Any must-have mods for tactics?
Man I hate when I find a mod that's great in theory, and is mostly solid, but then find out it's 30% anime or hipster garbage [editline]13th December 2013[/editline] Oh and now the Nexus is undergoing maintenance All those shitty body replacers, anime hairstyles, and dickgirl mods must be a terrible strain
holy fucking shit Fallout Tactics has motherfukin R.Lee Ermey best game ever

If I install a texture pack for New Vegas will it conflict with Fallout 3? [editline]13th December 2013[/editline] Or will it carry over when possible?
I never knew that FEV started out with benevolent intentions
It was meant to stop the New Plague by providing forced hyperimmunity, or something like that.
AWOP is like that but with terrible writing.
I enjoyed AWOP for the exploration and new items. I was usually focusing on those and not whatever story they had tried to implement.
If I install a texture pack for New Vegas will it conflict with Fallout 3? [editline]13th December 2013[/editline] Or will it carry over when possible?
What. Are you talking about the Requiem for the Capital Wasteland mod? That's the only way FO3 and NV overlap. They're entirely separate games.
What. Are you talking about the Requiem for the Capital Wasteland mod? That's the only way FO3 and NV overlap. They're entirely separate games.
It's called Tale of Two Wastelands now.
What. Are you talking about the Requiem for the Capital Wasteland mod? That's the only way FO3 and NV overlap. They're entirely separate games.
Obviously
It's so jarring when you have detailed building mods like AWOP and NV Interiors and you enter a vanilla building. Everything is just so bare.
It's so jarring when you have detailed building mods like AWOP and NV Interiors and you enter a vanilla building. Everything is just so bare.
Especially since ChuckSteel makes all of his interiors have everything lootable, even junk.
holy fucking shit Fallout Tactics has motherfukin R.Lee Ermey best game ever
AFAIK he did voiceovers for a few other games. He voiced Wawa in Crash Bandicoot: The wrath of Cortex. He also did voice work for all three Toy Story films and a few episodes of spongebob, just off the top of my head.
holy fucking shit Fallout Tactics has motherfukin R.Lee Ermey best game ever
Holy shit I thought that was just a guy imitating him.
I started a new save on my laptop so I can play at school. I walked South of Shady Sands and ran into the used car salesman, killed him, broke into the hut, and found two BB Guns. I thought they would be useless so I moved on into Vault 15. Missed more shots, got pissed. My friend suggested I try the BB gun. Fucking obliterated everything in that Vault in seconds. Also, I am also playing Tactics and I have found it is surprisingly fun. Very underrated just because it threw out some of the RPG elements.
I sneaked into vault 15 but I forgot to bring the rope to climb the elevator shaft; making me have to sneak back out, head to sandy shades, steal rope then come back. Or I would've came back if 4 mantises didn't kill me Also robbing people is the weirdest shit ever, you just rub them take there stuff in-front of everyone then walk away casually.
Whenever fallout 4 happens, it should have a final boss as unique as the master, as intimidating as Frank Horrigan, and as fun to fight as lanius /pipe dream
Whenever fallout 4 happens, it should have a final boss as unique as the master, as intimidating as Frank Horrigan, and as fun to fight as lanius /pipe dream
The Master was fucking terrifying. And for some reason reminded me of Shodan.
holy fucking shit Fallout Tactics has motherfukin R.Lee Ermey best game ever
Too bad he plays a massively racist piece of shit in that game. He shows some minor inexperience with acting in some of his debriefs as well, but his performance is actually pretty solid.
I made a mod which makes empty cans & bottles weigh nothing so that I could collect them. (fallout 3) http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/19958/? I made it some time ago and got to the point where I had filled my megaton house's bedroom with cans, to the point where there was about a 2ft tall pile of them shoved into the corner by the desk. I lost it when I got a new computer but I've remade it since I decided to reinstall. I'm installing new vegas again so I can make it for that too. If anyone wants any particular junk made weightless so they can collect it, let me know the name of the item and I'll add it in there too.
If anyone's interested, I've uploaded the New Vegas version too. I want to see you guy's collections of junk! http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/54510/?
The Master was fucking terrifying. And for some reason reminded me of Shodan.
And that's what made the master such a great final boss. He was a fucking monstrosity with an equally monstrous agenda.
"This is hopeless!" *proceeds to charge at laser armed badass with only a tire iron*
it would be nice to have AI that's not a generic zombie script with a couple additions (shoot until out of ammo, charge and attack until too low health, back off and then charge again). You know, arranging ambushes by waiting behind closed doors or something.
So what shall it be? Do you join the Unity, or do you die here? Join! DIE! Join! DIE!
Having them actively set traps would probably be pretty interesting as well. Also, here's a thought; instead of things as basic as "if low health, flee", implement some kind of rudimentary emotion scripts like fear factor, aggression, vengeful sorrow, confidence, etc. For example, fear factor would take into account the deeds you have done, your appearance/equipment, the size of the group attacking, etc, and if the odds against you are high enough they will be confident and attack you. But if you have a reputation as a crack-shot with the big iron on your hip (big iron on your hiiiiiiiiiiiiip~), or have been known to fashion apparel from the bones and hides of your fallen enemies, or even simply known to "take no prisoners", they may be hesitant to ambush you, perhaps going out of their way to avoid crossing your path, or even running for the hills when they see your pale skin and white Fu Manchu moustache. (kind of my character, "Nier", in a nutshell; a deathly-pale beardy Asian guy who might as well have come out of a Chinese ghost story about some sort of ghostly warrior) Having enemies that are smart enough to know when they don't stand a chance can be quite a relief, when you don't have to deal with annoying bandits because you wear a suit of armour made from the skulls and bones of the twenty men who tried to take you, the twenty men who made a slip. None of them would want to be number 21 who falls to the ranger with the big iron on his hip, especially when the handle of your big iron was fashioned from somebody's hip.
So I just lost the game by not bringing the water chip in time, You have no idea how that feels. There were 30 days left and I find the brotherhood of steel base, due to desperation I believed that they had the water chip, Or At least knew its location. But in order to join them I had to bring something from The Glow. It took me 18 days to get there, And guess what? I couldn't climb down into The Glow because I had no rope. Then I left the area and sat in the wasteland with my dog; knowing I couldn't save The Vault in time. Did I mention I also killed 2 Innocent women because I was in the raider base and didn't want to die?

Give the game some way of measuring fear and give characters appropriate responses to how low their meter was. Like someone with a full psych meter might charge at you and try to run you down but as you shoot at them their meter drains causing them to do shit like take cover or turn around and run away. Drop the meter low enough and enemies could drop their weapons to surrender or just drop to the ground in fear. It would also allow for things that aren't damage based to drain the meter like, as you said, what clothing you wear or your reputation, but it could also go further by having flashbangs or smoke grenades. Hell you could make it possible to play through the entire game without killing anyone but by being an absolute terror to your enemies. You could even give the player a psych meter which was determined by wisdom or some similar attribute and have their performance improve or deteriorate based on how their psych level was. Lower psych you cause you to be less accurate or make you fumble, while higher psych could give you a greater chance to crit or improve accuracy.Basically I'm saying steal the psych system from MGS4 and expand on i because it was a fucking brilliant idea.

Then again to some people it might come across as the game telling you what to feel, though that issue would likely be more of a "problem" in something like a horror game.
