Like how the Marines are technically the naval ground-based infantry?

Damn this World of Pain mod.. Not that it's bad, but there's no way I can be certain where to start all the quests / whether I have killed quest mobs already. Also, Frankie's Quest ended for me after the "Enter the Underground" part suddenly, it didn't even complete, and became a Misc.. Weird? The Underground led to a HUGE web of different Underground areas and I'm soon done clearing the place.
I really hope the new Fallout takes place in Boston. I live in western MA and the references to the Quabbin Reservoir were pretty damn cool to me, hell I've kayaked that reservoir. I love Boston, and if they include western Massachusetts as the wilderness area I could see it fitting. Very mountainous out here, with the Appalachians and such. Then again I'm so far west I doubt I'd see my town or area being ingame. Yet if they do include the Berkshires, well I do live in the "Gateway to the Berkshires" so they'd have to include it, at least as a trading outpost at the end of the Mass Pike or Route 20.
What exactly are you talking about? The NCR would have had all of their bases overrun and would have been annihilated at the dam itself.
assuming the NCR and the legion are about equal in troop size, the NCR has some body armor, explosives, and very good semi-automatic riffles....the legion has sholder pads, pointy sticks, a smathering of shotguns, and tons of litteral redshirts to chuck at the NCR oh did i mention the NCR has actual assault riffles equipped to all troops as well as high caliber snipers and even salvaged power armor, and tons of grenades [editline]25th November 2013[/editline]
Damn this World of Pain mod..
The whole point is that the war is pretty much going to be a standstill until someone gives up. The Courier is the one who kind of sparks the war back up into production. So delaying the war pretty much means that you just don't play the main quest.
The main quest? I've been ALL over the NCR Stations helping them out in every way I can, yet I hear whining about lack of supplies, or whether they'll be able to defend Nelson or something.. Boone with me too. lol. In the end it had two dialog options: "Here's the last three discs" or "I think I already have your discs." but they probably share the same outcome. As for Frankie's quest? Well fuck, if it's bugged for me now. Did it go on for long after the "Enter the Underground" part, with more follow-ups?
"I'm glad Mean Sonofabitch is on our side." -Mean Sonofabitch I am not making this up.
assuming the NCR and the legion are about equal in troop size
You shouldn't assume that. The NCRs war with the legion is like the Korean war. Sheer numbers against superior equipment and support. The Legion clearly has a higher population and is completely able and willing drown the NCR in blood. The only reason they won the first battle of Hoover Dam was because of Hanlons brilliance and the 1st recon trapping the legion in boulder city.
oh man just found 'Come fly with Me' quest in Fallout NV HALO REFERENCES, THEY'RE EVERYWHERE
oh man just found 'Come fly with Me' quest in Fallout NV HALO REFERENCES, THEY'RE EVERYWHERE
Are you talking about something specifically within the quest, or just the quest name? Because I'm pretty sure if it's the latter, then the quest name is referencing a Frank Sinatra song.
i wish there was an ending where you didn't have to kill everyone, except the legion i guess.... i never was happy with house's "you must kill the BoS" or the NCR's "you must kill House" endings, it just seems like bad writing, id love an ending where you could just delay the war for another 4-5 years, kick the can down the road, espeacially in a game that is all about finding creative solutions to problems
Well there is a mod that lets you get a House/BoS alliance. Dunno about a house/NCR one.
[editline]25th November 2013[/editline] is it possible to play through new vegas without actually leveling weapon skills?
Well, considering the only way to level a weapon skill in NV is to actively choose to put points into it on levelup, yes.
i hope energy weapons make an appearance in fallout 4
i hope energy weapons make an appearance in fallout 4
Why wouldn't they?
Why wouldn't they?
are you implying you have some sort of insight into their appearance in fallout 4?
Why wouldn't they?
I, too, would like to see actual energy weapons for once. As it stands the only thing I've encountered are fisher price toys. They don't feel even remotely dangerous, they feel like something you'd use in lasertag.
-snip apparently i'm dumb FOR THINKING A GAME WAS REFERENCING ANOTHER GAME-
You do realise the Great Journey in Halo is a reference to the Rapture, right? It seems more likely that Come Fly With Me is also referencing the Rapture and so uses much of the same terminology.
ah, well, they're close enough. game referencing game referencing fiction/history (not sure what rapture is so yea). but it just seems so, similar. demons impending great journey, which takes them to the divine/far beyond
With the Yes-Man missions, is it possible to not ignore the other tribes? it says optional but the only dialog options are to ignore them What if the other casinos are assholes and I actually want them gone
With the Yes-Man missions, is it possible to not ignore the other tribes? it says optional but the only dialog options are to ignore them What if the other casinos are assholes and I actually want them gone
Pretty sure each of those tribes have a quest you can do, you have to complete those quests if you don't want to ignore them. (Or you can just kill everyone if you wish to do so.)

It's "game referencing the same fiction/history another game references".
Just me or do the beeps on the survivor2299 page sound different?
It isn'y 'game referencing game referencing fiction/history".
