I would like to see more androids in fallout lore, as well as canada getting revenge.
Imagine canada set up as a pseudo remake of the British Empire aiming to take back the 13 colonizes in a bastardized vision of British culture and values, feudalism, knights, redcoats, classism, commonwealth etc

While I like the uniforms, I can't really agree with the whole "Canada becomes Britain" thing. Also, didn't America annex them before the war?

I assume that's the reason for the revenge
And I suppose they'd ask permission before going to war too?
lol get it cuz canada is such a bitch

hahaha what the fuck
Fix the tits on the lady and make some more detailed textures, and this'd actually be pretty faithful to the original design.

Revenge would make sense, but becoming an all-out parody of Britain wouldn't. Not that I'd support them being outright Canadian stereotypes either - I'd much rather have an original faction with that kind of motivation.
[sp]If you get the evidence and complete Cass' quest, then go and kill the Van Graffs, does that change your ending?[/sp]
not really but it costs you some NCR rep
Neither, get a Tunnel Snakes hoodie
Actually really considering buying that, pretty sure that large won't fit me though, damn you medium Tunnel Snakes!
Its my favorite kind of video game related clothing, its not a blatantly obvious reference so people who don't get it can appreciate the sweet design and people who do get it RULE

I think what always makes it funny to me is that some of the biggest assholes I have ever met online were Canadian.

Okay cool
Concerning that "Imperial Canadinia" concept for the Fallout-verse, I think it should be a bit less British Empire and more French; in fact a blend of British Empire and strong French influences could make for an interesting faction for Fallout 4. The Canadinian Republic, marching south to civilize the barbarians of the "United" States.

Imagine post apocalyptic Napoleonic wars against all the American factions. Pipe rifles everywhere.
When using multiple weapons mods, do I need to do any messing around with levelled lists and the like to get NPCs to use them? I remember having to do a lot of that for Skyrim.
Also, is Fellout still roughly the decent choice for weather, or is there a better mod out?
Would like to know the answer; sorting through the dozens of Nexus tabs I end up opening tends to make my head hurt. Partly the sheer amount of stuff, and partly because this basically sums up most of the Nexus mods.
Imagine post apocalyptic Napoleonic wars against all the American factions. Pipe rifles everywhere.
It'd be amusing to see bayonet charges, in which the bayonets are various bits of metal shards and cutlery duct-taped to the pipe rifle.
Okay cool
Are you always such an asshole to everybody? All I did was make an offhanded comment about Canada.
Seriously, all you have done in this thread is just be a complete dick.

You've got Rome running around in New Vegas.
That, and Canada's history really begun with American loyalists fleeing America during the revolution, trying to keep its British values in check, they share a lot of similarities with Britain (after all, they were an Anglo colony) and even have monarchy, similar military (they have Grenadier Guards for example) and have a love for things red.
Canada's history in general involves a resentment towards America, a large portion of American loyalists either fled to Canada or other territories. However in Fallout America as a government no longer exists, so all annex territories are void i.e - Canada, and what with Canada's historical resentment towards America (1812 for example) I can see a justifiable faction rising up with a colonial mentality much like their predecessors who wish to take revenge or beat back the brute savages into submission under their royalty. I'm not saying they'll become a carbon copy of Britain, but in the lines of how the Legion was a copy of Rome - a bastardized narrow view on its culture, system and creed along with Canada's own history and culture. Thats why I figured Commonwealth would be a decent name for them, as it upholds Anglo culture but allows room to breath and not just be Brits with Canadian accents.
tbh there's a lot of designs in the first two Fallout games that i'm pretty glad weren't used for the new ones. i mean a decent chunk of it was pretty hardcore 90's stuff, most of which would just look dumb in 3D
Yeah but the Enclave armour wasn't and they still changed that.
i know
the entire joke is that it can be applied to sexual stuff

I'm late to the party, but I don't see how you could possibly find spit-roast in that context sexual. Or even any context.

spit roasting is quite a old sexual term, I heard it about 7 years ago.

then you're a boring billy
dull danny
I'm familiar with the term more than definition. The thing I think he's trying to say is that yes, it's a sexual term, but in this context it's not and trying to force it so is kinda lame and childish.
That's like me saying an oil pipeline in Alaska is being constructed and you equating that to another certain sexual connotation when in reality I'm just trying to tell you there's a fucking pipe in Alaska pumping oil from there to here.
While I like the uniforms, I can't really agree with the whole "Canada becomes Britain" thing. Also, didn't America annex them before the war?
The annexation lasted for like three years and during the entire time, Canada was on perpetual riot mode since it was by force.
Yeah but the Enclave armour wasn't and they still changed that.
you mean the mk2 advanced power armor?
So I kinda want to do a second playthrough of FO:NV but I don't feel like doing vanilla again. Could anyone suggest some mods that are accessible from the beginning or enhance the feel of the game?

I'm very much aware of Caesar's Legion being a weird bastardization of a historic group. My point is that it would be kind of cheap to just do it again but with a different group in a different location. It would feel like a rip-off.
As for the second paragraph, you can still have international resentment in many different forms, it doesn't limit itself to one single time period. It wouldn't make any sense for the Canadians to revert to a parody of colonialism any more than it would for America to.
Why not, instead of focusing on that historical tidbit, take the concept that keeps being referred to as supporting evidence - the national sense of resentment and later rebellion against the US. Why not build their identity around that, or take that and make logical jumps? Suppose the remnants of Canada don't want to see history repeat itself, and treat "Americans" (because there aren't really nations at this point) with extreme prejudice. Canada's remnants want to keep Americans out, and subjugated, if at all possible. Suppose the border is guarded by mounted patrols who are really nothing more than territorial thugs, a corruption of the Mounted Police, or something like that? Maybe that wasn't the best example since I want to stay way from stereotypes, but the Mounties are often featured as a kind of stereotypical thing, but my point is that you can have a group with an interesting identity that isn't dependent on a gimmick. Caesar's Legion had their thing - they made it work, and it would have been even better if Obsidian had gotten to flesh the game out more, but I feel like it's too easy to rip off their thing.
Anyone know any ways to increase the overall mod limit of the game?
Anyone know any ways to increase the overall mod limit of the game?
Get mods that don't conflict with each other?
I don't know, I always thought that was the real limiting factor in how many mods you can install.
Yeah but sometimes even if they are compatible the game seems to just die of strain
like an overloaded donkey.
