Yeah, I forgot they won, I just remembered the people talking about Graham being a cold motherfucker. I forgot losing the dam was the reason Caesar had him burned and thrown into the river.
Well, technically speaking, the NCR did lose the dam for a few hours. The rout at boulder city caused the Legion to fall back and let the NCR retake it, winning the battle overall.
Regarding Oliver: I'd say he's worthy of one star at most. He's tactically dead but if all you need is someone to hold a line while higher ranking generals work out the actual tactics he'd be a decent choice. I still agree that he's not fit for his post, though.
Then again, considering a single courier with a chip on their shoulder and an assault rifle in their hands can do in a few weeks what the NCR failed to do for nearly 4 years, perhaps he really is just completely incompetent. :v:

Fookin 'A' man, she's a puncher, not a shooter! Give her a balistic fist or a super heated saturnite glove, not some wussy shotgun a california-girl-with-stars-in-her-eyes wouldn't use.
Seriously though, give her some power armor, stimpacks in her inventory, and a nice unarmed weapon and she'll be killing for you.
i did give her some of the bear trap gloves from DM and its kinda funny but my gameplay style is not much in the way of energy weapons nor melee
i do reckon two characters in power armor wandering around with modded pump actions slaying beasts in the mojave is funny
i think the only time i killed someone with a melee weapon was the shish or the superheated cosmic knife just to see people set on fire

Hell, if you want anyone out in the wastes kicking ass with shotguns, you want Raul in Black Mountain. It's near Quarry Junction, north of Hidden Valley.
I've actually been wondering about a weapon for Veroncia on my game. She's currently got a ballistic fist but I'm pondering giving her either a super-heated saturnite fist or an industrial hand(Yes I've modded it to be AI-equippable).
On the topic of good companion/weapon combos: Cass + Bozar.

yeah Cass is awesome with shotguns
i dont give anyone automatic weapons... if you want to see people burst off a whole mag killing a molerat, do that
bozar is a hell expensive choice though
and i'm low on 5.56, .308 and 12 gauge since these are my major rounds
.357 with cowboy or la longue is pretty damn powerful for what it is too

Low on 5.56? Sneak kill NCR soldiers for ammo is a good way to get it, but if you like the NCR, Gun Runners usually has nice supply of 5.56.
I think I used the cowboy repeater more often than I did any other gun, to be honest. The service rifle may have come close later in the game due to its open sources of ammo, but that's really about it. I rarely ever used the shotguns and never used melee.

when i say "low" I mean i have 150 rounds of each which is fine as long as you stick to semi automatic weapons
but i do i have 3,000+ rounds of 5mm and .357 which i dont use that much
the 5mm assault carbine isnt that useful IMO but i change weapons just for fun

Boone specially in my opinion. Given the time, he will just pop off heads without you even noticing it. He can handle by himself 6-7 guys if there's space between them.

thats kinda why if you complete his quests the wrong way he goes commando on the legion and kills like hundreds before they finally take him down with like an entire legion

The sights are off centre. You need to aim slightly to the right of what you want to shoot.

I'll always vastly prefer just the crosshair for aiming.
Has the added bonus of being able to see your weapon's spread, if you are using Project nevada's crosshair.

You think so? I'm a crack shot with that thing. I don't think PN fixes the sight or anything either. I can hit guys dead-on from LOD distances away sometimes.
I just got me all the older fallout games and I dont know in which order to play of what not to play.
