Is it possible to use those special robots in the REPCONN building in NV with RobCo Certified? I'm just curious
Also, how do I sneak up on Deathclaws to give them the mind control device? I can never find a Deathclaw just wandering, and those I do find try to murderder me
They'll either turn into Mister Handy robots, or just won't be valid repair targets.
As for sneaking up on a deathclaw, good luck. There's plenty at Quarry Junction. Your best bet will be a few stealthboys, 100 in Sneak, and a shit load of luck and patience. What mind control device though?

I meant the robots like the Car Protectron and the Quad Leg Sentry Bot
It's just easier to refer to it as the mind control device, cause I assume that's what you do when you use the sensor module and conductor
Oh, and how much of the animal cap do each animal fill up? Like Protectrons have a cap of 2
and can you tame ants? cause if you can't, then it's gonna be really hard to be the AntAgonizer
Okay again I have no idea what you mean.
Those? No. They're just models, they aren't actors. The repair script requires a dead robot NPC. There are reskins available in another download to replace the textures of your robots, but the unique ones like the quad sentry bot would required someone to make them actual NPCs first.

Repair scripts are typically run on dead actors, not through reverse-pickpocketing. Does it specifically say to pickpocket them?
The Deathclaw Dominator perk mentions mind-control helmets made out of sensor modules and conductors and requires energy cells to keep the Deathclaw from wanting to kill you
Okay, just wanted to know if it was possible to get those fancy robots
And I'm not pickpocketing them. Where did I say that? I know you can only repair dead robots
Is there a mod that lets you play a game of Fallout 3 against the Brotherhood or at least lets you sell Brotherhood Power Armour to Outcasts?
There any mods that change how traveling merchants work in Vegas? I want to try playing a raider.
I believe theres a mod on the Nexus that adds Gun Runner caravans, thats the only thing that comes off the top of my head though.
Am I wrong in hoping that the next Fallout has vehicles, at the very least for transportation?
It just feels unrealistic for the NCR and other highly-technological groups to be able to rebuild laser weapons and gauss guns, but not be able to do something as simple as reassemble an engine block.

Gamebryo.
do you have any idea how hard it is to find a toaster in the wasteland
Gamebryo.
Pretty much. The NCR wouldn't be able to cover their territory at all without vehicles, those trucks you see around their bases are supposedly functional.
[editline]21st September 2013[/editline]
They have an entire modern army that's fairly well supplied, they hunted down the enclave, won a war against the brotherhood, the president rides on a vertibird. I'd be very surprised if the NCR didn't have mechanized infantry at this point, it's not just a few trucks.
Could we at least include horses, or Brahmin-riding?
Gamebryo.
Not an excuse. Gamebryo will support cars...somewhat. You aren't going to be playing a post-apocalyptic Forza with 'em, but they're close enough, and most importantly fun to drive.
Am I wrong in hoping that the next Fallout has vehicles, at the very least for transportation?

It's actually canon that NCR uses mechanized vehicles. The quarry workers in Sloan specifically say they use the old draglines in there, and that the limestone they quarry is shipped out by train. They have vertibirds as well. It isn't too much of a stretch to assume rich civvies back home drive around in restored nuclear cars.
Modders have proven the engine will mostly cooperate with decent car physics, too, so I don't think it's absurd to wish for 'em.

Do you know how those cars are powered? We're talking mad scientist shit here. They're entirely and completely propelled by invisible explosions. No, I'm not shitting you. That's what it took to get working vehicles in Gamebryo via modding, at least.
So yes, it's an excuse. It's no secret that Gamebryo's LOD technology and cell loading systems are far to outdated to handle vehicles in a proper sense but you can tell Bethesda's been experimenting and bug testing with Skyrim in the form of dragon riding/flying and such. They're doing it slowly but you know they're doing all of this for eventual vehicle integration for Fallout 4. Hell, I'm actually of the opinion that the main major feature that's holding the announcement of the game back is the decision of whether or not vehicle code will actually be a major component to the game or not via the development and experimentation phase. It certainly feels like they're making sure they're not counting their chickens before they hatch by taking so long to announce their project and it seems like it's because they definitely don't want to advertise a major feature like vehicles and then find out that it's glitchy and horrible as hell down the road.
btw how do vertibirds fly in vanilla game, or presidential metro?
didn't the dude who made XRE pretty much have to make his own version of Gamebryo so the physics worked properly?
honestly I think the best fit for a Fallout vehicle would be some sort of motorcycle, maybe a sidecar with it so you can carry two companions with you
it's small enough so it can weave through all the debris, can have a silly fission reactor you feed with whatever fissile material you find etc. I feel a car would just be too big and too clumsy.
A horse equivalent might be cool as well, but Brahmin never seemed like the speedy types to me.
[editline]21st September 2013[/editline]
let's not forget that a motorcycle would reduce cheesing like running over swarms of enemies, you'd be too exposed and too small to do any real damage
I gotta know, is there a liberty prime companion mod anywhere?
I need it.

Why not both?
Motorcycles early on, cars for endgame.
To elaborate:
Motorcycles.
+Cheap
+Consume less fuel
+Indestructible/easily repaired and not targeted by AI
-Offer zero damage/radiation protection
-Explode when destroyed
-Not exactly fast
Cars:
+Faster than bikes
+Offer significant radiation/damage protection
+Trunk
-Cost a few thousand caps each
-Consume significantly more fuel than bikes
-Difficult to repair, explode violently when destroyed
I know road bikes tend to be normally faster than cars, but considering the harsh wasteland terrain, road bikes aren't probably too useful.
Another thing I've never seen discussed even about XRE Cars is having vehicles more closely tied with the RPG elements as well, i.e. driving skill/perks that would improve the speed/handling of the vehicles, much like in GTA SA.

Didnt Tactics have something like this?

I wish you could own a caravan or just be a caravan guard. It wouldn't even be that hard to program.
I'm trying to play Legion in Vegas, but by fuck is it hard. Caesar is just such a smug shit-eating asshole that I have to resist to urge to punch his stupid face into the ground.

This is like the first time I've heard someone request an escort mission mod for a game.
I've always wanted the option to play as a travelling trader in a RPG. I spent half my time in Fable: TLC just trading shit between the different towns.
This is like the first time I've heard someone request an escort mission mod for a game.
Except this escort mission will be completely optional.

It's very hard for me to join the Legion.
For some reason they don't like it when I punch their leader repeatedly with a power fist until his corpse explodes into tiny bits. Not one bit.
hey i sided with the brain guy in point lookout was that bad or good
i joined him cause he sounded cool and the ghoul was a meanie face
also i dominated a deathclaw today
i dubbed him cuddles
I really wish we could see the Legion Territories. If it was anything like the Roman Empire then it would be so fucking coooool
