Honestly, I don't like OWB, story-wise. It tries to sell itself far too much on the wild 'n wacky aspects and suspension of disbelief that it simply doesn't fit with the rest of the DLC's. And I don't know about you, but I don't find the excision of organs for comedic effect actually funny, I find it pretty fucking disturbing to be honest. That one Organ Donor sketch from The Meaning of Life, for example, makes me run for cover.

And it tries to mix seriousness with the sheer absurdity and comedy, such as the Lobotomites being [del]copypasted marked men with a different race[/del] really dark and grimy and stuff, and also Little Yangtze and the Ulysses/Elijah?Christine story. It just doesn't mix at all. [editline]gah[/editline] RIP automerge.
You mean how they did it in the original games? Back when Wild Wasteland was just called 'I made a new character'?
Gotta disagree. Lonesome Road has gotta be the best DLC just for the absolute mixup the environment is. It's one of very, very few looks we've gotten at anything similar to life shortly after the Great War.
oh god no, the story was terrible (running around with this evil dude you've never met hacking your ED-E constantly to taunt you) while trying to navigate all the trash-filled collapsed ruins was god awful, i like being able to have a clearish path to take not having to stare at a wall of garbage and figure out i need to go left, also the red-glare was way too tame damage wise then my biggest beef [sp]was how the hell did people find out that you nuked whoever... you were the only person to walk out of the divide, i don't think id go around bragging how i nuked NCR if i did[/sp] of all the DLCs, OWB was the only one to have fallout's quirkeyness, and its the only one that was not like "oh good thing your here, we're going to totally fuck over the world in like 20 minutes, go gather some crap and come back here to stop me"
You mean how they did it in the original games? Back when Wild Wasteland was just called 'I made a new character'?
Except FO1 and FO2 were actually rather grim overall in tone. The LOLWACKY aspects were random encounters. The only difference that Wild Wasteland brought was making them optional.
Mothership Zeta was pretty bad Point Lookout was probably my favorite DLC from Fallout 3
like the holograms of the woman, with that evil face of hers, or the silent companion you find who just stares at you.
IMO, Christine was actually somewhat of a relief in comparison with Dean 'The Cuntpocalypse' Domino whinging constantly because you remotely said he might be wrong, and Dog/God being fucking mental. She was tiny, bald, and mute, but you could tell through dialogue that she was the straight-man of the trio and was more than aware of the fucking insanity of what was going on.
I feel like the only person that likes honest hearts :v: Anyway can someone explain why this bullshit is happening?
I'd be more confused about the powderganger not being able to walk over a rock :v:
Mothership Zeta was pretty bad Point Lookout was probably my favorite DLC from Fallout 3
I felt like the aliens didn't just fit into Fallout 3. I'd prefer if they were just easter eggs like they have always been.
I think that it was just rushed out the door. There was a huge amount of corridor combat, tons of glitches (missing icons, locked doors not opening), the final battle is just a button mash, and all of the optional areas are closed off when you leave. The aesthetics were pretty much the only redeeming value, apart from the Epoxys and 1 or 2 new weapons.
I'm pretty sure it's real. This is really well planned out to be honest and really, as others have pointed out, the bandwidth costs would be killing the random individual right about now.
They found out the bandwith cost, while not worth it to most people, isn't really that high.
i bought fallout 1, but it crashes every time I try and explore whatever is four tiles east of the starting tile :(
Mothership Zeta was pretty bad Point Lookout was probably my favorite DLC from Fallout 3
I think the Pitt was my favorite. Also, going back and playing Fallout 3, despite it's flaws it is just as good as New Vegas in my opinion because what it lacks in gameplay and characters it makes up for its immersive world, dark tones, and polish (I can get it to run nice and stable for as long as I want for the most part; New Vegas crashes all the fucking time though)
I have New Vegas on PC from ages ago but I don't have of the DLC's. Hurm. I wonder if it's worth playing a vanilla game. I do love the DLC an awful lot. Also I was trying to find some essential New Vegas mods, but all I found was disgusting anime porn shit, what would you guys reccomend to make a great game better?
I just use some smaller things like manual reload, killable children, etc. My only big mods are classic fallout weapons and a world of wacky(disabled though). I have some small quest modifiers like BoS and House alliance.
I just bought The Fallout Pack on Steam for the sale, and the colors are all fucked up on Fallout and Fallout 2. I solved the problem, so I figured I should explain it here in case anyone else runs into it. (This applies to Windows 7 64-bit, and theoretically any Aero version of Windows) All I did was write a batch file in the fallout folder with the following text:
taskkill /F /IM Explorer.exe falloutw.exe Start explorer.exe
This kills the explorer task before starting the game, so you don't have aero shit going on in the background to fuck up the game. It works with any game that has this problem, you just need to replace "falloutw.exe" with whatever .exe you're using. Now, that's a working solution, but it's a hassle to navigate to a batch file every time you want to run the game, and Steam shortcuts can only be exe files. So I found This program (it's perfectly safe) that converts .bat files to .exe files, and you can even give it an icon! This should solve any color issues caused by running the old Fallout games on Vista or Windows 7. [editline]28th November 2013[/editline] Sorry if this is late, or if there's a less tedious solution, but it's the only way that works for me (without installing that patch)
i bought fallout 1, but it crashes every time I try and explore whatever is four tiles east of the starting tile :(
Sorry to say but you should never buy the old Fallout games on steam. They run like crap and have no compatibility at all with modern systems. Get the GOG versions. You know what really grinds my gears in New Vegas? The lack of fucking trenchcoats and dusters. There's like, one duster and it's in Primm. I WANT TO BE A BADASS COWBOY DESPERADO WHERE ALL MY LONGCOATS AT
They were too busy putting the time into the Veteran Ranger's outfit which imo looks pretty mediocre at best until we got the Lonesome Road one
I have never finished an NCR playthrough, so up until Lonesome Road the Ranger armor was a no go for me.
I felt like the aliens didn't just fit into Fallout 3. I'd prefer if they were just easter eggs like they have always been.
Why don't they fit in? The wiki makes it seem like they weren't just easter eggs. I haven't played the first 2 games but wiki says there are 3 items in them which were apparently developed using Alien technology, for one of them it says "According to itself, Skynet, a self-aware computer, was conceived and developed in the year 2050 through the use of alien technology." The way the Aliens are portrayed in Fallout 3 also fits in with the 50's idea of how Aliens would be.

You can shoot him in the face during the quest Debt Collector for it.

I have such a hard time at the New Vegas nexus. So much of it is porn and lore raping stuff. Has anyone compiled a list of kind of like, fixes and little tweaks not outright game changers? I'm happy with the game
Red Lucy wears one, too.
I'm trying to RP a desperado is murdering a woman then stripping her naked to wear her clothes something in character

That is the internet condensed I guess. I played these games on console and only bought them on Steam today (well, 3 and the DLC at least) so I want to get the full experience /v/ tells me this is the best list for Fo3 mods? >FWE >Unofficial Patch >WMK >GNR radio extender (100 extra tracks) >FOSE and Fallout Stutter Remover >Fellout >DC Interiors >Wasteland Redesigned or whatever the NPC face fixing mod is called >ENB suite of your choice
Alright, just did my first playthrough of new vegas, Second playthrough time. Energy weapons or melee?
Alright, just did my first playthrough of new vegas, Second playthrough time. Energy weapons or melee?
Melee. New Vegas has more love for that.
