Boone and I finally cleared out The Fort today, in a New Vegas first. Holy shit. Armed both of us with Explosive .50 AntMatieriel Rifles, and hardcore / hard mode, we actually managed to kill Caesar.
Put his head on the seat of his throne and planted my ass right on his face.
Boone seemed almost cheery.

Use only machetes for a true challenge.

Matter of fact, wear NCR trooper armor, use 5.56 surplus.

On Hard mode I fucked up good god knows how many times. Especailly in Caeasar's tent, the Praetorians anally raped me a few times.
Actually, Boone died way more often than I did. I generally survived every encounter, but I felt it wouldn't be the same if Boone didn't get to live in a world without Caesar.

And I was at least wearing the Ranger duster, and so was Boone. We were matching pals.
has anyone tried beating a fallout game on the hardest difficulty without any saves
seems like it could be a lot of fun and very immersive

Hard / Very hard enemies just tend to become ludicrious bullet sinks for no reason
The DLC's are by far the worst for this, the Ghost People and the Tribals are as resistant as fucking Rangers
Dead money is fucking bullshit
[editline]18th December 2013[/editline]
its not hard, it bullshit
It's a shame because honestly Dead Money has a killer environment, but a lot of it is horseshit.
I also think the magical holograms are too sci-fi for fallout
and fuck the ghost people
Anyone else here who is being shit at inventory management?
I swear I am physically incapable of getting my inventory weight under 100 pounds for Honest Hearts.
For someone who usually carries a 285 pound backpack around, with both my companions being loaded with stuff too, it is really hard for me to shred enough of my inventory weight to meet the limit needed for Honest Hearts.
Maybe it is because I carry a wide and varied arsenal of weapons around almost all the time, but it is so bloody hard to choose which ones you have to leave behind.
Although I spend last time about half an hour putting stuff into the hotel room in Novac. I think I might do something wrong.
I always dump everything into a draw, then I only allow myself to carry a max of 3 weapons, a explosive type, only the clothing I am wearing, stimpacks and other game drugs and ammunition. Its good to prepare for a fight and if you're just exploring then its best to take guns suited for most environments.

stock everything you got and only keep a fork and a kitchen knife, that's all you'll need

dead money was my second favorite DLC (OWB is first, of course!) because it was such bullshit that it made the challenge of playing Very Hard Realistic that much better.

For me, anytime I come back to the house from an adventure and want to leave, I must only have:
Armor I will be wearing
All my stimpacks I have available to me at any given time
1 weapon and, if applicable, ammo for that weapon that does not go over 25 lbs. total.
OWB is my favorite DLC like EVERYONE but only on scientific characters. When I was RP'ing my desperado Max payne style character it was just hillarious how out of place the poor guy must've felt.
My game crashes when I try to exit out the bottom left here. Any ideas?

Don't exit that way.
Don't exit that way.
It's the only exit.
Then your journey was never meant to be.
I told my friend to get my Dead Money for Christmas
Wish me luck!

Probably, I mean Fallout 3 and New Vegas is manageable but Fallout 1 and 2 is a different story. You got Autosave for 3 and NV which makes it easier but 1 & 2 don't.
It's the only exit.
Try it some more, if it really is causing a crash then load a previous save from another slot.

[editline]18th December 2013[/editline]
If you're weighed down by gold or loot you deserve to die for complety missing the point
Right, Im starting over in FO1. This time, I'm going Bruce Lee (melee only). I don't care if it gimps me, I'm gonna punch some radscorpions apart and use their tails as nunchaku

Move all the gold to the doorway and grab it on your way out. Go straight back into the little covered area, turn right and sneak to the exit. If you time it right and don't let Elijah see you, you can get out with all the gold and all the loot you can handle.
Fuck letting go, I do what I want and I WANT that gold to fill the treasury of my nation-state.

Didn't each bar weigh a fuckton though? I mean, if you had nothing else with you and could carry a lot, then I don't see why not. I remember seeing that vault the first time and was wondering how many caps I could get away with.

I have never left Dead Monkey without magically being 100lbs over my inventory limit, so I just go ahead and drop whatever stupid crap I have (namely off-skill weapons, then grab however many gold bars I had room for and leave with that.
Three is still enough to break the world economy before I hit the casinos, so it's OK with me.

they do weight a fuckton and you cant get them all without going over the weight limit. it's possible to leave with all the gold bars if you're fast enough though
