Fallout Series Thread V14: When i entered this thread i was hoping there would be more gambling

Given how to Caesar describes New Vegas to a new Rome, I doubt it would've been all too spectacular.
Now I want the Legion winning to be canon so then F4 is about a band of raiders (barbarians) trying to take down the Legion.
I really wish we could see the Legion Territories. If it was anything like the Roman Empire then it would be so fucking coooool
The Legion is a pale imitation of anything Roman.
This is like the first time I've heard someone request an escort mission mod for a game.
Escort missions are fun when done right, but so many games decide fail escort mission = lose game instead of just punshing the player a bit but letting the game go on.
hey i sided with the brain guy in point lookout was that bad or good
i joined him cause he sounded cool and the ghoul was a meanie face
Desmond is a motherfucker, but otherwise a cool guy.
That doesn't really make sense but you get what I mean.
It actually doesn't matter who you side with, as you get the same loot and it ends the main plot line all the same.

Thus the if. I just kind of want to see the 'evil' faction to then turn into the greatest thing since sliced bread.

There is nothing great about the Legion.
There is nothing great about the Legion.
I just really wish they weren't the generic evil faction.

Lanius would disagree.
Lanius would disagree.
Well Lanius is a punk bitch.

Well, it's damn near impossible to make anyone with their practices be anything but evil.

blame bethesda's sudden shift in the length of time allotted to obsidian for making the game

obsidian planned on making them much less "evil," but time constraints prevented that
Lanius would disagree.
Actually Lanius would agree; he hates the Legion and doesn't care when a bunch of them die. That's why Caesar uses him in the first place.
I feel like if Obsidian had more time, and they had made the Legion more like actual Ancient Rome, than it would have made the choice between NCR and Caesar more difficult. It could have been a grey+grey type of decision if the Legion wasn't more "evil" than the NCR but only just more "efficient" in a cold kind of way.
Whatever, good-karma independant Vegas is best Vegas.
I liked House the best.
The NCR and Legion were both dicks and House was an old Republican. [sp]Taking Vegas for yourself (do I really even need to spoiler this? Am unsure.)[/sp] was the only option.

i feel the Legion are cool conceptually, but they really have no place as a main faction that you have to seriously consider the moral ramifications of when you chose your allegiance. they're fundamentally evil more or less, and they're also pretty much a dead-end in terms of human progress (as Ulysses says in Lonesome Road), so even ignoring the moral questions raised, siding with them is still completely pointless and indirectly evil.
imho even if they gave the Legion redeeming aspects they'd still basically be a ruthlessly pragmatic, suicidal horde of rapists and sociopathic slavers. doesn't really hold up against an overly bureaucratic and deeply flawed but nonetheless kindhearted, generally free democratic republic of guys who are, at worst, strategically incompetent.
oh man
i still need to visit vault 108
why haven't i done that yet
Hey guys how am I supposed to use the Soil Stradivarius?
Hey guys how am I supposed to use the Soil Stradivarius?
Take it to [sp]AGATHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA![/sp]
Type "player.additem 000c80bc 1" in console before entering.
why did i need that
i mean i killed them in two hits but still
House seemed to be the most competent of all the possible choices imo.

Gary?
wait
Gears Turning...

You're name is Excalibuurr, and you gave me a code for the Excalibat...
You must like the letter "B"!
House seemed to be the most competent of all the possible choices imo.
but he's also self-centered and ruthless. everything he does, he does for money or power. he might not do explicitly evil things to get one of those two and he is ultimately working towards the betterment of mankind (but considering most of mankind is atomized that isn't saying much), but he's out for himself, he's completely ruthless if he thinks he has to be, and the guy is very petty when the chips are down.
i just honestly don't think you can trust a significant portion of the remaining human race to a guy like that. good karma Independent Courier makes a way better leader anyway
House doesn't really seem to care that much about money; as for power he seems concerned of not getting absorbed by Legion or NCR so that would make sense.
His real flaws come from how self-absorbed he is, which would make sense given his high ego that would come from his pre-war life, and then being isolated for 200 years in a machine.
Also what's probably going to be canon is Vegas is independent, but it most likely wont accomplish any great achievements since you can't have anything too drastic happen otherwise any games that take place around it seem trivial.

to be honest, based on the fallout track record for canon, the likely canon ending is the NCR absorbing vegas
fallout has a hard-on for making the canon player character very pro-ncr
as the game went, NCR winning is inevitable as the cannon ending, what i want to know though[sp] was the peace treaty between the brotherhood and NCR cannon[/sp] or were [sp]the followers of apoc kicked out of freeside[/sp]
[editline]21st September 2013[/editline]
also [sp]who got nuked[/sp]
i hope whatever next fallout game comes out it'll answer these questions
You're all wrong. The correct playthrough is whatever allows you to get the meat of champions perk
Then kill everybody and take vegas for yourself.
Do you know how those cars are powered? We're talking mad scientist shit here. They're entirely and completely propelled by invisible explosions. No, I'm not shitting you. That's what it took to get working vehicles in Gamebryo via modding, at least.
Y'know, for something that sounds like such an awful band-aid solution, it doesn't actually look half bad from that trailer.

well, to be completely fair, real cars are technically propelled by explosions
