ugh i hate new zion even worse,
the one time i played through it i refused to use the companions,
this time ive given them a chance, and i posted yesterday how bad follows-chalk was but walking cloud is a born again christian with 3 looping lines and talking about how the father is all knowing while i'm walking through the father's camps with her clearly proving he is not a deity

Follows-Chalk is okay, he has a couple of interesting things to say about the old ruins when you're searching them. Walking Cloud literally only has 3 lines though. I always put off visiting Daniel until the end so I can spend as little time with her as possible.
Got a solid hour in before it crashed at a loadscreen, oh well
I did get to drop by The Thorn and get the eggs from the spooky vault 22 which I have never really explored before, I didn't even know those monsters were in the game, also the ambient sounds of people typing on computers, what the hell
Its like the ambient casino sounds where the building sounds like its full of people talking but there are like 2 people in the room
So I forgot to get Veronica's quest before doing Here Stands the Grass, so now the data I need is wiped. Did I just fuck over the quest or can I find the two other things and still finish it?

All three paths lead to the same thing so it really doesn't matter
the elder doesn't change his mind because he's a stubborn old fuck

Go for the pulse gun. If you spec'd into Energy Weapons you'll be happy you got it, depending on your outcome.
[editline]8th January 2014[/editline]
Even if you didn't, Vault 34 has some damn good loot.
Yep.
First time I have ever read that poem.
Most Metal Birthday gift.
the pulse gun in ludicrous energy weapons spec'd or not

I always kinda liked Follows-Chalk. I wish you could have brought him to New Vegas and shown him the non-tribal world, but instead, you get a lame ambiguous ending. [sp]"His dreams are crushed but he stays safe, or he lives his dream and probably dies."[/sp]

I'm kinda bummed that the sonic blaster thing from OWB wasn't more powerful than it. I was expecting it to be an upgrade, but since I had the pulse gun during OWB I never used the sonic blaster except to disable forcefields.

Kinda wish you could take Follows-Chalk with you when returning to the Mojave, and introduce him to the hostile but fun world outside of Zion. Would've been hilarious too. And reintroducing him to the Mysterious Drifter might have been cool. Would be better to let him go on his own, which [sp] probably gets him killed by raiders or joining the Fiends and dieing as a utter worthless junk, or even worse. [/sp] The Mojave is incredibly hostile in comparison to Zion.
I kinda like the guy, although I would appreciate it if he actually kept his distance from every Gecko in Zion and just use his 45. instead of running at it with his dinky club.
Walking Cloud though, is seriously pretty awful. Think of battle-wise a worse Veronica with absolutely zero appeal. Reloaded a save just to keep Follows-Chalk around while exploring everything before clearing Honest Hearts in one go.
Loot has been weapon-wise pretty incredible. Grabbed the 85% quality Lever-Action Shotty boosted by Shotgun-related perks at the start, and got several Shishkebabs and Fire Axes from killed White Legs, and even 12.7mm pistols and smgs.
Biggest prize so far was finding a Riot Shotty, RIP everything hostile in Zion. I like both the .45 Ammo Weapons too, although it seriously sucks how less ammo I've gotten from them so far. I only saw one enemy use a 45. Thompson so far. It's a good thing that those mods in Honest Hearts are so incredibly cheap. Also, the Survivalist's Rifle is fucking great, every White Legs goes flying because of that thing.

Since the outcome of the game is basically whatever you want I like to imagine he becomes a protagonist tier badass who eventually meets up with you in Vegas.
I let Tale of Two Wastelands installer run all night, and I wake up to it still compressing fallout3-misc. I really wonder if I am doing something wrong.

It only takes like, 10-20 minutes for me.
If your computer goes into sleep mode it wont continue anything I think.
The installer makes my CPU run hot as fuck and I have to crank the fans up to maximum I have never understood why though, is it just built badly?

Depends on what your drive's speed is, how much RAM you have and how powerful your processor is, so either your PC majorly blows or it's stuck.

I have 8 GBs of ram and a 2.6Ghz processor. I am saving up for a gaming computer now that is way better. The website says that the command prompt would pop up every now and then. That has not happened to me.
lemme put some of my thoughts here:
in ttw why is there only like 100 5mm bullets, i've been itching to use my minigun
does broken steel actually work or did i just crash because my game was shit
I've got spurs that jingle jangle jingle
Yippie yay
There'll be no weddin' bells for today
'Cause I got spurs that jingle, jangle, jingle
Jingle, jangle
As I go ridin' merrily along
Jingle, jangle
And they sing, "Oh, ain't you glad you're single?"
Jingle, jangle
And that song ain't so very far from wrong
Jingle, jangle
Oh, Lillie Belle
Oh, Lillie Belle
Oh, Lillie Belle
Oh, Lillie Belle
Though I may have done some foolin'
This is why I never fell
'Cause I got spurs that jingle, jangle, jingle
Jingle, jangle
As I go ridin' merrily along
Jingle, jangle
And they sing, "Oh, ain't you glad you're single?"
Jingle, jangle

Jingle, jangle

I'm coming down with 5mm and 5.56mm rounds in it. But if you're really stuck you could just breakdown other ammo and buy powder/primers from Flak and Shrapnel
How come every single automatic weapon is so useless?
Chinese/Normal Assault Rifle in FO3.
Both really good imo.

Something about that song mixed with the Fallout factor makes me think of the thousands of porn mods.

you missed the 12.7mm service riffle, i found it very early on by chance and my god its amazing, i can't wait to get up to gun-runners and buy the mods for it, also the compliance regulator which is really weirdly out of place with the game, is a fun amusement being that it paralyzes whoever you shoot with it

Plus super muties carry assault carbines
Plus super mutants are harder on normal in TTW, for me at least.
In regular FO3 I was batting them to death with nail boards even without any melee skill. Now it feels like a challenge.

That's because the silly willy devs for TTW directly ported over all the base stat values for all NPCs
That means that the roughly 35 Damage resistance that only negated a percentage of damage, now is 35 Damage Threshold, which directly subtracts the damage that you do, meaning that anything that does below 35 damage will be reduced to only %20 percent of its original damage.
How come every single automatic weapon is so useless?
In my Current playthough, I use a 9MM-Sub with Drum Barrel, Silencer, and increased Firing Rate, love to Spray & Pray with it, it works great
it may be because i have cfw on and those 3000 other fucking ammo types
How does the game expect you to get all ranks of the Mutant Massacre perk is there are like, 40 Super mutants in the entire game
I just finished watching the Mad Max trilogy, and I gotta say: everyone who's played Fallout (especially 3) once in his life will get the references immediately. The clothes, the raiders, Caesar's Legion, the wasteland, the people, the settlements... 'The Pitt' in Fallout 3 is especially reminiscent of the third film.
I wonder if they would put in one or two references to Fallout in the fourth film, which is being made.
