So I've been RP'ing a Desperado as my latest NV character. Guns, Sneak and Survival. No followers, hardcore. I can't remember my exact special but I know Charisma was at 0 and Luck was at 0. This is a downtrodden Cowboy, remember also, I made him a whiskey addict. Things took a severe turn for the worse today when what was supposed to be simple negotiations turned into a massive blood bath at Boulder city in which no one survived. I have 10 speech.
The Bloody Mess perk is actually disgusting. Pretty weird when an enemy's entrails fly a mile away from you everytime.
I find it pretty useful, if I kill an enemy on an inaccessible catwalk but I want to loot their corpse, I can merely shoot their corpse repeatedly until a lootable chunk of it flies down to me.
the only faction I've yet to be villified is the NCR but that's cause my character's had some past discrepancies he's staying on the GOOD SIDE I can't decide if I want to be independant or go NCR
I'm starting a hardcore play through. I arrived at th Tops with the intention of killing everybody. I accidentally gave the guy my non handout weapons. I decided "fuck it I'll kill them with my knife until I respawn". I killed all but three with a knife and finished the rest off with a gun I picked up. I didn't have to reload a checkpoint.
I've been playing Fallout 1, and I think I missed the dialogue about not being able to find the water chip in Vault 15. Should it update my status, because it still says "Find the water chip."?

[editline]26th November 2013[/editline] Not saying you do or anything.
Anybody know how to tweak the amount of time that elapses during fast travel?
fuck me silly I've been playing on autosave alone for the past 4 hours I forgot about this during a momentary lapse in judgement In an attempt to pickpocket the note off of Jessup instead of dealing with the shit (speech was low, remember?) a firefight burst out Boone is now dead. This could not be any more Max Payne like I do not think
I, too, would like to see actual energy weapons for once. As it stands the only thing I've encountered are fisher price toys. They don't feel even remotely dangerous, they feel like something you'd use in lasertag.
I find the laser weapons totally acceptable. They look extremely functional and easy to fix. Basically the Lasgun of the Fallout universe. The Laser RCW pushes that a little bit, and the Recharger rifle does legitimately look like a Fisher price toy. Plasma on the other hand, what the fuck were the designers thinking. If you dropped that shit on your foot you'd have broken glass shards and plasma everywhere. Try and holster it on your back or shoulder and you've got those spikey things sticking into you.
the plasma defender looks like an actual weapon.
I took the Bloody Mess at some point in my game, but I was disappointed with the effects so I took it out via a console command. Didn't like the thing where legs/hands get blown off by a headshot..
What bugged me about Bloody Mess was that it would often render a target unlootable.
So you just made him do all the work then?
He does all the work for you anyway. He's terrible about that. Take him anywhere hostile and he pops everyone from the next county over before you can draw. Literally.
I find the laser weapons totally acceptable. They look extremely functional and easy to fix. Basically the Lasgun of the Fallout universe.
I said feel, though. I do agree that they look functional, heck you could probably build an AER9 that actually fired a visible red laser pulse, but when I fire them they feel like they're about as dangerous as a pillow made of cotton candy and marshmallows. Having used them I know they are in fact viable, but they just don't feel like weapons to me. The Q38 Matter Modulator hits just as hard as a brush gun, for example, but the brush gun feels and sounds like something that you'd use for the 1812 Overture. And that's what sells me on firearms over energy weapons. At least until we get to the gauss rifle. It, too, hits like a truck and feels like it. But needing 10mfcs per shot and only having one shot in the 'mag' pretty much ruins that for me, too.
The Beyond the Beef quest, that poor chef and his past. Makes me laugh everytime.
Found this on reddit: [t]http://i.imgur.com/VsqawFI.jpg[/t] I can't believe NV covered that much real world area (obviously it was condensed for in-game purposes) but I'm willing to bet that with an advanced engine, you could have a map that is much larger than NV and FO3, as this might suggest. The creator has more information in the thread.
I just thought about something. Massachusetts. That's where Arkham was in Lovecraft's stories. I hope there's alot of good Lovecraft references here and there.
I need to get back into New Vegas, install the Tale of Two Wastelands as well. I'm just super lazy to install all the mods. Steam workshop spoiled me to hell and back.
I just thought about something. Massachusetts. That's where Arkham was in Lovecraft's stories. I hope there's alot of good Lovecraft references here and there.
There were already some references in FO3, I wouldn't be surprised if they were in FO4 too.
My robot race playthrough of NV is going good, after Boone and power armor most things can be done with pretty quickly, also some kick ass robot perks Already at the dam fight and I haven't done many side missions, again, I'm always too focused on setting up the main story exactly to my plans I don't bother leaving and doing stuff Pulling out a nade launcher and killing all the Mk2's right after telling House I was going to help him is always fun though, too bad doing all the Yes Man stuff means everybody on the entire wasteland hates me
There were already some references in FO3, I wouldn't be surprised if they were in FO4 too.
There was a whole hidden sidequest for it. Pretty great stuff. That building actually had me a little frightened.
I assume stage 7 is referring to how bad the cities got after getting blown to smithereenies?
Are there any Enclave related mods for Fallout NV? I used the Roleplayer's Alternate Start, and started as an Enclave Remnant only to find out there's only one side quest for that and it's a really small one. I want MORE!

Until you actually finish a quest, you're looking for leads until you get to where you need to be.
http://vaultofthefuture.net/ so what is this looks fake but idk
Arsehole Mod Idea
scn ArseholeScript float timer short firstRun begin GameMode if firstRun == 0 set timer to 360 playsound MUSNVJohnnyGuitar set firstRun to 1 else if timer > 0 set timer to timer - getSecondsPassed else set timer to 360 playsound MUSNVJohnnyGuitar endif endif end
Starts playing Johnny Guitar every five minutes. Not from the Pip Boy radio or anything, just plays.

Well fuck, I encountered a bug where I keep rapidly taking damage like if I were in a toxic cloud, is there anyway to fix this or am I going to have to load a save prior to Dead Money? Really don't want to start DM all over again.

I looked for a command that would reset your player status (no addictions, debuffs, ect) but I couldn't find one.

Okay I found a work around, I had to install this mod which disables the toxic cloud damage and disables the radios making you blow up. Removes a lot of the challenge but if that's that only way, oh well.
I assume stage 7 is referring to how bad the cities got after getting blown to smithereenies?
I guess that's one way to look at it, if only because it says Las Vegas is Unknown and doesn't say for Boston. I don't know what the acronyms stand for (is NCRA New California Republic Army or something?) so it's kind of hard to make any judgement on that at this point. Though, when you say "how bad the cities got", do you mean how badly they were bombed, or how much they've descended into anarchy in the interceding time?
