I've decided to make a character that is almost even all the way through on main stats, with 10 AG, 9 INT, and 8 L in FO2, who will be specializing in burst weapons. Also, one major question, is it normal to find a P90C that uses 9mm ammo instead of 10mm in Vault 15? This was during a playthrough in the vanilla, unmodified game. It was the only one i found too.
It's a bug, it can only be loaded with 10mm ammo once empty.
It's a bug, it can only be loaded with 10mm ammo once empty.
Sure about that? i unloaded it, sold the 9mm ammo and tried loading it with 10mm, and it wouldn't accept it.
Went third person and learned im skilled with straight razors..
Some black face and that shave and then I'll be a real OG!
It is if you've got PN. Fucking health cap is killing me. With Med-X & Slasher going, combined with my 35% DR and 39 DT, I get ridiculous damage absorption. With Buffout and the Sierra Madre Martini I get 3 hits before it kills me. If I had some Turbo I might have an easier time of it, but as it is I'm relying on my chems and ability to spaz the fuck out to avoid its attacks. Also it somehow managed to cripple my head. I don't understand that. [editline]14th August 2013[/editline] According to the wiki, it's just considered 'one of' the most difficult enemies in the game. I had an easier time of fighting the fucking deathclaws in Quarry Junction.
Go to the Deathclaw Promontory and pick up the rail cannon that PN puts out there next to the vanilla Remnant's armor. You need a maxed EW skill and 8 STR to use it if I remember correctly, but it hits like a truck. I can one-shot Overlords and deathclaw with it without even bothering to aim for the head, so it should make short work of the legendary bloatfly. Oh, and bring an assload of MFCs. It uses ten per shot.
I already have an assload of MFC, - 800+ of GRA Optimized - but I'm in Big MT right now. I found him during my first trip, so by God I'm going to kill him during my first trip. Besides that, I don't have 8 strength and, again, am trying to use my signature weapon. With the upgrades it's got it's actually pretty nasty, it's just I can't survive long enough to deal any significant damage with it. The issue isn't the legendary bloatfly's survivability, it's mine. Although last time I only died because the fucker stunned me by crippling my head. Which, again, I don't understand.
You guys talk about gambling breaking the need for caps, well, I got something even worse. The "Them's Good Eatin'" perk gives you Blood sausages and Thin Red Pastes on half the enemies you kill, and they both go for around 175 caps a pop. Not only that, you'll most likely find multiples on different creatures. And Blood Sausages heal around 300 health per item, thus almost removing the need for stimpacks too.
Dead Money man I swear, I usually get through everything all right but the one thing I can never get past without dying 100 times is the Gala Event, I have to run back to the main gate with 7 HP, a crippled: Head, arm, and both legs. No doctor bags or stimpaks. One hit from ANYTHING is death, and I can't even bother trying to outrun them, since I'm basically limping, and I can't zig zag because I'll end up stepping on a bear trap.
Best way to solve this would need to be done prior to the event. First you'd need the vending machine code for stimpacks from the hospital. On your way to starting the Gala Event you can find the snowglobe, look up the location on the wiki. That'll net 2000 Madre chips instead of 2000 bottle caps. Use them to buy a load of stimpacks. You're essentially sorted for the trek through the ghost people back to the Madre. Worked wonders for me, though I fought the ghost people and won using only the bear trap fist thing, with like 200 stimpacks.
Guys I'm sure you remember the "Owned!" mod for F:3 that un-ticked the ownership flag so you could murder people and own their house and belongings etc. After a bit of searching I had found the F:NV but it causes the game to crash at start up, and isn't on Nexus, and hasn't been updated since 2009 (linky). Does anybody know of an alternate mod, or has a later version they could upload?
Well I just got fallout 2 (steam version) running with the restoration patch using the most convoluted method ever. It basically involved me copy pasting the entire game into my C:\Games and extracting the update files from the f2patch.exe and manually patching it. Then I had to test if it ran so I put it back in my steam folder and after that I had to move it back to C:\games because the Restoration patch refused to install to any place in the program files directory. But its finally running.

I scrounged around for as many chips as I could to make stims and I had enough to survive a hit or three. I managed to find ammo for the Police Pistol."Hollow Point" "Hollow point? Right!! I forgot I had that!" everything else was careful planning. I managed to survive because of criticals. I'm about to enter the vault, I know the whole "Let go " thing but anyway I can manage to get a lot of the bars out? 360 here :/

I went to the Den at level 4 from doing all quests in Klamath and Arroyo and killing all the geckos, as well as getting decent gear from skinning them.
So once I build my new computer I'll be getting back to NV. I was thinking about playing the professional assassin Agent 47-like style type. What are some mods that involve cool perks and realistic combat?

Just move the fallout folder out of program files, run the RP installer, move the folder back. RP installs the unofficial patch as part of the package.

I fucking hated Dead Money.
Old World Blues and Lonesome Road were awesome, and even Honest Hearts had a nice little backstory. And at least Dead Money had a well done story with interesting characters. To me, the DLC's felt like integral parts of the game's lore, and plus they were $5 each.
Dead Money had an incredible story, although the gameplay was infuriating in some places. It was overall very enjoyable. Honest Hearts' story was okay, the exploration was decent, the combat was the same NV I'd played before. Overall it was average at best, for me. The big thing with it was the ranger's story; that I really enjoyed. I haven't gotten through all of OWB yet, but I'm already enjoying it tremendously. The story so far doesn't seem especially impressive, but the characters are hilarious. The whole feel of it so far is great. The legendary bloatfy is still a bitch.
In my opinion the only DLC worth playing was Old World Blues. Even Lonesome Road was boring to me. Then again that was during my non-lethal run so I basically just ran through the entire DLC without pausing for anything.
I think part of my enjoyment of OWB comes from James Urbaniak playing one of the primary characters. Every time I hear him make a comment, I think about Dr. Venture. It doesn't help he uses mostly the same voice for the OWB character.
I remember a spiritual sequel of sorts making it onto the hot files of the NV nexus, but I can't remember the name.
Anyone else maybe know which one he is talking about? I feel a bit stupid as I have literally searched for hours now, I just can't find it.

You could find a stealth boy somewhere out in the Villa, I think, but I don't know where. Apparently a 1% chance of finding it in one of Dean's secret stashes. It's bloody awkward. You need to lure Elijah down to the Vault with speech checks, convince him you've no interest in the gold, steal it and try to sneak out before he shows up.
I don't see how people have so much trouble with Dead Money, in the end the only hard parts were that gauntlet of speakers in the ending vault and getting the golden good-guy ending. You really need a sharp eye or quick reflexs for the speakers.
FO2RP is such a gigantic pain in the ass with Kaga always fucking up my travels. I keep running into him while i try to find the raider's base, and one of his cronies instakills me with an SMG burst every time.

Any possible workarounds for the glitch that occurs at the end of ED-E my love where his laser no longer functions and he's stuck using his zap melee attack? I'm guessing I might have to reload an earlier save before I gave him to the followers but I'm hesitant to do so because I don't want to loose any progress.
Despite already hearing that "Silly Ol' Advisory", I drank over 74 bottles of Sunset Sarsaparilla in one sitting. I got very few star bottle caps in the process.
