[B]Fallout: PnP Edition: Log 18: The Beginning of the End[/B]

Wherein the party finally kills John, the deranged psyker and adoptive father of Little Lightning. After exiting the Vault, they realize that since they were kidnapped, they don't have their vehicle. It is then that Gorgutz the [del]ork[/del] super mutant picks up the party in his [del]plot-convenient vehicular transport[/del] WAAAGHwagon. On their way back to base, they encounter two familiar faces (well, to some of us anyway): Red Allen and Knight. Stitch has a bone to pick and a fist to swing with these fine fellows, but things settle out for the moment and they leave on relatively peaceful terms, but not before being told of the plan to finish the Commonwealth once and for all.
Stitch, as it turns out, is the very same Batman who Knight accidentally back in Chicago. Apparently if you pour someone who was turned into a puddle into some FEV you get a half-mutant. Science, everybody!
By giving Knight, the ghoul who accidentally Batman with a grenade and might have nuked Chicago by accident, a tanker full of experimental and highly explosive [del]plot-convenience[/del] nondescript stuff, the Enclave hopes he'll blow up the Commonwealth while they, along with the help of the friendly mob group the Blancos, create a diversion so that the tanker can get into position.
The party meanwhile is tasked with infiltrating the place and making sure the head honchos are dead dead.
With any luck, next week will be the finale of this [del]not so[/del] great tale of hardship, explosions and [del]plot convenient things[/del] some other fitting third thing.
I wonder if WHY.txt belongs with the next log. Hmm.

You should have known what would happen if you had talked more with Cass and done her quest.
But yeah, you can only finish the Van Graffs' quest by getting Cass killed, I think.

Jesus Christ, I'm in Zion at Level 35 with maxed out Energy Weapons and I'm essentially wiping out anything that tries to attack me.
I brought along the Sprtel-Wood 9700 just in case, but I don't even need it because my Holorifle wastes anything it hits in 1-2 shots. I'm pretty much untouchable by the White Legs.
Also for some reason ED-E's come along for the trip, even though I don't think he shouldn't be able to at all normally. Not that that's a bad thing.
Goddam so I decided to do cass's mission on the peaceful manner, and now when I go around freeside van graffs shoot me, and if I kill them I have to kill crimson caravans boss(the old woman)

You don't have to, just ignore whatever Cass says about it.
ya there should have been a way to keep her as a companion AND finish the Van Graff/NCR quest. its just really stupid that the one dude arbitrarily wants her dead, and there are no other options possible like finding a regular caravaner and sacrificing them instead. i mean he just asks her name, then vaporizes her before she can answer. it should be a no brainer

I need to figure out a way to make walking to destinations exciting. I would do a no fast travel game, but once you kill the hostiles and explore the buildings, there's not much left to investigate between here and there.

i'm a pacafist at heart when i play NV and by leting her die, you don't have to kill nearly as many people (except a bunch of redshirted legioneres but they are doomed to die anyway)

hey do you know what mod that is? i looked a while ago and all i came up with is a huge mod thats a bunch of bug-fix mods and extra mods tacked togather, i just wanted the mod with the cut-quest options

i didnt see a need to keep the van graffs around - probably helps i dont dig energy weapons
somehow the van graff crier opened up on me randomly and then its all on... six dudes streamed out of their front door and boone took 'em on
i looted their bodies but didnt bother with their display items... no one else looted their store either so it remains empty

the first time you go to the van graffs is stupid, if you don't talk to the guy on the front he'll kill you, if you go in and go past the guards, they kill you, you have to do the guard quest a couple times before you can even just walk in without any problems

I always just walk up to the guard and he lets me in. It's probably related to your Freeside reputation because I help out The Kings and the Garretts as soon as I get there.
