The damage mod I use places a huge emphasis on armor, so early game is like this except with bodyshots too. Not as crazy, but you can down everyone you see up until Novac with a 1-2 357 shots. (And vice versa. Much time is spent up against a corner pre-lining up your shot in third person.)

What mod is that?
Sounds interesting and painful
Are there any good mods for FONV that improve texture quallity and foliage?
Also where do these square dots on foliage come from? It looks horrible.
So in your guys' opinion, which vault experiments are the most dark and twisted
Vault 42

I recommend:
NMC's Texture Pack for overall goodness:
http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/43135/?
Ojo Bueno for various miscellaneous stuff NMC does not touch:
http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/39755/?
And the Improved LOD Noise Texture mod for making super distant hills not look like shit:
http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/46451/?
As for the dots on faraway foliage, that's just how the game renders it, there's nothing you can do about that.
edit:
Oh, and I uploaded NMC's Medium pack so that you don't have to download it from the Nexus because people were complaining about how shitty the speeds are.

Part 2
Now if only someone could reupload everything else from nexus because the entire site runs like ass.
I just booted up my heavily modded New Vegas after a couple months and now the damn thing can't even stay up on it's feet for 3 minutes... I haven't changed anything so what the hell

And I can't really locate what's causing it and (realistically) safely remove it at this point.

I'm already pissed that I found myself at Dead Money WITH Project Nevada. A winner's combination.
What's with Bethesda's cheap budget on the Fallout series? Surely they can't actually be that cheap for licensing songs and hiring well known actors for once. Or maybe I'm underestimating how expensive that would be?
Wow, I quit. I don't know what happened but I really can't be assed to fix this.

Is there a conflict detector that actually, like, works?

What do you mean? Ron Perlman, Liam Neeson, Malcom McDowell; all of them are big name actors and all worked on Fallout 3. Really, it is hard to get actors too agree to voicing video games because they are the big controversial "thing" for old fuckers to pick at on Fox News and the like, so if your name gets tied with a controversial name it could "screw you over" (it wouldn't but, in the eyes of an actor's/actress' agent, even a small popularity drop is huge). That, and why bother hiring big-name talent when you can find others who are just as good voice acting wise (part of the reason actors are so famous is for their looks and their expressive talent, both of which are kind of lost in voice acting) for cheaper.
I think it's better with lesser known songs, I think if it was too well known, it would take me out of the game.
ron perlman + danny trejo
all i need
Rex, what the fuck.

Basically you get one shot with a 9mm if you are just wearing a T-shirt or something, but power armor makes you practically immune to anything below a 308.(Beware anyone with an AMR or Brush gun, they will fuck your shit even with power armor) Combine with vanilla difficulty settings and Project Nevada's health multipliers to tweak to your fancy. Compatible with all weapon mods, but not armor mods (The armor mods won't have their values changed and will be horribly overpowered)
I love it personally, it makes combat fast and exiting but not an instant-death fest ('Cept early game, since nobody has any decent armor).

well thats great and all but they only put like 4 licensed songs into new vegas, but the background music in this game is amazing if you ever stop to listen to it

i just re-launched my game, this time ive basically gone with all energy weapons and light armor. i have alternate start mod on which is great because it spawned me in prim, and i started as a brotherhood scribe. i had just a recharger pistol but man this thing is overpowered in the beginning of the game
[editline]30th November 2013[/editline]
my plan is to hit ~15 and then go do OWB, but i need to boost my speech skill a lot
I've always thought that the fallout games would look 1000x better if they implemented a far better shadow/lighting system. Change that and the game would be completely different because to me the current one looks like ass!
How is FWE for Fallout 3? It sounds more difficult but not in an unbalanced way in the sense that it is based more in realism and is comparable to, say, STALKER. I mean, nothing in Fallout is realistic by any means, it just sounds like it tries to reduce the meta gamey aspects.
The things that worry me are "is it too hard" and "is it fair"? I don't mind difficulty if it is fair and balanced, but since these games weren't built with something like this in mind they can sometimes have issues with balancing. I just want to know what people think before trying it myself because I have a lot of mods that would need to be disabled due to incompatibility.
Expect to die constantly and never have enough ammo since the price of ammo is fucking insane in that mod.

Even the not so great ENB shadows for New Vegas make it look a hell of a lot better.

On the music front, licensing music for usage in works is voodoo. Weird, spooky, creepy voodoo that barely anyone wholly comprehends.
[editline]30th November 2013[/editline]
Them using public domain songs was actually fucking genius, to be honest. It probably saved a good few thousand in licensing rights.
For the guy who discovered the horrors of fallout nexus, go to Files drop down menu > top files > Most endorsed files of all-time (non-adult)
There's still a bit of sorting, because if majority likes it doesn't mean it's good *cough*call of duty*cough*, but that should ease the job for you.
Sorry if I'm asking in the wrong place, but for some reason when I try to open up the Nexus Mod Manager, it tells me that I'm running it in a sandbox and refuses to open. I've put it on every exception list that my anti-virus has and even turned it off to see if it was it and even after that, it still says that it is running in a sandbox. I have no idea what to do, and after searching around on Google for quite a while, none of it has helped. Anyone else here had this issue? I just want to install some mods for New Vegas.
Okay, after playing a fuckload of new vegas, Doing everything and unlocking every steam achievement, im going to get back to fo3.

You just pulled that out of your ass. The reason is that its fucking expensive.
[editline]30th November 2013[/editline]
I swear, facepunch and its persecution complex with vida games
Better New Vegas is legit one of the best mods. So much shit added to the map, and theres now a more or less actual city in comparison to the vanilla game. plus so many raiders.
Nothing like sneaking around a city filled with raiders at lvl 2 with a lever action shotgun and 30 rounds
Hey guys, I'm having a pretty bad problem here. I just started New Vegas for the first time on my new computer, having played 100+ hours on my old one. I get all finished setting up my character, and whenever Doc Mitchell gives me the Pip Boy, my game crashes. Every single time. I know it's not mods, because I deactivated them all to see if it was the problem, and I used the verify game cache function multiple times on steam, and each time it says "1 file failed to validate, file will be downloaded". Any advice?
Ron Perlman
Ron Perlman doesn't turn down most work unless he has something else that gets in the way, and besides that he's voiced the narrator for every single Fallout game.
I really loved new vegas, and sunk 206 hours into the vanilla game. However, i never ended up buying the DLC's. I figured that since the ultimate edition was only $12, it'd be well worth it. However, it says that i already own it. I own the base edition but not the ultimate. It would cost me $20 to buy all the DLC separately. Any help? I really don't want to buy all the DLC separately.
