Better idea, go back to old school fallout style, top down point and click. i had more fun with Fallout 2 than with New Vegas and 3 combined, mods for the FPSRPG FO games made them slightly better, but there was a good modding community for 2. fallout mid west, I want to see nuclear piles in Chicago, but I do want it to be one fully explorable region
I'd prefer something farther away from the NCR. I don't hate the faction but, they've gotten too big for the setting. Barring some plot device giving them a major setback, I can't really see anything in the south western US working out.
also anything not on gamebryo-go-fuck-yourself engine, maybe something actually met to handle first person graphics, and better gunplay like the ai not just strafing left and right firing wildly at you or firing at you from miles away. I keep finding myself totally in the middle of nowhere and I hear tons of gunfire, occasionally I get clipped and its not till like 5 minutes later, behold a viper gunslinger has finally come within sight of me and is still firing wildly.
I just hope Bethesda tweaks the creation engine even more for fallout. And also a wide and varied cast of voice actors [editline]8th November 2013[/editline] Who are also competent at voice acting
new york city
I get the feeling New York is a glowing slag pit. ...Though you know, to be honest, wasn't Pittsburgh relatively intact? On one hand, New York is one of America's biggest cities, but on the other hand, Pittsburgh and DC weren't completely annihilated, there was still recognizable stuff. Whenever I think about this kind of stuff, it's hard to balance out what we see (i.e. Vegas, DC, Pittsburgh, kind of Los Angeles) vs. what is said in supplemental material (like in Honest Hearts, the cave dude mentions Salt Lake City being reduced to burning rubble, China was said somewhere to be uninhabitable even by ghouls). I wish there was an explanation or more consistency.
new york city
oh great more rubble piles and subways, this time with more flooding
Who are also competent at voice acting
Bethesda sure loves hiring voice actors who talks so fucking slowly and have annoying voice.
I'm a little iffy on songs other radio stations did. But I might decide to say "fuck it", because those are good songs.
RACE radio doesn't actually add any songs. It just adds a radio station and leaves it up to the user to supply the music. I put pretty much anything that contained "rock" and was made between 1970 and today on it. [editline]8th November 2013[/editline]
So what would y'all like to see in the next Fallout? Like, gameplay and story wise.
The ability to add custom animations via mods. It's been a thorn in modder's sides in every Gamebryo game released so far that they can't do that.
So what would y'all like to see in the next Fallout? Like, gameplay and story wise.
more big guns less douchey enclave(?) less douchey legion more douchey brotherhood more companion types(deathclaw, centaur, feral ghoul) random encounters tanks n shit pilotable vertibirds dual wielding story wise: events from previous games being ambiguous as to how they were completed, and certain events in-game directly based on endings of previous games happening alongside an ending event that occurs from a different ending like the great khans joining with the followers and rumors that NCR won the dam
Bethesda sure loves hiring voice actors who talks so fucking slowly and have annoying voice.
They waste the VA budget on 2 people. One companion and a narrator.

Plus it wouldn't be Black Isle developing a game in that style, or even Obsidian, it'd be Bethesda's studio which has literally no experience in top-down point and click games.
And it would most likely tank anyway. The market for a game built like FO1/2 is such a niche that Bethesda wouldn't even break even making another Fallout game in that way.
This too. Basically if you want a top down point and click game, go play Wasteland 2 when it's out, because Fallout will probably never be that ever again.

There's Underrail and Wasteland 2, though, and they're being released in the next couple months unless I'm very wrong about something, so there's that!
It always bugged me in Fallout 3 and NV how unarmed and melee weapons were two separate skills, especially when some perks required raising both
They waste the VA budget on 2 people. One companion and a narrator.
Narrator? Ron Perlman? No sorry, you can't have Fallout without him doing the classic Fallout line. If he isn't the narrator, it's not Fallout to me. [editline]8th November 2013[/editline] Also they got Danny Trejo for Raul in NV, plus that woman from that web series for Veronica who's popular. Pretty sure most of the NV companions were at least B-list.
Waste was the worst word to use.

I just bought this for the PC not too long ago off a Steam sale and I was wondering what kind of mods you gentlemen recommend for the game. Nothing too crazy or too fancy just some mods that might enhance the overall game or is a fun thing to add to it.
If you want a mostly vanilla experience before you start using the game changing mods I recommend Mission Mojave and New Vegas Redesigned II, I recommend the Lore version because the other versions change way too much. Mission Mojave fixes the vast majority of the bugs in the game and cleans up texture errors. New Vegas Redesigned II changes how characters look so they look like human beings and not like Benny a little way up the page. I think it also changes armours so they fit better.
holy shit rofl i just noticed his face is fucking tiny
he looks sad
he looks sad
Well when you're faced with a person who is kitted out and you've tried to kill him/her before, only to have him/her waltz inside you're casino and meet you face to face, I think I'd have the same expression too.
Is it a bad idea I was planning to make my own Fallout rock/metal station with songs that have essentially nothing to do with the setting or anything, just what I like, and that I've chosen 535 songs? I figure 535 is way too many (with more actually planned to be added), but so many of you complain how X station only has a dozen or so songs that just repeat until your ears bleed. What I'm basically getting at is, would this crash the game because there is way too many songs?
Matthew also hurt his hand from playing so much FO3. Him being such a huge fan is why they put him on board to be Benny :V
