Androids don't really work for me because they don't quite fit the aesthetic of the world
Stuff like brains in jars and Mister Handy's work because they're b-movie tropes
Androids are kind of too modern sci-fi to really work
Also again it's been discussed they also seem too high tech for the world
I don't really have a problem with Androids being in Fallout, but i don't like how they look from what we've seen so far. They shouldn't look completely human, you should be able to notice they are androids without them having to tell you.
You should replay it doing the House or Wild Card route. It feels great to quietly manipulate the entire Mojave into doing what you want while being called a hero by the people you're about to fuck over.
Or go Legion and tear the NCR to pieces, it's not as well fleshed out but its still fun.
snip im a dumbass they are just free games you get with a GOG account
Tried to get the free fallout games, GOG gave me a bunch of other games instead. Unless these are free games you get when you make a GOG account. Can't log into my account to get them, or see if I got the fallout games though. :(

Yeah, there are a lot of other free games. Try later in getting the games or downloading them, right now GOG is having much traffic due the free games.
So Im playing fallout 2, and I tried fighting Mechior for the first time not knowing what I was getting into.
My first mistake was not leaving the room immediately.

Metropolis?
The Day The Earth Stood Still?
Hell if you insist on the 50s style I, Robot was published as short stories between 1940 and 1950 before being collected into one volume.
Androids aren't against Fallout's style at all IMO, you just have to handle them properly. I doubt Securitrons and Robobrains are the most advanced robots after 200 years since the bombs fell. I don't think Fallout 3's basically human androids are the right way to go but an I, Robot or Metropolis style android could work well.
Got fallout from gog, enjoying it so far.
Interesting thing happened though. Was wondering around in the desert when I found a truck. Said truck contained 10,000 caps.
Alright then. :v:
About to get into Fallout 1, any tips/guides for someone who's only played the 3d additions to the series?

I'm guessing you have high luck
I'm guessing you have high luck
Only skill you'll ever need.
House or Wild Card route.
Well as much as I played NV I'm not exactly sure what this is to be honest.
Only skill you'll ever need.
Luck, agility and enough strenght and perception to be able to shoot things.
Well as much as I played NV I'm not exactly sure what this is to be honest.
House is simply doing what House says, Wild Card is becoming a leader yourself either to improve Vegas or to fuck everyone else over.

10 luck, finesse, and boost small guns past 150.
bah, fuck whoever mentioned mothership zeta crew
I installed it, made sure everything checked out with the load order, and bam
rip my save; after disabling the damn thing, it STILL crashes on load. That's assuming securerom isn't a buggy piece of garbage and tells me I don't even have a cd drive. Go figure, the mod's nexus page nor readme fucking tell you how to uninstall other than flat out disabling the file, but yeah there's more to it than that.
A plague o'er your fuckin' house.
The first part so far of Project Brazil was/is really interesting, considering it's like playing a whole new game. Sure, it has it's bugs, but it's actually pretty damn amazing.
And I still can't get over the intro for it:

It looked great, until I was thrown into a shitty, highschool coming-of-age film with really bad writing that shoehorned you into 2 classes.
I couldn't bear to get through the Vault because how bad the writing and dialogue was. It was as far from Fallout as it could have possibly been, and the whole thing was just, for lack of a better word, dumb.
Maybe it gets better later into it, or maybe it has gotten better in general since I played (I played practically right on release) but when I played it, it was so bad that I couldn't believe that it was the final product of all those hours of time. It's not that it was bad mechanically or anything, because it wasn't. It was just that the plot and characters were so shitty and seemed like they got ripped right from a cheesy 1980's highschool drama. In short, I thought it sucked.
"Hey there's the High Roller"
I just want to kill all of them is there a Mod which reduces it to a Minimum?
Oh Shit pageking

Not to mention the android wasn't from USA right? They keep mentioning commonwealth or something, how its more advanced and stuff.
....I just had a strange bug.
I was doing the quest Bye Bye Love where you need to reunite Joana and the Omerta, and after she asked me for help, she stripped off her items, and then jsut walked around like that
She's yet to put her clothes back on.
What.
I think it would be cool to see modern-day androids
It would be cool for a new faction (the one that's making these androids) to show up and jar everyone's complacency with technology that doesn't fit in with their sci-fi-movie technology.
Okay, gog is bugged as fucked. It won't recognize Fallout 1. Anytime I try to download that it gives me more Fallout 2.
Can anyone help me out? Crashing to desktop, getting the following FNVedit error:
[00:03] Background Loader: [WME - Honest Hearts.esm] Loading file
[00:03] Background Loader: Fatal: <EOSError: System Error. Code: 2.
The system cannot find the file specified>
[00:04] Background Loader: finished
Reinstalled honest hearts and tried loading without it, same error

Make sure that the Honest Hearts ESM is above WME - Honest Hearts.esm in the load order.
I got a problem that when I Alt-Tab my gamesound keeps repeating itself untill I switch back to the game again, kinda sounds like a bluescreen.
Is there any fix to this?

Shouldn't be having any errors, surely? The error started after I installed WME so I guess that could be a factor
Moved the dlc to the top, although I never had a problem before, same error, sadly
Christ, aren't you a bundle of joy? Every single post I've seen you make in this thread has been scorning or putting down someone else's posts.
Haha someone is really confident that their opinion is the dominant one
Sorry I forgot that classic Fallout is the only good Fallout, change is bad unless it's done by developers I approve of, then it's genius
Oh, god damnit. My New Vegas was working fine yesterday, then today I launch it up and it's having a fuckton of problems. Probably because I only have less than a gig left of space on the drive it's on. Well, time to do yet another clean install.
