Fallout 1 first, Fallout 2 second. Fallout Tactics is almost completely non-canon, but the first two games will give you a better understanding of the Brotherhood so you'll know more about what's going on.

I would suggest playing Tactics after the second one, but don't expect to get the same RPG experience you get from the first two games.
The sights are off centre. You need to aim slightly to the right of what you want to shoot.

The hunting rifle can't hit dick when I use it, unlike every other weapon.
There's a mod, which I use, that fixes most of the broken-ass irons in the vanilla game.

I just got used to the sights being off. Once you do it's a perfectly accurate gun.

Regarding Oliver: I'd say he's worthy of one star at most. He's tactically dead but if all you need is someone to hold a line while higher ranking generals work out the actual tactics he'd be a decent choice. I still agree that he's not fit for his post, though.
I think he was voiced pretty badly too. Nothing like the Full Metal Jacket drill sargeant he should've been
So, after watching Josh Jepson's LP of Fallout 3, I decided to get the game for myself.
Well, except I haven't gotten it yet, but I intend too, along with New Vegas.
Any recommendations, for mods or quests or locations of cool shiz and stuff?
one thing's for sure when i get new vegas erebody's gonna fear the wrath of that guy with his granny and robodog
I like the borked iron sights. Makes sense since hunting rifles are pretty shoddy looking.

In Fallout 3, make sure to visit Vault 108
That is all.

It'd be kinda nice if the borked irons still had a chance of missing or a random spread. Not so much if they are still spot on, just have to Kentucky aim perfectly.
How good of a companion would you guys say Lily is? Cause she seems like a fun characters, being a granny and all.

"Don't you worry about me, sweetie. Your grandma knows how to stay QUIET."
Always found that line of her's funny :v:
And I didn't use her too much but she's a pretty good companion from what I recall. Got in the way in tight spots a lot what with her cutting everything up at melee range though.
for me I prefer Ed-E way over Rex for obvious reasons (free gun repairs and ammo)
with the upgraded plasma gun he's excellent
for rex i think i gave him the Legion brain but he always wandered off and killed shit on his own
Boone is the best but he's a game killer at the end
I tended to run thru each companion until their personal quests were done and went onto the next dude
Okay guys. Here's another question for ya.
I'll probably put 20 dollars in Steam soon, and I have Fallout 3, New Vegas, and Oblivion as my top three in my wishlist.
Which one should I get first? I'm currently thinking Fallout 3, but New Vegas seems to be the one everyone's talking about.

Play Fo3 and then NV

Here's what I'd do.
1: Fallout 3
2: Fallout: NV
3: Oblivion

If you play New Vegas first, you'll go back to Fallout 3 and notice a gigantic amount of missing features that you'll sorely miss and will probably cause you to not enjoy yourself. I suggest Fallout 3 first by far. There are a ton of mods to hold you over until you get the money for New Vegas as well.

Install NV, get the tale of two wastelands mod and then play that. You'll get FO3 with all the improvements of NV.
As for Oblivion, it's fun but I would only suggest it over the other two if you're a bigger fan of fantasy hack & slash gameplay.

Oh son of a bitch, automerge.
Install NV, get the tale of two wastelands mod and then play that. You'll get FO3 with all the improvements of NV.
The problem is, Fallout 3 was not designed with NV's gameplay in mind, so things will be kind of off-balance, not to mention a lot less stable.
Just play Fallout 3 and New Vegas separately.

Well, TTW address the balance issue, so if you have a strong PC, and luck, you can give it a try.
(But if you use Project Nevada with the equipment module, you will need to grab, or make yourself a patch)

TTW totally does't address the balance issue. Super mutants are impossible to kill easily with a Hunting Rifle, while in vanilla FO3 you could easily kill one with a 32 pistol.
And the lack of ammo for .308 and any other strong weapon basically denies you from completing fallout 3's portion of TTW until you are super kitted out.

Nope! I get plenty of PN equipment in DC.

Grab a rocket launcher. Besides, the muties were supposed to be these badass walking tanks anyway. It makes sense that you can't easily kill them with a pathetic revolver.
So for my first playthrough of Fallout 3, and probably for a let's play, I'm thinking of being a guy who's proficient in Big Guns and uses Power Armor.
What other skills, perks, and weapons should I get? I'm also thinking of using one of each of the "types" of big guns, like minigun, missile launcher, flamer, etc.
Install NV, get the tale of two wastelands mod and then play that. You'll get FO3 with all the improvements of NV.
No.
Buy Fallout 3, play through it.
Get NV, play through that.
Get a fuckton of mods for NV, including tale of two wastelands.
Enjoy the [del]crashes[/del] game.
Play as much of the game as you possibly can with a Fat Man. The MIRV is your oh-shit handle. Everything else is sold to fund the mininuke habit you'll have.
Also, your character should be perpetually drunk.
Nope! I get plenty of PN equipment in DC.
Well, unless they changed it, you get duplicate of Fallout 3 weapons in PN, and in each duplicate, one is borked.
So you need patch that shit.
I have not noticed that. At all.
I just noticed that Primm Slim has over 5,000 hitpoints. That's hilarious.
