Either this is fake (what isn't?) or it's not going to be a very good game (for an obvious reason).

Like, really a talking protagonist? I don't think so.

That was used as an example as stated above the picture.
And you're acting like a talking protagonist is a bad thing.
No fucking way that's real. Circlejerk all you want about Bethesda being bad at writing but that narration dialogue is abysmal and there's no way it would pass any quality assurance, nor do I expect they'd ever drop Ron Perlman as the introduction narrator.
I mean it's Kotaku
[editline]11th December 2013[/editline]
Even if it's just shit whipped up for a casting call I really doubt the validity of the article
And you're acting like a talking protagonist is a bad thing.
I don't see any real reason for a voiced protagonist. Unlike Mass Effect where, in the end, you're always playing the same person, in games like Fallout or the Elder Scrolls you're inventing the character and everything about them
And you're acting like a talking protagonist is a bad thing.
That's because it is. It's just doesn't fit with Fallout or any Bethesda game for that matter. It's always been about crafting your own character and having a voice all of a sudden really ruins that.
nor do I expect they'd ever drop Ron Perlman as the introduction narrator.
If Ron Perlman does not say "War, War never changes" or someone else does, it is not a real fallout game
If Ron Perlman does not say "War, War never changes" or someone else does, it is not a real fallout game
That must be why Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel was so bad

No, you don't understand
Ron Perlman is still the intro narrator. He's the player character, too
(nah but for real, I seriously doubt this, it's Kotaku after all)
Is there mods I can do that with?
enclave commander C:
I posted this on r/fallout too but I made a collection of big images if you guys ever want to print out some posters.

Also do you guys prefer Nevada Skies over Project Reality?
btw on the kotaku article, the character art looks too cartoony
but that's just me
Oh my fuck
I spoke to this woman in Fallout 2, and she spoke about how she missed the cat she had when she was younger. She then explained why you don't see cats anymore.
[sp]everyone killed them all then ate them out of desperation as they wouldn't fight back[/sp]
not sure if I should laugh or cry
I'm sure there's a cat somewhere in the world, just like I'm sure there are horses somewhere, just not in the Core Region or the Mojave.

Survivor2299 said that he originally was planning to release stuff on the 11th as well, although that article says they got whatever that is 2 weeks ago it's interesting to note
Also reading that script, whatever that is it sure as hell is no Fallout/Bethesda game and I don't even mean that in an elitist "dude fo1&2 were the best", it just doesn't fit into ANYTHING that has been done with Fallout
I'm sure there's a cat somewhere in the world, just like I'm sure there are horses somewhere, just not in the Core Region or the Mojave.
Didn't one of the writers confirm on twitter or wherever that horses were extinct?
Didn't one of the writers confirm on twitter or wherever that horses were extinct?
Lore-wise, horses are completely extinct.

maybe not in that region, but it's impossible for cats to really go extinct from the whole planet or even just america
they'll just go feral again (much faster than dogs because they were never properly domesticated in the first place) and soon you'll have fun giant FEV mutant cats jumping from trees and breaking your neck

I wonder if Australia has actual drop bears.
I'm surprised Someguy2000 leaving NV modding recently hasn't been bought up, yet. He was the guy who made New Vegas Bounties l/ll and was in the process of making another mod (Siege of Firebase Zulu) that I was helping him out with before he up and announced he was departing.
He left because of the Fo4 ARG. This was before it turned out to be a hoax.
I haven't heard anything from him since.
All I was aware of was that he was taking forever to get NVB out of it's new beta stage to be used with the esm of the Someguy Series
Ulysses is the opposite of the Courier, he comes from a tribe conquered by the Legion where you come from the NCR, he goes to the DLC areas looking for answers when you go there just because you can, he is absolutely consumed by his obsession with the past while you have no real past to speak of not that you care about.
What I found funny about that is in Goodsprings you can ask who the NCR were. Now they either just missed a plot hole, or we can attribute that to the Courier's memory being jumbled from the bullet in their head.

You can ask that kind of thing because they need a way for new players to know what the fuck is going on.
Okay wow my inner fanboy is busting a fuckin' nut here I am so not okay with ron perlman not narrating and my character talking
Okay wow my inner fanboy is busting a fuckin' nut here I am so not okay with ron perlman not narrating and my character talking
its fake though
blatantly obvious this time 'round
[editline]11th December 2013[/editline]
also i dont think you know what the term "bustin' a nut" means :v:
I don't think I do at all know what it means no I do not
but yeah I know Bethesda is dumb and raped muh fallout because elitism but I don't think they would do away with a tradition like Ron narrating or the PC being silent
Also, the PC couldn't possibly speak. There's way too much fucking dialogue, and the conversations in bethesda games don't really work like that.
You can ask that kind of thing because they need a way for new players to know what the fuck is going on.
I wonder how the New Vegas world is seen through the eyes of someone who only played 3. Every faction from 3 is there, but different.

Bethesda may have piss-poor inhouse writers, but they wouldn't uproot something as established as Ron Pearlman describing the intro.
Actually there isn't that much dialogue to be honest, at least compared to other Obsidian or Interplay titles.
guys I'm legit terrified
it's a common fact Bethesda only makes decisions to piss ME off
they're going to do it again and I can't stop them
Actually there isn't that much dialogue to be honest, at least compared to other Obsidian or Interplay titles.
The problem isn't so much the amount of dialogue, but rather, trying to force a voice, means forcing the player to take up a pre-defined "character." Bethesda places a lot of emphasis on personal character development and play styles; by defining a voice, they take away that freedom, and Bethesda would never alienate their target audience with a stupid move like that.
having a geck problem, sometimes when i make an NPC only 1 or 2 dialouge options show up and the rest are gone. yes, i have done "getsetid" or whatever it is. anyone know a fix?
