Operation Anchorage is really just mediocre. It's linear and focuses on combat, which is arguably the Fallout series' worst points. The gear is good, but that's just it, it's too good, and once you get it, you're set for the rest of the game.
I like how that guy joined just to post something but he didn't even bother to read back like two pages to see all the shit we had already talked about, and then he gets bitchy and says "oh yeah well i never really liked this forum anyway and you're all idiots ha".
That said, aside from Boston, I'd like to see a Fallout game in Colorado, but I also wouldn't mind Chicago. I'd prefer some place that isn't mostly flat terrain, like much of the midwest, though.

I liked the loot, but it dragged on a bit too long for my taste. I could just be remembering it as overly long though.
Good Lord, playing the Temple in Fallout 2 is ridiculous if you haven't statted into melee. Who stats into melee?

I liked it for what it was. The combat doesn't bother me in the game and VATs really isn't that essential for that addon so no big deal. Great gear, too.

People who have played Fallout 2 before and realize how anally destroying the Temple is.

Yeah. The glitched winterized armour lasted me 'til the rest of the game because it never ever degraded. I imagine I would have been salvaging Enclave armour had that not been the case. The Gauss rifle is way too good.
The final fight with Jingwei is ridiculous. I played Anchorage when my character was about level 21 and he had HP for days. I liked all of the DLC, honestly. Mothership Zeta was crappy but it at least had a distinct style and it was pretty funny and novel to pilot the ship against an opposing one. I hated Broken Steel compared to the other ones though, at least the quest part. The new perks are neat but the story is pretty much "kill more enclave woo!" and it cheapens the finality of the ending sequence in a way that never occurred in any other Fallout games (without mods, ofc).

I personally didn't like the DLC for 3 as much as I wish I did. I enjoyed it when I first played it, but after playing New Vegas' DLC, especially Dead Money, I changed my mind. I liked Mothership Zeta at first, mostly for the unique armor and clothes, but it felt maze-like and repetitive. I wasn't much of a fan of Point Lookout, because I felt it was too grey, washed out, enemies were bullet sponges, and the setting was one of my least favorites (I'm not a fan of the "deep south" feel, or the hillbillies or plantation-like buildings) The twist with the main plot was cool though. The Pitt was interesting, but felt really linear and short, and while I loved the moral ambiguity of it and thought it was the best of the DLC, it really didn't feel like it lasted long enough to build up to a climactic end; it didn't feel like there was any resolution. Broken Steal was what it was and I have no qualms or good things to say about it, because it wasn't really that memorable for good or bad.
I compare that to how I felt about Dead Money, or Old World Blues, or Lonesome Road, and I easily can say I don't think I could ever stand to play through the F3 DLC again.

Well, my first game of Fallout 2 used melee. I figured, no foraging for ammo, no problem, right? Well, turns out the rest of Fallout 2 is incredibly hard for anything but small guns.
Just started fallout 1 again with a character that specializes in traps, throwing and speech
bring it bitches
You think your Temple experience was bad? I accidentally set my C4 timer to like 99999999999999 or something and my last save was at the entrance.
The temple was awful, I tried to kick ants and shoot them F3 style, I died at the first room. Damn tribe men forcing me to go
i just put my agility way up there, so whenever i fought the scorpions and shit i'd just stab, run, stab, run, stab, run, stab, ru- oh its already dead.
haha i'm having a lot of fun revisting fallout new vegas on hardcore/very hard I can't wait to start the dlcs
-starts dead money-
haha i'm having a lot of fun revisiting fallout new vegas on medium/casual mode

That feeling when you're walking around with a fat-man just for the sake of badassery and you get startled by a radroach and end up killing both yourself and the damn pest.
Finished Fallout 1 yesterday. At the beginning turn based combat was weird for me, because I never played anything similar, but I like it a lot now. You need to carefully prepare for every fight, and watch what you are doing and use strategy, it's not just constant hack and slash.

I'll probably get into turn-based combat once I buy XCOM.
May god help me.
I heard the puu.sh audio is fake. Anyone got any further news on that front?

"oh shit is something confirmed!"
3 pages of bullshit arguing
:suicide:
I went into Lonesome Road with an underdeveloped character who suffers from malnourishment and insomnia which really, REALLY fucks up your stats in IMCN hardcore mode.
Also, you can OD on stimpaks and you can't stack them for more health.
I've been looking for the mod that allows you to travel to the Fallout 3 map but it seems the author/nexus had it taken down.
Does anyone know if it can be found anywhere?
Tales of two wastelands? Just google that one.
Also, I loved Anchorage, nice change of pace.
Dead money was great and it was actaully challenging because of the ammo.

Fuck, there goes my hype.
I have to admit it was a pretty decent fake though.

To be honest, you absolutely do not have to stat into melee or unarmed if you learn some of the tricks. Mine was sneaking until I could throw my spear as an opener, then following the standard 'kick once and move away' trick. You have to exploit the fuck out of the AP system. Sometimes you get lucky with the spear throw and oneshot the bug you're fighting, though.

Oh and make sure to save before you enter the room with the dude administering your test. Because having to go BACK through all that shit is infuriating.
