God damn my new vegas has been crashing ever more. I think it's time to remove some mods.

Unless you've got an internal source that proves it I'm gonna have to call BS. Just like Fallout 3 before it was based so heavily on Oblivion's engine that the spell system remained in the game intact and was used quite heavily for item effects, FO4 is most likely going to be using Skyrim's engine modified in the same way.

Bethesda is nothing if not predictable and will want to use the living hell out of the Creation engine. Expect 4-6 games on it before they even consider replacing it.

first time i played that dlc, i kept killing follows-chalk in the ambush. after a few tries, i realized he's friendly
When I first played the DLC I was like 'wtf these natives are so op' whilst I ducked for cover because they were insta-gibbing the caravan.
So why is the timer back to 15 hours?
Also does anyone have any mod list for FONV? That makes fallout new vegas feel fresh again, i played almost 300 hours and would like something new, i havent finished lonesome road yet or the legion ending. I currently have NMC's textures, fellout, vurts mod , WoP also have NVSE. Are there any high res skins for npcs, weapons ?

Personally, Better new vegas and Interiors add alot of content and there is a classic fallout weapons pack, Project Neveda rebalances the game and also adds alot of guns.
I Think that there is a High Res Gunrunner pack out there but not sure about vanilla things.

Wait, are you serious, Fallout 3 has spells still in the coding? Is there a way to access them through the console or with mods?

I've gotten so adept at fixing my Gamebryo games that I hope the next engine they use is either really fucking good or at least kinda works somewhat the same way so I can keep fucking and then unfucking my games
I'm just waiting for them to have the "Pipboy 4000" and it's just a reskin of the skyrim inventory UI

The pipboy in Fallout 3/NV is just a reskinned Oblivion UI, I would definitely not put it past them to do the same thing with Skyrim and Fallout 4

Yuuup! All the item effects(IE Enclave Tesla armor is +10 Energy Weapons, +2STR and -1AGL) are enchantments under the hood. They're even called as much in the GECK. Spells are used partly by the perk system, partly by the scripting engine(Usually when an NPC/player effect is required situationally/without equipping something), and the various weapon effects are also spells. They may not be called as much in-game, and indeed without looking in the GECK there's no way to tell as the abilities granted by apparel/weapons are fairly logical effects, but the spell/enchantment system is still in use in Fallout. If you could add custom animations you could very easily bring spellcasting into the game as the underlying mechanics are still there and still in use. Same holds true for New Vegas. I wouldn't be surprised if it was wholly possible to bring the enchanting system back to life as well, though explaining the necromancy involved in making your CAR set people on fire from a lore standpoint is not an easy task...
It's actually a pretty good idea they had, honestly. Instead of re-coding a system to give item effects they just hid the name from gameplay and used the spell/enchantment system that was already in the engine.

Not sure. I imagine you could make a 'gun' that casts spells, but without the ability to add in custom animations for actions it's nearly impossible to bring spellcasting back as it was in Oblivion. As I said the underlying mechanics are still there and still in use but it's locked away by an asinine engine limitation.

I thought it was the same code too, but the only thing similar to the one from yesterday is the CQ CQ CQ, the other things are different.
So the end of the ARG is just another cryptic-ass morse code signal? Seems kinda naff imo considering we've been having the same type of shit since it started.
