Anyone here play fallout 1? 2? Tactics? They are the best ones imo. Fallout 3... I enjoyed placing a grenade in roys pocket near tenpenny.
I adored Fallout 1 & 2 but could never get into tactics.
My only issue with tactics remains that 5.56 rounds are worthless against anything with armor. Well, that and the crashes I get. The only reason I haven't been playing it is my save is still on my old HD and I am not going back through all of those missions.
I adored Fallout 1 & 2 but could never get into tactics.
Fallout 1 was where I spent most of my playtime but yeah tactics wasn't for everyone... I couldn't stand Fallout Brotherhood of Steel for original xbox. I do remember shooting a ton of deathclaws though and just dying instantly because they were so much more powerful compared to their Fallout 3 counter parts.
I actually liked the fact in Tactics I controlled a party and not just one guy.
i hope in a future fallout game we visit mt rushmore and unveil some sort of space laser control system in lincoln's nose or something
i hope in a future fallout game we visit mt rushmore and unveil some sort of space laser control system in lincoln's nose or something
So basically this:
I actually liked the fact in Tactics I controlled a party and not just one guy.
Definitely. I love the birds eye view in the old games also.
i hope in a future fallout game we visit mt rushmore and unveil some sort of space laser control system in lincoln's nose or something
Continue from the west and head into Colorado.
Continue from the west and head into Colorado.
wasnt colorado basically wiped off the map because of NORAD's location there
wasnt colorado basically wiped off the map because of NORAD's location there
If China was aiming to decimate America's population centers (as evidenced by the canonical attacks on DC, LA, Vegas, Salt Lake City, etc.), then why would they attack a mountain designed to withstand nuclear bombardment? Maybe it'd catch some of the fallout from Denver and CO Springs, but I doubt they'd concentrate their firepower on it.
wasnt colorado basically wiped off the map because of NORAD's location there
Colorado was destroyed. Its capital became a city solely populated by dogs until the Legion came. Thats where they get their dogs.
ah i was thinking about bolder dome, which was meant to be shown in van buren, it was an advance research facility like the big MT but it supposedly suffered substantial bombardment still even in a war against civilian targets, taking out NORAD would be a first priority, even if you manage to dent it or damage some of its communications capacity, it would be a necessity like striking washington was [editline]2nd November 2013[/editline] not sure if VB counts as canon though, and Beyond Bolder was a fan made mod, but the general conclusion was that colorado got a lot of blasts and realistically it would have gotten a lot of fallout too being downwind from basically all the westcoast cities
I remember reading a book once about strategies for nuclear war. The idea in an unlimited nuclear exchange is to completely eliminate the enemy's ability to successfully stage a counterattack. This means military and government targets are highest priority, followed by major cities. Industrial centres are prioritized over other cities. Note that nukes' blast radii are effectively limited to the size of cities, not states or continents. Despite Denver and Cheyenne Mountain being blasted with several (probably), most of Colorado would be unharmed until the fallout reached it.

I don't think there is much information on the Nuclear stockpiles at the time but I think the quantities would have been much higher. The Chinese apparently launched hundreds at Vegas so that says alot.

Actually, come to think of it, would they have ignored mostly empty places like Nebraska, Montana, etc.? I mean, if you think Oregon is empty, then those certainly wouldn't warrant a bombardment either.
Montana has a bunch of nuke silos. I don't know how much the game lore follows that though.
There are a lot of silos in Montana but there's only a few military bases and most of those are right on next to the largest cities. Once you get out of those areas the state is mostly empty with small towns scattered around so I imagine a lot of small towns could get by relatively unharmed, especially ones tucked away in the mountains.

A burst from an AK can and will splatter your guts all over the floor, in an emergency situation your .45's gonna make mess of the incoming raiders in two, maybe three shots... it's way more dynamic and fun. You gotta play on Turn Based though (or have inhuman pro Starcraft player reflexes) or it's simply too lethal to handle.
I tried to mod it, couldn't figure it out. Decided I'd save it for a second playthrough anyway, since you mentioned I'd have to start collecting 5.56 again because the game considers the two rounds separate items.
Behold! The most emotionally confused Wolverine. [t]http://static2.nexusmods.com/120/mods/120/images/19805-4-1383284637.jpg[/t] http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/19805/?

Point Lookout is a good example of a place that was left untouched by bombs during the war. Granted, it didn't save itself from the radiation but it's (Mostly hostile) locals and inhabitants are having a decent living, being able to run stores, make moonshine and high quality fruits free of radiations and arrange safaris in relative safety. So long as you're local. The environment is much more lush than most other parts of America too, need we mention the punga fruits.
BONGO BONGO BONGO I DON'T WANNA LEAVE THE CONGO OH NO NO NO NO NO~
BINGO BANGO BONGO IM SO HAPPY IN THE CONGO I REFUSE TO GOOOOOOOO
for some reason, kimball's head exploded when he finishes the speech even though i killed the sniper and disable the bomb i had to teleport grant to me to tell him i had done those things, but i still failed in the end, so whateves
do i need fo3 to download ttw?
You can [sp]choose to morph them[/sp]
How do I do that?
if you are really stuck you can temporarily boost your science skill with the console, then just reset it back to the original level once your done
Damn, didnt think of that. Well too late now, already went back to my save before I got there, and did some side quests and the main story. [editline]3rd November 2013[/editline]
I did not know that darker nights meant total blackness.. -images-
Where is those places located?
The first one is the open desert between Primm and Nipton. The three next pictures are all in houses in camp searchlight. And the last one is from TTW in capital wasteland. Might be around Big town. Not totally certain.
TTW doesn't change any in-game locations aside from the two train stations, does it?
