The problem isn't so much the amount of dialogue, but rather, trying to force a voice, means forcing the player to take up a pre-defined "character." Bethesda places a lot of emphasis on personal character development and play styles; by defining a voice, they take away that freedom, and Bethesda would never alienate their target audience with a stupid move like that.
BUT WHAT IF THEY DID FALLOUT 4 WILL FEATURE REGENERATING HEALTH TROY BAKER AS THE VAULT DWELLER DUAL WIELDING QUICK MELEE SPRINTING IT'S ALL GONE TO SHIT M8
DUAL WIELDING
That'd be the shit though
I 100% believe Fallout 4 is being made. I even believe it's in Boston! I just cannot buy into that script at all, it reads awfully. Bethesda wouldn't voice the guy. I'm gonna keep saying that until I believe it.
imagine fallout 4 with competitive pvp
Fallout 3 and multi-core CPUs = spontaneous crashes. Remember that folks.
imagine fallout 4 with competitive pvp
This could be introduced in a really cool way (dunno if any of you ever played that one buggy NV Multiplayer mod) and I actually wouldn't mind seeing what could be done with fallout and multiplayer (strictly optional of course; VATS would have to be removed, it'd be pretty different come to think of it) mostly having the idea of coexistence in the wasteland of wherever - cooperation OR competitiveness can happen, depending on the other players
I wonder how the New Vegas world is seen through the eyes of someone who only played 3. Every faction from 3 is there, but different.
It's interesting. I played the older ones after 3 and NV because I didn't really want to try them (this was before I came to my senses, and I was a bit of a moron when it came to tastes in gaming). I didn't quite get the NCR or other references to things in past Fallout lores, nor why the Brotherhood was entirely different. By the same token, I realized why the Outcasts in Fallout 3 were the way they were. [editline]11th December 2013[/editline]
Fallout 3 and multi-core CPUs = spontaneous crashes. Remember that folks.
my i5's ran Fallout 3 fine with only a single digit number of crashes in 200-300 hours of playing - remember that folks
FALLOUT 4 WILL FEATURE REGENERATING HEALTH
New Vegas had regenerating health
DUAL WIELDING
That'd be great
New Vegas had regenerating health
Pfft. Only true players play on HC. [editline]poo[/editline] Losers play on anything else.
Pfft. Only true players play on HC.
I only ever play on Hardcore because if I'm going to let a game call me a fucking CASUAL then who am I???
I wonder how the New Vegas world is seen through the eyes of someone who only played 3. Every faction from 3 is there, but different.
Admittedly, it was different, but unique and actually made a bit more sense. The biggest thing was going from the Brotherhood being awesome and powerful to nearly non-existent. That was pretty much my only 'huh' thing about it.
Pfft. Only true players play on HC. [editline]poo[/editline] Losers play on anything else.
Or just go to the medical clinic and the get the regeneration implant, or take one of a variety of perks that provide regeneration based on circumstance
God I really hope F4 Doesn't take place in Boston
And I would play hardcore but I'm so shite at combat that all my followers end up dead, and I care far more about their stories than I do about a meaningless accomplishment with some paper thin immersion [editline]11th December 2013[/editline]
God I really hope F4 Doesn't take place in Boston
Why
Why
because it will be filled with a bunch of Android bullshit, that personally in fallout 3 i didn't find it vary interesting
The problem isn't so much the amount of dialogue, but rather, trying to force a voice, means forcing the player to take up a pre-defined "character."
That'd be the shit though
Personally, I'm kinda hoping for there to be more things for us to do with AP; currently all we use AP for is VATS, whilst I'd probably have it be fuel for sprinting or other special abilities, kind of like how you use things like the Mauler in VATS. I just wanna use my AP for more than just do a free-shot diceroll, and on that note is it just me or is the gunplay in the Bethesda Fallouts kinda weak? Sure you can blast someone's head off or zap them into ash or goo, but I dunno, I don't recall feeling much kick behind the guns. Also, like I brought up many months about, maybe the PC could have psi abilities of some sort, since psi abilities are indeed a thing in the Fallout universe.
because it will be filled with a bunch of Android bullshit, that personally in fallout 3 i didn't find it vary interesting
Considering there were only two androids in Fallout 3, who barely existed outside a short quest, I think Boston and the Commonwealth still has plenty of potential to be an interesting new location
And I would play hardcore but I'm so shite at combat that all my followers end up dead, and I care far more about their stories than I do about a meaningless accomplishment with some paper thin immersion [editline]11th December 2013[/editline] Why
I play hardcore, but I'd mod my companions to be essential if I could be assed.
Considering there were only two androids in Fallout 3, who barely existed outside a short quest, I think Boston and the Commonwealth still has plenty of potential to be an interesting new location
Androids are Bullshit, and I don't think they belong in fallout
I play hardcore, but I'd mod my companions to be essential if I could be assed.
I do like the other features of hardcore, but I'd sacrifice all the Doctor Bags in the world to help Veronica with her sidequest, which I can't do if some dickhead Albino Radscorpion has just murdered her
Androids are Bullshit, and I don't think they belong in fallout
Why's that
Because Androids are fucking bullshit [editline]11th December 2013[/editline] Best 1000th post
Okay wow my inner fanboy is busting a fuckin' nut here I am so not okay with ron perlman not narrating and my character talking
Basically my reddit post rather accurately sums up my feelings:
After survivor 2299 i dont think i can trust again.

I don't want to. What little we got to see of the script was shit. Ron Perlman needs to narrate the intro. If he doesn't, I will burn my copy of the game. Also, didn't the hoaxer say he was writing a script? Couldn't this, you know, be that script?
Well I'm convinced
you better be
Also, didn't the hoaxer say he was writing a script? Couldn't this, you know, be that script?"
Are you perhaps suggesting that Kotaku might be riding the coattails of something popular to make people go to their website??? [editline]11th December 2013[/editline] aka Straight up lying
Are you perhaps suggesting that Kotaku might be riding the coattails of something popular to make people go to their website??? [editline]11th December 2013[/editline] aka Straight up lying
Oh but they'd never do that. I totally trust Kotaku. In fact, here is another post I made in response to the author of that article that represents my feelings:
You know the hoaxer was writing a script just like this, right? You also know that few people ever view Kotaku as a trustworthy site, and with good reason, right? So if you really have proven they are real, show us the evidence, because after the effort that went into the Survivor 2299 hoax, there is no way in hell I will believe this, especially because it could be the exact same script the hoaxer was working on anyways.

Because Androids are fucking bullshit [editline]11th December 2013[/editline] Best 1000th post
Oh man if you think androids are bullshit then you haven't heard of psykers.
Oh man if you think androids are bullshit then you haven't heard of psykers.
There are psykers in Fallout? Oh wow there are Yeah that's fine nothing ridiculous there but intelligent robots fuck that!!!!!!
Oh man if you think androids are bullshit then you haven't heard of psykers.
they were considered a mistake to put in androids dont mesh with the technology seen in fallout at all, all the other AI things are huge blocky computers
they were considered a mistake to put in androids dont mesh with the technology seen in fallout at all, all the other AI things are huge blocky computers
Unless of course a sealed off society of top grade scientists invented new technology or something Nah that's crazy no advancement ever [editline]11th December 2013[/editline] Oh and I think the conversation regarding the existence of micro-scale computers and shit was had a few pages back, and it seems obvious that not everything was powered by vacuum tubes
