldn't you could always mine up the entire area with satchels or C4.
deathclaws was easy if you had the .50 cal and climbed the draglines (because they cant follow you up)
I'm using Signature Weapons, and my weapon is the Q-35 Matter Modulator. Which means sniping isn't really feasible. I also have a shit ton of robots via RobCo Certified. Which make up for the health and my - up until recently - shitty fighting ability. I tried to sneak around - with my incredible 17 sneak skill - the quarry to get just the main deathclaws I needed. The alpha and matriarch both oneshot anyone they hit. With the alpha I literally killed it right as it leapt on top of me to kill me.
Unless otherwise stated or through lucky happenstance if I happen to get wifi at game time, the PnP this week is canceled because I am going away for the weekend. I'll be back next week and we can play again then. If there are any prime times you'd be available for PnP during the following week (seeing as we haven't played for 2-3 weeks), let me know.
Thanks for telling me i fucked up, all. Seriously, good to know i can at least try again and get a better experience out of it. For some reason, i always preferred Dr. Mobius as my favorite character. "2+2 equals 4-bidden, dummies!-Dr. Mobius (Paraphrased)
I used the Optimizer textures thing to beat my LOD textures to the lowest possible resolution and it gave me like 30 more fps.
If I want to get Fallout 3 off of steam, is the only difference between the regular version and GOTY version is the DLCs? The regular version is only 10 bucks.
If I want to get Fallout 3 off of steam, is the only difference between the regular version and GOTY version is the DLCs? The regular version is only 10 bucks.
Yes. The GOTY edition has all the DLC. Which, in my opinion, is worth the extra $10.
Replaying the DLCs for the second time I really love all the hints and forgotten clues that all lead to the final DLC. Especially Old World Blues is filled with them, which makes sense since it is the crossroad of the story.
Dead Money man I swear, I usually get through everything all right but the one thing I can never get past without dying 100 times is the Gala Event, I have to run back to the main gate with 7 HP, a crippled: Head, arm, and both legs. No doctor bags or stimpaks. One hit from ANYTHING is death, and I can't even bother trying to outrun them, since I'm basically limping, and I can't zig zag because I'll end up stepping on a bear trap.
I forgot how much Fallout 3 always kicks my ass in the beginning. Not complaining though. I like the feeling that I'm just barely getting by with whatever I can find, which I know will be a stark contrast to what comes later.
