For all those who missed the original fallout and fallout 2 there's always Wasteland 2 coming soon. You know, the sequel to the game that fallout tried to copy?
Fallout 2 is one of the few games which I believe should be remade. Things such as the AI, UI, Sound effects, graphics could be revamped. Seeing a shotgun sprite instead of a Fn FAL REALLY annoyed me. I mean, I understand sprites leaves space for your imagination to fill in, which is great, but when I CLEARLY see a shotgun, imagination can't imagine a Fn FAL. EDIT: Jesus, I just find out about Wasteland 2. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

One lore friendly one with 40s, 50s, and maybe some early 60s Holiday music. And one non lore friendly with just regular christmas music. At least just as an excuse to have this very song on there. This fits, but it's modern.

The stories about New Vegas crashing were not exaggerated. If anything they seem like understatements.
This fits, but it's modern.
Richard Cheese, fits every occasion.

It was only when Brian Fargo and his team at InXile asked EA if they could have the rights for it that Wasteland 2 could become a thing.
is it just not downloading them? No prompt or anything?
The client can't reach the nexus server.
For that christmas radio station, I've found some advertisements, but it's for real world products so It seems kind of...weird, I dunno, use them if you want them. So I was travelling to Westside when I start hearing gun shots, lasers, plasma and explosions, I get there and there's this big fight between the Fiends and the Westside Militia, the Fiends were winning, so much that one by one the Militia started to run away, the only reason they were probably alive was because there was one NCR Veteran Ranger (probably from ADAM) who was keeping the Fiends at bay, I joined the fight and we started to wither the Fiends down, I thought the fight was over until I turned a corner and there was more of them, I shit you not when I say I killed about 30 Fiends without counting the ones killed by the Militia, it's probably because of Mojave Reloaded/Factions Reloaded and IWS that this happened, also the Veteran Ranger went out in a blaze of glory when he took down a group of Fiends but fell prey to a Frag Grenade the last one dropped before going down. It was fucking amazing.
I stopped using Mojave Reloaded because of those other factions it added offered easy loot too early. Also because they kept killing Boone.
They do need to be more powerful, but the trade off should be increased rarity. I imagine energy weapons weren't exactly common with the average citizen. With real world physics, energy weapons would be so fucking OP it would be ridiculous. Blooming would make laser weapons less burn and more explode your enemy's innards all over the wall, while the EM radiation emitted by the cloud of plasma right next to him would set off every pain receptor in his body. A bullet is going to pass through you, and you'd bleed to death, a high energy laser beam would turn you inside out while your last moments before your brain shuts down would be in complete agony from the pain.
I think the idea is that energy weapons do higher damage to armored opponents (especially those in power armor) because theoretically, they would just ignore armor. Like, lasers and microwaves would just burn through the armor and "cook" you, which would hurt but also prove invaluable since all but the best ballistic weapons are incapable of piercing power armor. Plasma melts right through the armor. Of course, this is only in theory. I am not sure about the first few games, but the gamebryo games have yet to implement it.
For that Christmas radio station you should add Blue Christmas by Elvis Presley. Also I went and installed Vault 24 and it is now easily one of my new favorite building mods. It's really big. [t]http://static1.nexusmods.com/15/mods/130/images/39339-2-1296168382.jpg[/t] Here's some screenshots I took on my way down to the reactor. [t]http://i.imgur.com/nK03Es8.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/zPVHtGl.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/zu8LiW2.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/EEevksH.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/fT0o9Tk.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/MuMuSlE.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/qpvm1ng.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/sH628hY.jpg[/t] Really cool place, apparently there was supposed to be a vault 24 but it was cut content according to the wiki. The mod pulls off a really spooky atmosphere and uses really good ambient noise. The whole atrium is filled with alarms and there are papers and books scattered everywhere. There was a room with a metal door kicked in, crushed walls and for some fucking reason there were mannequins on one of the levels right next to the door so when you enter you're greeting by a hand on the right side of the screen. The reactor level also had some sirens going off in isolated areas accompanied by rotating orange lights. The guy stopped working on it but he made it open source so people can still work on it if they want, I might try doing that if I can learn how to use the GECK.

I've always felt that the Vaults you see in-game are underwhelmingly small (likely due to the fact that it would take a fuckton of time to make actually-large vaults) but this looks like something that would house a good number of people in the long-term.
considering they're supposed to be able to house like a thousand people yeah they should be pretty damn big
The stories about New Vegas crashing were not exaggerated. If anything they seem like understatements.
Use these mods: - Mission Mojave - New Vegas anti crash mod - Stutter remover - 4GB patch This combination has given me 30+ hours of gameplay without a single crash, which is quite a feat for any Gamebryo game, let alone New Vegas...
I actually kind of want to see how Vault 24, or any similar sized Vault, functioned with people living inside them and in clean condition. Although there weren't any functioning computers, Vault 24 had administrative apartments, which probably means there were more people who had governing abilities like the Overseer. That sort of makes sense because of the size of the vault and the 1000 or so vault dwellers who live(d) there.
I'd like to see at least one move Vault that hasn't completely failed like Vault City. Maybe they'd be in the process of building their city and how you deal with them would shape their society.

Quoting the wiki, only 17 of the total 122 were functional as-advertised. Vault 3 (the Fiend vault) was originally one, as well as the one that would become Vault City. The rest of the control vaults have either only been mentioned, or haven't even been named. To be fair though, apparently there were many that were experiments but didn't fail, like the gambling vault, or Vault 101.

I still don't get how all of the V101 security team couldn't hold off a radroach infestation. They were all armed with pistols and batons also.
