Fallout Series Thread V14: When i entered this thread i was hoping there would be more gambling

Usually if I loot a guy's armor and the grey briefs corpse doesn't fit in the environment I try to pose it so it looks like it's obvious that he was looted of his clothing
Maybe I would hide his body in somewhere convenient like a dumpster
Either that or I gib him and stuff his limbs in the corner
Throwing the body off a cliff or river works too
Small details bug me in this game :v
hey what was that mod posted earlier that puts the dlc weapons into the main game and dlcs?
I'm late as fuck, but I tend not to leave any corpses behind. Bloody Mess is a fun perk.

I wish there was a way to have torso gibbing without perking into bloody mess, it feels wrong not to explode someone with a mininuke but having someone's arm flop off after sniping them in the forehead belittles it to me
Love this guy's series on both TES and Fallout so far!

His TES series is not that great. Lots of oversimplification of important nuances, some weird postulation on how characters felt, and straight up falsehoods/misinformation.
So I was in the general store in Junktown, and suddenly an assassin came in and initiated combat to kill the owner ( forgot his name). Suddenly the guards were also shooting me and I had to blast my way out of Junktown...Will i be allowed back in? How do i fix this

Also he doesn't really understand a lot of the fallout lore.
Indeed. It just doesn't make sense, and it's completely because society is so deathly afraid of a pixellated nipple here and there.
Seriously? If you can see their nips when they're wearing armor how does this make sense?
I think it's actually because they didn't want to go through the effort of having "YOU'RE NOT WEARING ANY CLOTHES!" dialog lines like from TES.

No. You've broken Junktown's no weapons rule. Go to an earlier save.
To do this right, you need to make it very clear to the guards and such that you weren't the agressor. Let the assassin take a shot at Killian, and then go nuts.
If you don't have an earlier save, you won't be let back into Junktown, but it's not too important for the main quest.
Oh snap, for the first time in any fallout game i chose the friend of the night perk. Never bothered with it before, did not seem like a really necessary perk. Holy shit how stupid i have been. I am no longer afraid of the sewers!
I never bother with it because the only reason I would see not to use the Pip-Boy light is stealth, which doesn't work well enough for me, so I just use my Pip-Boy light.
Srs? If you can see their nips when they're wearing armor how does this make sense?
...did you even attend school at all when they covered reading comprehension? I never said anything about seeing nips while wearing armor. My whole point is that the bodies are poorly modelled, which bugs the hell out of me, and wearing armor doesn't hide it because I loot armor all the damn time. It also doesn't hide it on the clothes that do show a significant amount of skin.
I don't know where the fuck you got what you got from that but it definitely isn't what I typed or meant.
I think it's actually because they didn't want to go through the effort of having "YOU'RE NOT WEARING ANY CLOTHES!" dialog lines like from TES.
No, that's not it. You're still wearing undies in TES. No, what it is is they don't want to be on the wrong end of the ESRB. Having nudity in the game would veeeery likely mean an AO rating, and that would pretty much murder any chance of Bethesda earning a profit off of the game. They'd never in a million years take that risk with their main two sources of income. It's the same reason they renamed med-X. They're censoring aspects of the game because society is silly and has established absolutely bullshit 'morals'.

You clearly fucked her in Far Cry 3 and saw her tits., still got an M. It's just a terror thing for the most part.

That's the thing, the assassin initiated it, took a shot at Killian. Killian shot back. Then Ian proceeds to shoot at the guards and the guards shoot at me.

Well aren't we aggressive?
Anyway, it's pretty obvious how I got that when you go look at how you didn't once mention modelling quality in your reply to him. Maybe you should go back to late elementary where they teach how to include important things in your statements, because literally none of what you said had anything to do with modelling. The closest thing to what you seem to think you said was a texturing issue, which might not have even been that, considering everything on-screen is made of pixels.

Don't forget GTA: TBoGT and the Witcher 2 had fully-modeled penises.
fallout NV came out in like 2010, fallout 3 came out in 2007,
times have changed a bit, the ESRB basically barely covers games anymore since most games released are either online-co-op or purely online, they don't even cover mobile games which is a huge section of the market and they barely rate any indie games.
TBoGT came out in 2009
FONV was released in 2010

The Witcher 2 came out in 2011, and The Witcher came out in 2007. Explain that. Both got M ratings. And those are known as the "sex simulators" of Medieval fantasy times.

Yeah, took them two bloody months but at least I got a nice sum in compensation, heh.

I remember I was in class a while ago and my texturing instructor popped in one of your renders as an example of good gun texture work and the direction people doing guns should aim for (pun lol)
Total mindfuck, it's weird how small the 3d community can be at times

they gave ESRB a blowjob?

that's pretty fucking sweet lol
ratings industries tend to be arbitrary and so corrupt in general, they work they do their job most of the time but if someone pays them well enough they can get a good rating even if their stuff is horrible.
i mean games like GTA barely avoid an AO rating yet there's been pokemon games with T ratings
[editline]9th February 2014[/editline]
ESRB is like middle-america, if it involves anything remotely sexual or alcoholic or drug related its instantly M rated, but if its got buckets of blood and tons of guns its perfectly fine for T rating

I have zero patience for people who can't read what I type. I don't put hidden meanings in my posts, I don't speak in riddles, I don't try to be clever with my wording. I keep it simple, concise, and as clear as I can.
Anyway, it's pretty obvious how I got that when you go look at how you didn't once mention modelling quality in your reply to him.
But I did. Multiple times. Low-res counts as poorly modelled in the context of this conversation.

That's why I said veeeery likely and not guaranteed. The odd game or two can somehow squeak full nudity past but most of them either get AO'd or cause such a massive shitstorm by suburbanite soccer moms that they're not profitable. Hence the industry-wide censorship.

Too bad you do an awful job at that, apparently.
But I did. Multiple Times.
When did I ever quote the whole post? Oh, right: never.
Low-res counts as poorly modelled in the context of this conversation.
Textures =/= models and I don't know where you'd get a stupid idea like that.
[editline]a[/editline]
Enlighten me; where at any point in this part of your post did you say anything about actual model quality?

No, please, take your time! I simply must know what I've been missing this whole time.
huh, i found something that looks cool and is totally relevant to fallout
[t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/15/Alaska_Death_Trap.jpg/464px-Alaska_Death_Trap.jpg[/t]
if that was a chinese flag this would be pure fallout
That would be a WWII propaganda piece about the Japanese invasion of Alaskan islands. So in a way yes, in a way no.
i know but its similar to the ancorage posters you see in fallout
True. I think Fallout canon slightly bent some of the facts of WWII like saying Japan never attacked the Alaskan oil fields or the islands, or did so very minimally. But, the big thing would be for Fallout, is the Chinese actually attacked a U.S. State, whereas in WWII it wasn't a state, so a little less pressure from the U.S. people to retaliate for the attacks then.
So, considering that General Grant hates raiders and all sorts of savages, preferring to the types of Enclave and NCR instead, would it be suitable for him to go gung ho on everything in Zion? So far I figured that he'll stay his anger since Joshua and Daniel haven't revealed the former's past (since Grant hates the Legion and anyone associated) but he doesn't exactly like the tribals either.
As a matter of fact if he was completely informed of everyone in Zion, the only one he would even consider sparing is Daniel.
(On a brighter note, I got him Millenia's Colt M4A1. Seemed fitting, as it's probably one of the most famous American weapons ever made.)
