Starting as the courier breaks many FO3 quests so until they can fix it you'll have to suffer through the vault start
What if they had you die as the Courier and become reincarnated as a Vault Dweller? :v:
I think it only breaks the main questline
If you attempted to fix the lore of Tactics than the whole game most certainly wouldn't exist for the very reason that Tactics fucked up the core lore for he series. And there isn't anything definitely "lore-breaking" in Fallout 3, just a lot of contrived bullshit. The Enclave aren't lore breaking because Raven Rock was not only already built and operational, but John Henry Eden had already made contact prior to the oil rigs destruction. Considering there were still Enclave holdouts after the Oil Rigs destruction and even after Navarro, it is feasible, although once again contrived, that the Enclave could have remaining forces that fled to Raven Rock. The Super Mutants are obviously not the same branch, and once again it is contrived that Vault 87 would get FEV anyways but still not impossible. And of course the Brotherhood, although still contrived, is still a possible scenario and is explained. Nothing directly contradicts lore in Fallout 3 to my knowledge, at least nowhere near to the levels of tactics. Sure, it is contrived and poorly written, but that isn't "lore breaking", just terrible writing. Plus, I would dare to argue Fallout 3 is the most aesthetically consistent of all the Fallout games. I am tired of people going on and on about how Bethesda "raped" the series and it just seems to me like a bit of nostalgia blindness, or at the very least people begrudging change. Yes, it isn't consistent in theme with the rest of the franchise, but there are no major contradictions to my knowledge of Fallout's lore. The Fallout parts of Fallout are fine and dandy, it is just a shift in gameplay.
I just had an aneurysm.
"Who wants to go around being called a vault dweller?"
You're right. The real winners call themselves Tunnel Snakes.
tunnel snakes should integrate with the tunnelers to form the greatest faction the wasteland has ever known
tunnel snakes should integrate with the tunnelers to form the greatest faction the wasteland has ever known
Tunnelers make tunnels. Tunnel Snakes rule them.
I thought the lore said DC was nuked to beyond shit levels?
Does seem odd the heart of the US government wasn't reduced to an absolutely enormous, highly radioactive glass crater, even if just for ideological brownie points
So do people actually like the tunnel snakes or is it supposed to be ironic because the tunnel snakes are a bunch of pussies?
I think people like them because they rule.
Does seem odd the heart of the US government wasn't reduced to an absolutely enormous, highly radioactive glass crater, even if just for ideological brownie points
I dunno, DC did seem to be pretty rubble-tastic in many places. Maybe just not enough. I think it kind of sets a precedent for other cities; if DC looks like that and it's "utterly destroyed", then other cities like New York or Chicago might just barely be recognizable still.
Does seem odd the heart of the US government wasn't reduced to an absolutely enormous, highly radioactive glass crater, even if just for ideological brownie points
Well if house could defend vegas I'd think the seat of the US could fend off at least a few missiles, so that might account for some of it

Watching my brother play is weird He searches every nook and cranny of everywhere and hoards so much stuff I would just sell And he relies on vats a lot due to not putting many points in guns
Watching my brother play is weird He searches every nook and cranny of everywhere and hoards so much stuff I would just sell And he relies on vats a lot due to not putting many points in guns
Isn't that what you're supposed to do in Fallout? [editline]1st January 2014[/editline] Being paranoid and pressing v every 10 seconds even if there aren't any enemies around Collecting every stack of pre-war money that ever existed Collect every single 10mm bullet so that you can go on a rampage with a machinegun later on Have so many sass bottles that even ol' Festus would be amazed or have every single pre-war book in your inventory to cash out at that one library in FO3
I feel like that's a slight exaggeration, but for the most part I do all that stuff. I hoard things that I don't sell, or hoard things to sell, and with VATS, I don't rely on it like that, but I do know that when I began playing Skyrim I'd constantly keep trying to switch into VATS whenever I had my bow out.

Even worse in FO:NV with mods since there's so much shit to craft, and I don't know off the top of my head what items are useful for crafting.

I'm on the FBI watch list IRL.

I'm not sure, those long range critical hit kills are always glorious.
I KILLED THEM ALL [T]http://i.minus.com/iTXwt7nGO67kI.png[/T] ALL OF THEM WITH A KNIFE SLOWLY
Archery in Skyrim is a waste of time.
Are you shitting me, archery is OP as fuck. With the upgrading perks (Overdraw, zoom, critical hits), as well as the one in the sneak tree that upgrades sneak crits to 3x damage, I can pretty much clear out any place without even needing to down a minor health potion by just hanging back, crouching, and one-shotting every idiot that walks into my field of vision. Even when that fails and they rush you after catching sight of you, all you need to do is backpedal and fus-ro-dah the shit out of them to give you breathing room to plug arrow after arrow into their chests. Oh fuck her head's on the countertop
So I go into one of the areas A World of Pain adds, only halfway through do I realise inside there's an escort mission through an area infested with deathclaws that can kill me through the ranger armor in one swipe :/ Last save was 30 minutes ago, but was basically necessary as ED-E made stealth impossible. "Caution? More like CHARGE!" seems to be it's operating parameters. Serves me right for trying to stealth with an AI companion, I guess.
Is that fucking Cassidy's leg I see? Oh fuck her head's on the countertop
she's probably in hell blinking trying to figure out where she fucked up

I'm trying to register on the Nexus so I can download the mod manager but after I fill in the required details and click "Create Account" the page just takes up to 10 minutes to load before presenting me with this: [t]http://i.imgur.com/hqNvlGF.png[/t] (Image thumb'd) Anybody have a solution/explanation?
Anybody have a solution/explanation?
Nexus is shit
Which mods would you recommend in terms of giving more quests? Also are there any mods that boost the level cap or give more skills?
http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35979 More perks are always good Some of them seem fairly OP so yeah
