I don't understand why they elected to name it "Project Brazil".
I haven't played Fallout 3 in a long time. Sadly I'm on a console, so no mods for me. Hm. Is it even worth going for, or should I just dick around in New Vegas like I usually do?
F03 isn't as good as new Vegas in most peoples eyes but it's still a hell of a lot of fun to play, stomping around DC and stuff is always a ton of fun, and the DLCs are pretty good too.
If you're bored of NV and can stand the weapons handling, go for it.

Within the first hour of NV I knew it was going to be a much better Fallout game. Fallout 3 isn't necessarily bad, it's just that NV outshines it dramatically and most importantly continues the story of the NCR on the West Coast. It was awesome finding the familiar geckos and blasting them just like in FO2.
Oh, and another thing, the skill requirements aren't bullshit, quite frankly. Levelling up Speech actually means something since you need x minimum level rather than an incrementing %success.
I love New Vegas, I'm just so used to it.
Fallout 3 was my first Fallout game, and I loved it. I loved The Pitt and Anchorage, I loved modding it when I figured it out.
My favorite mod, was the player mansion you got. The big fancy white mansion.
I like New Vegas alot, but I have fond memories of Fallout 3 though.
I don't understand why they elected to name it "Project Brazil".
It's named after the movie "Brazil".
I've done a couple of playthroughs of the mod, and it has really bad balance issues IMO. It also seems set on a player archetype.

Harold's an FEV mutant, not a ghoul.
Harold's an FEV mutant, not a ghoul.
He's still turning into a tree that's terraforming the landscape and inspired a cult of Druids.
Currently going on a psycho killing spree in New Vegas. I call it:
Wasting the wastelanders
Having wiped out Novac, Helios One and some other settlements together with a not yet upgraded Ed-e and Arcade is quite fun. Arcade is a real hardcore psycho, he does not complain and seems to have no moral issues wiping out a settlement without reason, as long as I'm not dresses as a legionnaire.
Anyone used the Project Brazil mod?

Can somebody help me fix this load order?
Most of these aren't working
I'm 80% certain that the man in the first image in that Kotaku article is wearing an FO1/2/VB vault-suit so yes it's fake.
Millenias weapon mods are awfully pretty, but when I walked into that little roadside stop between primm and that ncr base and had a full raging bull mag poured into my face by a raider I almost regretted it a little
Whenever I am about to leave vault 101 the game randomly freezes, it usually happens when I try to kill the 2 guards. I looked it up and heard that it's a problem with my cpu but that can't be true because my specs are exactly the same as the last time I played the game.
The biggest problem with androids to me is that they just aren't that interesting in my opinion.
Everyone creams themselves over Blade Runner and don't get me wrong, it is an awesome movie, but I like it more for its execution than its concepts. Androids just aren't that interesting. So what, they are basically just humans made with machinery? What makes them any different from slaves or those under the influence of mind control and what not.
Were it not for the overwhelming evidence presented against it in Fallout 3, I would have assumed it was just a big hoax. The Institute is just an advanced form of slavers who indoctrinated people so heavily into subordination through hypnosis and other psychological effects that they honestly believed they were artificial humans, and that Zimmer was just bullshitting to make the whole thing seem less immoral. The key words that are used to deactivate the androids and the commands would just be like hypnosis and other techniques; they are so used to responding a certain way, being trained from birth, that they act like honest to god robots.
However, the whole reconstructive surgery and android part thing does negate that a little. I mean, I suppose there always is the explanation of Pinkerton just being a batshit old plastic surgeon (which he kind of is anyways) and the part just being some random nonsense to lend credibility to the lie and get you to help the Railroad and prove to Zimmer that the android is dead (and he accepts knowing that there really isn't any android but doesn't want to reveal the secret and be hunted as a slaver). All in all, I think that would be a whole hell of a lot better than "replicated humans and crazy science shit" because it fits the lore better and, in my opinion, is a bit more clever.
i think the problem is that they don't really add anything to the game's themes. the games are supposed to be about letting go of the past and moving onto better things, as well as not letting nostalgia stop you from realizing how things might be better than they used to be, and acceptance that you're in a different situation that requires different thinking. they're very deep and profound themes that mesh extremely well with the setting.
and then WHOOPS suddenly ANDROIDS are androids any different from slaves what is a slave what is a human are androids humans can a human be a slave blah blah BLAH BLADE RUNNER did you get the reference IT'S BLADE RUNNER
it's not that it doesn't fit in the actual setting, it's just that it's completely ignoring why the setting is like that in the first place. it's not just that vacuum tubes and jingoist dystopias are cool (they are but that's besides the point), they have an actual meaning to them that's expressed by the plot and surroundings - a meaning that isn't conveyed appropriately by entirely different plots that have nothing to do with the core foundation of the games. that's why it still looks shoehorned in, even though it makes sense with the technology level of the games. so you COULD have androids, but should you really?
i think it's worth noting that i'm not entirely opposed to the idea, it's just that i don't trust anyone other than Obsidian to put it in in a way that makes sense. nobody else seems to get the games the same way they do.
just wanted to give my 2 pence
By the way, speaking of the Lonesome Road, I accidentally Hopeville with a missile. Could that have been prevented, or was the missile something I had to remove?
Also Bethesda needs to get Obsidian on as writers for 4llout if New Vegas was any indication of good writing.

Apparently this should work:
Open up the fallout.ini file in: My Documents\My Games\Fallout3
Find the line:
bUseThreadedAI=0
change it to:
bUseThreadedAI=1
Add another line after it and insert:
iNumHWThreads=2
I will fucking kill them if they even consider calling it '4llout'.
Yeah, 4llout is probably what jesters and fools would call it. *jingle jingle*

No, you have to blow up Hopeville to progress. Should've walked around and turned away!

This isn't fixing my load order at all, its just stuck on this screen and refuses do go past it
Did you run it as admin?
I got it to work, it's telling me everything is marked as active even though when I get in the game it tells me the Project Nevada HUD has an issue and then nothing from the mod works

remove the s in https://
Can you be more specific? What do you mean nothing works? And what does the game say about project Nevada HUD?
When I first load into the game it says "there seems to be a problem with your Project Nevada installation because the HUD extensions were not detected" I installed PN with FOMM, there are no other HUD mods aside from that, I've tried reinstalling once too
I can see some things like implants available to purchase and install but when I go to do that the game tells me that wasn't installed properly either
