It looks like a shoddier version of the armor from Tactics.
It is very noticable that all the classic guns in New Vegas (Bozar, 12.7 mm pistol, etc) all look really weird rendered in game. In Fallout 2 they looked awesome, but for some reason the Enclave armor in NV just looks really jarring and out of place
I don't like the helmet from Fallout 3's Enclave, looks too small for the bulky armour. I like the Hellfire armour better than the standard.
I barely ever use vats unless I'm panicking or something I just play nv as a third person shooter most of the time to be honest
It was more like an OK PnP that lead to an even better PnP. Although it was the introduction of the two greatest heroes known to man.
My Fallout PnP was better than Aloha Smoothskin? Awwwwyeeeee suck it Ryan you stoned bastard I'm a better GM And I'm guessing the "greatest heroes" you're referring to would be Blackbeard and Stitch?
I want another turn-based Fallout game :<
I guess I just prefer an actual apocalyptic setting over what essentially amounts to a western with a pretty coat of paint.
The sad thing is how well they do this. Get a greener grass mod and one to change the scale of mutants/remove a few NPCs and you got A great western game. I had a 5% chance to hit and I did it second time.
TBH though, Bethesda needs to beef up FO4 as a shooter as a major priority. FFS, the FPS genre used to be their pedigree before Morrowind came and their games became a constant slough of RPGRPGRPGRPG, why is FO3 so clunky as a shooter. [editline]22nd December 2013[/editline] No, of course not dumb down the RPG elements, but not have gunplay that plays like a war in the 1700s.
I gotta agree there; the gunplay in Bethesda Fallout doesn't feel all that great unless I'm crouched with my Hunting Rifle+. Sure if you kill an enemy with a crippled limb it flies off, but in terms of them going down it's like I cut the strings of a puppet or I have a buddy in Starfleet who used a transporter beam to remove their bones. If they actually staggered or kept running for a second or two before their body realises what happened, or responded to the loss of their limbs, that'd probably make killing an enemy a bit more satisfying, since I only feel satisfied when I use my Hunting Rifle+ to pop the head like a ripe melon. Also I dunno if it's just me sucking, but most of the time the aiming doesn't seem all that great, thus I abuse VATS like an altar boy and had to rely on huffing that Brahmin jenkam before I went cold turkey and relied on Sugar Bombs instead. Impact and response, weight and recoil, these are likely the ingredients for good gunplay, although it also helps if your guns are fun and interesting too. The pew-pew of lasers and gooey bolts of plasma aren't exactly shurikens-and-lightning levels of fantastic, but they're still more interesting than regular guns except for my "baby". However if there's one thing that should be in Fallout 4, whether vanilla or modded, is something like the railway rifle, which reminds me of Shadow Warrior's crossbow and Painkiller's stake gun, something to pin enemies and limbs to walls for satisfying dismemberment. And whilst we're talking about the shooter aspect, being agile is vital for a good proper shooter; even without a gun out I'm so slow, and what's worse is that I'm certain that even if I wasn't carrying all the things ever like the Hoarder I am, I'll still run at the same slow-ass speed. Speed Mod probably has the right idea, allowing a Sprint at the cost of AP, but what's to say we can't take this even further? Why not allow us to roll out of the way or climb objects/walls, perhaps with a system that emulates rock-climbing? Hell, I'd even settle for boots that alter your jumps, like spiked boots that lower fall damage and hurt enemies below you, or moon boots that allow you to jump higher, or even simply boots that give you a double jump. So yeah; better gunplay and enhanced agility should definitely be in Fallout 4. Also, d'you think there should be a "realtime" option wherein time in the Wasteland passes at normal second-for-second speed as opposed to minutes on the clock passing by in a matter of seconds? It could tie into Hardcore Mode so that you probably don't have to eat or drink as often, since you usually don't get hungry or thirsty for a few hours after a good meal, and you'd have to have spent actual hours playing before you gain enough tiredness to have to sleep.

Holy shit. And all this time we thought it was a wink and thumbs-up from Vault-Tec's smiling mascot; maybe it was meant to be a double-meaning in that regard?

It's not for nuclear explosions, it's for hazardous materials; chemical spills etc. the 'radiation zone' of a nuclear explosion has as much to do with the wind as it does proximity. Also don't stare at nuclear explosions, you're risking flash blindness.
Just completed Fallout 1 using the FIXT mod, awesome game, pity the mod seemed to cut the ending in half though (or maybe it was something with my playthrough). Ended up learning to never start with 10 intelligence because I sat on 100 skillpoints by the end and that maxing out combat skills is fucking brutal. I had energy weapons at 200% and the only way I couldn't shoot a guy in the eyes and kill him instantly was either because he was outside of my gun's range or my aim was blocked! Trying to binge play through Fallout 2 now, wish me luck because I could never bring myself to play past the first hour.
This might sound odd but does anyone recommend when I should start playing certain DLC's at specific progressions? It feels sort of lore bending or wrong to just do all the DLC's early on or when I've nearly finished.

I'd reccomend them to be level 20+ and up though because otherwise you're getting asspounded
Anyone care to enlighten me as to what aloha smoothskin is?
I started lonesome road at 17 and it was pretty easy Edit: burrowers in the tunnel were a pain in the dick, but marked men were like shooting targets, even the guy with the red glare
Anyone care to enlighten me as to what aloha smoothskin is?
Ghouls
Man, this Dead Money DLC really sucks.. Well, maybe that's an exaggeration but I'm still stripped of everything as of yet, the place is kinda annoying to navigate, annoying enemies.. Hope I can get my stuff soon. Also chugging down irradiated shit food or crafting those Dean's martinis is terrible, I need my Blood Sausages and Sunset Sarsapilla stock back.
fooking wanamingos man
Doing Lonesome Road before going to the strip kind of lets you metagame the ending choice of it, but it really makes the most sense if it's the last thing you do before the battle at Hoover Dam.
I'm kind of upset about the ending of Fallout 3. (There might be more that I don't know about, but this is from my first playthrough) [sp]If you sacrifice yourself for the project purity thing, you die from radiation and can't play the game any more. If you make Sentinel Lyons sacrifice herself, she dies from radiation and you feel like a dick and can't play the game anymore anyway. I thought we'd be able to play past the end. Would it have ended differently if I took Fawkes with me instead of leaving him behind? I didn't even get to find Dogmeat[/sp]

Doing one without being able to hack Hard terminals or pick Hard doors really blocks off a lot of stuff

If you have Broken Steel then you can send RL-3, Charon, or Fawkes in. Although the ending still treats you like a dirty coward, calling whoever you sent in a "true hero". Apparently there's no tolerance for pragmatism in the wasteland.[/sp]
