are you guys breaking the bank in dead money? ie. get prewar money, go back to NV and trade for caps supposely 70,000 worth
I use pre-war money whenever I see that a merchant has more than 500 caps on hand so that I can clean them out. Gun Runners are the best because they replenish their stock of everything regularly.
are you guys breaking the bank in dead money? ie. get prewar money, go back to NV and trade for caps supposely 70,000 worth
I just got all 37 bars of gold out 70k is smalltime
Am I the only one that actually liked Myron?
He's funny as hell if your character is Female and has high Charisma.
I just got all 37 bars of gold out 70k is smalltime
Amazing how ridiculously abundant money becomes late-game
Amazing how ridiculously abundant money becomes late-game
I ran in Lonesome Road in my underwear and left with more than 50K in caps.
I beat the legendary bloatfly. I took one of most of my chems and two of some, plus two True Police Stories. I also consumed like a shit ton of food and soda to try and avoid having to go into my inventory. I used like three doctor's bags and two Hydra, - mostly out of paranoia - plus three stims when my health dropped once. Despite the excessive use of chems and healing items, I'm pretty sure I owe my victory entirely to The Offspring. I started You're Gonna Go Far, Kid on my phone while I waited for a freeze to clear just before I engaged, and I'm fairly certain it's the reason I was barely injured.
I beat the legendary bloatfly by stocking up on explosive .50 MG rounds and using cover + VATS. Nothing special to it, really.
I'm using the Q-35 Matter Modulator and paper-thin armor. Even with the mods I've got to boost both of those, anyone using a hunting rifle with power armor is doing better than me. It's simple to kill anything if you're using an anti-material rifle with 100 guns skill, try doing it with what amounts to a fucking pop gun. This rifle deals nasty damage, but has gotten so outclassed as I've gotten into bigger and bigger shit I'm glad I have robots. Which are mostly just fodder at this point anyway, and especially against the bloatfly.
He's funny as hell if your character is Female and has high Charisma.
Horrifying if you're playing a lady with low intelligence.
I beat the legendary bloatfly by stocking up on explosive .50 MG rounds and using cover + VATS.
It seems like the AP function of higher caliber ammo isn't being applied or something. The .44 loaded with ball ammo does more damage in one shot than the hunting rifle and M1 Garand tend to do in two. I know it has a higher base damage than both of those, but it seems like shooting 7.62 or 30.06 should let me punch through armor a shit load better than .44.
Yeah, that's 'cause neither 7.62 nor 30.06 actually count as AP ammo IIRC. There's a FMJ modifier option that works really well for them but you gotta open the editor and apply it manually.
My worst enemy of Lonesome Road was those fucking satchel charges. beepbeepbeep BLAM! crippled both legs and my torso, every time thanks to Small Frame. I passed up Light Step because I thought "Pft, how blind do you have to be to step on a mine?" but seriously, I swear those things are hidden.

Light Step is one of the most useful perks I ever got. I got it because I somehow managed to keep stepping on mines everywhere. Unfortunately, this also meant that I wouldn't notice traps when I stepped on them, so my companions would get hurt by them instead.
I love the Q-35 but it's too inaccurate for my tastes.
If you have Project Nevada installed, then accuracy becomes a nonissue with charged shots.
Faction armour can influence what duster you get, you need to wear it before you enter the room to confront Ulysses. You get the usual "Are you sure you want to continue?" message before entering the room so you'll know which. I'm not sure if you need to wear it all the way up to the ending slides though. [editline]19th August 2013[/editline] But a mod that makes it a dialogue choice or something is better if you can use mods.
I have a mod that makes it based on how far along you are in the main quest lines. A particular quest line will reset to zero if you lock yourself out of it (e.g. killing House)
I'm at the point in Honest Hearts where [sp]I have to decide whether to help Daniel get the people out or to help Joshua in slaughtering the White Legs.[/sp] Can someone give me a run-down of which path results in what? i.e. karma gains/losses, storyline effects, etc. Edit: Fixed, I'm dumb

Speaking of pre-war money, how is a form of currency that's been obsolete for 200+ years have more value than present day bottle caps?
I think it's justified in New Vegas because Mr. House still sees value in Pre-war currency. Otherwise it'd probably make for good toilet paper.
Speaking of pre-war money, how is a form of currency that's been obsolete for 200+ years have more value than present day bottle caps?
Keep in mind that it's not single bills, but what look like stacks of several thousand dollars, and it's possible that the NCR could take it, considering that they have their own printed money.
What about Fallout 3 then.
If you have Project Nevada installed, then accuracy becomes a nonissue with charged shots.
Plus with 100 in energy weapons + Steady, it becomes right about pinpoint accurate. Except the whole 'shoots a projectile' issue.

Go in and find all the rifle ammo that should logically penetrate armor and tick the FMJ option. Because the super mutants were just silly hard to do more than tickle, even with an eye shot, except with the .44. And grenades, Jesus fuck but frag grenades are nasty. I use Mother as a scout/ambusher, and if she couldn't get up on a mutant she'd just lob grenades. A nasty one could do like 60+ points.
I just got all 37 bars of gold out 70k is smalltime
prewar money has no weight value, so its basically free caps

After that it's smooth sailin', the editor itself is really newbie friendly Do note that the changes won't apply to the ammo you're currently carrying due to how the game handles stuff, so you're either gonna have to play for a bit with the unchanged stuff or say bye bye to your cache of 7.62
prewar money has no weight value, so its basically free caps
Don't you have to cheat anyway to get all the bars of gold, I remember only being able to bring like 10 at most with all the perks and 10 strength or something and that it specifically had something to do with the DLC's theme about "Letting go" since you can't bring all the bars.
