That's a mod for a different game.
We're talking about vanilla New Vegas.
My bad, didn't know.
I guess when Bethesda decides to spend all money on one voice actor, Patrick Stewart in Oblivion or Liam Neeson, the audio department is out of funds.
Fallout 3 was so bad when it came to the amount of voice actors they had on hand.
7 generic male voices and 4 generic female voices. Sound like an adequate amount? New Vegas had 13 male voices and 12 female voices .
Other things include New Vegas having two voices for old people, two voices for kids and two voices for ghouls. 3 only had one in each category.
better than skyrim's "four different voice actors that sound literally exactly the same, and also the people who voice elf characters and orc characters"
Also super fake 'viking' accents.
'cept vikings don't even sound like the nords in skyrim
they sound closer to like, minnesota people.

So there are now kids in NV that speak in two different voices.

Fallout New Vegas actually had quite a lot of (somewhat) big names as voice actors.
[editline]22nd October 2013[/editline]
Also everyone seems to forget that Sean Bean was in Oblivion too.
Anyone know some ways to stop stuttering in New Vegas and Fallout 3?

Bethesda didn't make New Vegas, they just published it.
Why does everybody think Bethesda made New Vegas? Half the people I talk to think this. Seriously, what the fuck guys

1: Their logo is pretty prominent in the intro slides while starting the game
2: They made about 65% of the game when they made Fallout 3
3: They own the series itself.
4: They're well known. Obsidian might as well be an indie dev for how well known they are.
doesn't bathesda own like a majority share of obsidian anyway?
[editline]22nd October 2013[/editline]
kinda like how EA isnt making the new CnC F2P mess but they practically own the studio thats making it
doesn't bathesda own like a majority share of obsidian anyway?
Nope, Obsidian are freelancers. And thank god for that, too
So there are now kids in NV that speak in two different voices.
there's only like two kids in NV so it works

Bethesda provided the engine and probably the funds too. So all great parts, like the story and atmosphere are from Obsidian.
I'm gonna be a bit sadistic here, but it would be really nice if New Vegas had some kind of fear system.
I mean, if you hear about a single person taking out an entire Legion assasination squad, literally butchering them, chopping of their limbs and head. But not just with the Legion.
anyone fighting this single person ends up completely butt-devastated, torn apart by explosions, limbs cut off etc.
That would definetly be someone I'd wish to never meet.
Yet if you do all this sadistic stuff, no one seems to react on it.

That would be cool I guess. Although people may not be so shocked by such things considering they grew up in the wastes around a lot of messed up shit. And also you'd have to put speed of communication into account. Oh and how would they know its you. Eh I'm being pedantic.
Cool idea nevertheless!
I was thinking of replaying Fallout 3 before I sink my teeth into New Vegas, how reliable is the Tale of two Wastelands mod?

Enough that it's playable from beginning to end. That is if you download some extra fixes from the Tales of Two Wastelands forums and you read the FAQ.

Something similar to the stuff in Fable?

Well, it's not like they would instantly know the player is Death Incarnate.
but roaming traders/other NPC's would occasionally find these butchered bodies or even watch as you chop people up.
Rumours would spread about this one guy going batshit crazy, some people would've seen this guy doing it/in the nearby location of the slaughter and make a connection.
Stuff like that.
Something similar to the stuff in Fable?
With the whole people shitting their pants when you get near them? Kinda.
But it would be more focused on the awe people would feel for this person.
Imagine this. You're just a normal person trying to survive in the wasteland. Suddenly, this guy, who's known to torture and butcher up raiders for fun.
Even the toughest soldiers from the NCR and Legion is afraid of this death machine who eats Deathclaws for breakfast and uses other peoples limbs as cutlery while doing so.
Sat down right next to you with a smile and asked how you were doing.
I'd shit out my own spine in fear of provoking or otherwise piss off that guy.

I thought you were going to talk about the player's own fear, like if you found a pack of Deathclaws and it had effects on you, but yeah I think a reputation system like that would make sense. What I wouldn't like it to do is make people run away from you or make encounters easier, as if the enemies flee or give up; I'd rather it mean that they beef up security so that a camp that had 4 raiders milling about now has 6 or 8, and Legion hitsquads gain an extra man or two, that kind of thing.

Your character being able to feel fear would be a nice touch too, yeah.
I would dislike that too, chasing after raiders to chop them into pieces might sound fun at first, but it would be boring if you had to do it all the time.
The idea with enemies buffing up security sounds reasonable, but I would still like a fearfull reputation open up for new conversations and it being easier to intimidate others.
Also, with more raiders at the same camp, it would be nice if you could get one guard down, chop him up and then make the rest of the raiders flip their shit.
Either taking all the drugs they have and being on high alert or flee if you've managed to kill half the camp whilst being hidden.
If all of this would be in Fallout 4 or any mod, I'll be even more sadistic and barbaric then I am in my current playthrough :v:

Aside from The Pitt being a broken pile of shit I have no issues with it.
Edit: And when I say broken pile of shit I mean it. Not 15 minutes into the DLC I encountered the fourth dimension. The world literally wasn't there in a visual sense, but it was still as solid as ever. I'll see if I can dig up some of the screenshots I took.

I can't say I would be, but I would thoroughly enjoy the world actually reacting to the actions of the demigod my characters end up being. You'd think after successfully facetanking an entire horde of Fiends while wearing nothing more than a pair of aviators and a ushanka for the fourth or fifth time the Fiends would get it through their heads that attacking Courier 6 is a suicide mission and that they shouldn't do that.

Exactly. They should be telling scary stories at the fire at night about you and how you ate some guys face.
As mentioned earlier, they should beef up their patrols and either take all the drugs they've got to deal with the paranoia/fear if they know the player is nearby.
Would be funny if they because of their drug damaged brain thought you were the coolest guy ever doing all this creepy shit though. :v:
Indeed it would be, haha.
Speaking of doing creepy things, I've grown tired of Niner's shit and need to dispose of him. Only, I want to do it in an unusual way, rather than just firing him and uninstalling the mod. Currently, my plan is to:
1: Remove his essential status so that he can actually die
2: Take him out to the Deathclaw Promontory
3: Activate a stealth boy and hide behind a rock
4: Plink at one of the monsters there.
5: Let the Deathclaw handle things from there
Any better ideas? I'm headed out that way anyway to pick up a Rail Cannon so it seemed a fitting way to get rid of him.

Though I do feel her eyes might be a bit too bright. (Either that or they look wayy too HD for how New Vegas looks :v:)

Eh, I wouldn't mind missing out of The Pitt, I wasn't too impressed with it when I played through Fallout 3 on the Xbox.
Never had the chance to do Point Lookout and The Mothership though. How would TTW work with Fallout 3 weapons though? Would they have Ironsights just like in New Vegas? Would I end up seeing Raiders at DC running around with lever action rifles fresh from New Vegas and chucking spears and TNT at me?
