Does anyone know how to replace the sounds in the \Fallout New Vegas\Data\Music\Special folder?
So far I've only figured out how to replace the death sound.
Hey guys, I figure with all the posts and few suggestions/emails I've gotten, I should make a much more proper and professional post about the modification.
I just want to say thank you for the support and ideas. I hope that as time goes on we can all get more involved and make an even better armory mod together. My very close friend whom I've been bouncing ideas with has agreed to actually start helping with gun creation and so we should hopefully see a near doubling of production.
Now, as of my last posts I've been play-testing a lot of guns and gameplay concepts and am happy to report that TNT-bound Throwing Spears are a great success, being able to explode during any moment of their life-time and the only thing which remains to be added is the explosion on AI/Body impact. As for anyone whom worries of development time, adding guns to the game is mostly simplistic, it is the model editing that takes time, so don't worry.
I have also decided that the current batch of guns I am working on, I will completely finish; all their mods, all their unique counterparts and than play test privately. After they have been evaluated I figured it was only right to let you guys all play test it. I want to stress this batch of guns will not be the final release of the modification and is subject to change, it is simply much more manageable to make a huge project into smaller chunks. But once it is shippable? You guys will be able to go absolutely apeshit. I don't plan on releasing this on the Nexus until its done, but do what you want; I don't ask for credit or copy-right or permission or anything, just enjoy it; this modification will always be a gift to this awesome community.
Now, that this huge ass wall of text is completely done and dealt with; I wanted to share a few new guns I've been working on. The Battle Marksman Rifle you might notice has a very fancy render, this is because I decided that if I'm going to be public about it, than I should probably stop half-assing it. (This was the last render I did and came much later than the other ones)

Wow, forgot to include question. my bad
Did the same guy(s) that did the music in Fallout 1 do the music in New Vegas? Sounds very Hub-ish in some instances.
Yup. Guy's name is Mark Morgan. Also did music for Wasteland 2 (and a whole bunch of classic RPGs, including Planescape: Torment)

Oh, yeah, also ^^^ that M1D owns. Keep it up, dude

I knew there was a reason some of the ambient soundtrack in Honest Hearts sounded exactly like Arroyo music.
A lot of the ambient music in New Vegas is remixes of the ambient music from the first two game. The music in Zion is the music from Arroyo.

I like the flag on it. Pretty unique.
awesome stuff
Some of them are a bit overdetailed, but they still look really, really good.
Fuck wanamingos, every single one of them. So tough and they come in packs of 6.

The flamethrower works wonders on them, otherwise, aim for the legs with plasma or ballistic weapons, lasers suck.
The flamethrower works wonders on them, otherwise, aim for the legs with plasma or ballistic weapons, lasers suck.
Is there a mod that makes lasers not suck? I much prefer them aesthetically to the plasma weapons, but I might as well be throwing rocks at the enemy instead :/

Yeah, I hate how plasma weapons look and would love to be able to roll with laser pistol and rifle, but games say nope.
then again, i have a bolter on my current playthrough so it's kinda irrelevant
Where do I go to do Honest Hearts?
;43712417']i never actually got myself to find the blue star caps, what's the treasure?
A laser pistol called Pew Pew.
Damn automerge.

Spoiler-ed in case someone doesn't want the treasure spoiled.
[sp]If I remember correctly, a shit ton of those plastic sheriff stars, and Pew Pew, unique laser pistol. I think there was also caps, but I don't remember for sure, been awhile since I last got the 50 caps.[/sp]

To elaborate on part of the treasure: [sp] It is about a few thousand caps scattered around in the Sunset Crates in the sealed room. [/sp]
Raise your price or...uh...you're 'chip outta luck'.
That dialogue option always makes me smile.
For some reason, planting dynamite on people is turning settlements hostile, even with the use of a stealth boy.
I have a thing for extra exploration in Fallout 3 and New Vegas. It's why I got A world of pain for both and Alton, Il for Fallout 3. Anyone know any more mods that add places to explore?
NVInteriors is one. Have a guess what it adds.
I like the vast amount of areas AWOP adds, but the quality control seems a bit off in quite a few places. Such as that place in the underground with a bunch of people dancing to 2 different radio stations playing completely inappropriate music for the uncanny valley dance moves they're making (hell, half the time, the other radio just has Mr. New Vegas flapping his repetitive jaw)
[editline]29th January 2014[/editline]
Almost forgot to mention, NVinteriors may be incompatible with AWOP, might want to check for a compatibility patch if you do decide to use it.
NV Interiors + Better New Vegas gets my seal of approval.
Get ahold of some NPC mods while you're at it. All of the stuff in the NPC Project series and FNV NPCs Travel are well worth it when it comes to adding some life to the environment.

It is. I swear I had some patches for it but they don't really do much to remedy the conflicts.
Purdy Imgs
Holy crap, those all look really nice.
So like I said so did only the skin change for the NCR dudes, but not their gear. Any other files that I should download?
Whats the best player home mod out there? something that starts small but you can upgrade it would be fantastic. Wasteland defense looks like a decent candidate but I'm wondering if there are any others which don't feel like they belong to royalty.

If you can bother to download 333 Meg of shit, Vault 24 by Cambragol is fantastic for exploring. It was meant to be a completely new town kind of thing but the author appears to have abandoned it. So its just a large 1000 man vault with nobody in it, clutter and loots been added to all the corridors and rooms and it gets really atmospheric at times.

If you want to do some exploring, I recommend this.
I'd love a Fallout game where you're actively seeking out resources from the Old World, and expand the territory/settlements. I know Chris Avellone said he'd like to nuke the place all over again but I think the Fallout games should embrace the rebuilding civilisation side of things.

They could make a game that takes place before/around Fallout 1 if they want. There's a bunch of unexplored regions of America to choose from as well.
So nexus mod manager just deleted all of my New Vegas mods except for TTW. So I have a lot of redownloading to do.
You should use FOMM, the Nexus Mod Manager is crap.
