just finished mothership zeta for the first time. worst dlc ever. :|
How is it bad? I really liked Zeta.
Nothing will completely get rid of crashes.
You know what I mean. What one's generally considered the best by you guys here?
You know what I mean. What one's generally considered the best by you guys here?
The Almighty Power of Christ. :v:
I like it how when I enter any DLC, there will be abso. no crashes.. but once you're back into Mojave, all hell breaks loose again.
Well fewer things modify the DLCs, which is probably the biggest thing.
I wanted a sprawling city of lights and sin, not 3 run down casions.
Judging by the concept art of New Vegas that was apparently what Obsidian was aiming for. You just gotta love classic games for how good and engrosing they are. You're several hours in, then you make a tiny mistake, oops your dead. What your last save was a while ago? We get this fabled land that's in reality, a mini mall. It's like how the epic civil war in skyrim was fought between about fifteen dudes.
Got my New Vegas Finally running properly. Games Setting Tuner was fucking things up. Here's my character. [t]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/687094894337213819/627337C5F476A28B0770AE3CB78E07D5E4F6A2B0/[/t]
It's an EDE clone. It literally doesn't matter. I wish New Vegas was done on an engine or in a style that properly portrayed the world it should've been. I wanted a sprawling city of lights and sin, not 3 run down casions. I wanted a proper war against my dreaded nemesis, Ulysses. I wanted a fucking WAR to end it all at Hoover Dam.
Too bad the Creation engine seems even worse in this regard. The epic siege of Whiterun is about maybe 5-10 guys. I just console spawn in big battles because I know my computer can take it, but the game itself always caves in and crashes eventually. Hell, gamebryo sucks in general. It is one of the worst game engines I have ever played on, but the modability of it tends to make up for it somewhat.

I have a feeling that Creation Engine as an exponential limit on how many npcs there can be fighting against each other.
Can anyone explain why caps are useless in Fallout 2 (because the NCR introduced minted money) but they're brought back for New Vegas?
Can anyone explain why caps are useless in Fallout 2 (because the NCR introduced minted money) but they're brought back for New Vegas?
because the NCR don't entirely own the region, so it's a neutral currency that House and his casinos can use independently of what's happening in the war
I never understood how caps have any value at all
I never understood how caps have any value at all
I never understood the logic of the guy who went "YOU KNOW WHAT WOULD MAKE GREAT CURRENCY? BOTTLE CAPS!"
I never understood how caps have any value at all
If I'm not mistaken, caps are a currency backed by the Hub much the same way that any paper money or coin nowadays is backed by its respective country.
I've also noticed that many NPCs fighting each other at once has a problem: too many and their AI doesn't react to enemy faction troops nearby.
Can anyone explain why caps are useless in Fallout 2 (because the NCR introduced minted money) but they're brought back for New Vegas?
The Legion blew up a large reserve of NCR gold, weakening the currency. The casinos also highly undervalue the NCR dollar (and more so the Legion coins) meaning NCR money is basically worthless in the Mojave. Caps are a more valuable currency because the NCR doesn't control the pressing of caps and the casinos treat caps as having the same value as NCR dollars, meaning the NCR dollar, currently backed by water, is worth as much as money backed by nothing.
so, i finished downloading TTW, do i just drag the fallout 3 files into the fallout nv data or...?
Can anyone explain why caps are useless in Fallout 2 (because the NCR introduced minted money) but they're brought back for New Vegas?
The NCR's economy collapsed, so the money became worthless. Water traders at the Hub took advantage of this to re-introduce caps as a currency under their own control. I'm not sure why the NCR tolerate it though, it might just be that they're under a looser, Articles-of-Confederation-style constitution, which allows state-issued currencies.
I never understood the logic of the guy who went "YOU KNOW WHAT WOULD MAKE GREAT CURRENCY? BOTTLE CAPS!"
While not exactly convenient, they are numerous, rugged, fairly easy to mint and not likely to be confused with anything else, illiterate wastelander or not.
I never understood how caps have any value at all
Rarity, there are few bottle cap presses left and the people in the Hub who control them decided to make it a second currency they could control without the NCR's oversight. Though I doubt bottlecaps would be worth anything in the NCR, they're worth quite a lot in a neutral area where the NCR and the Legion are currently at war. When the people who control your water supply decide to give a better deal for caps then caps will become a decent currency. Though given the abundance of NCR dollars in New Vegas I'd say the dollar is still widely used inside the NCR, hell the NCR will only pay its people in dollars. Though that's also probably a sign of heavy inflation.
I'm trying to do the Russel mods quest but I keep crashing at the battle of silverwood thing. Someone suggested putting this in the console "setstage xx005c11 164" The only fucking problem is, when I put the mod index number where the xx is, it doesnt fucking work So I'm pretty much fucking stuck here crashing It's pissing me the fuck off [editline]17th December 2013[/editline] The rest of the quest is great but its just this bullshit
That tech raider base in AWOP is way to long. After the first couple areas, I just went god mod and killed everyone with the console.
