"The so-called Brotherhood of... John Henry Eden's personal clubhouse!"
WOW
So I'm level one trying out an alt start mod. I spawn near searchlight and go exploring further away.
I find the place with shitloads of death claws. I'm using the rocks to avoid them. I see a cave and I crawl over rocks to get to it.
It's Xander Bay. OH my fucking god. DEATH CLAWS EVERY WHERE. AWOP is such a good mod, but I don't think I'm ever going to be able to kill THAT many death claws.
oh no xander bay is in normal NV, AWOP adds an extra cave at the back that is full of more deathclaws but theres a great set of power armor there
What I don't get about New Vegas is how did the raping, murderous "low-lives with bad attitudes" of Fallout 1/2 become the comparatively peaceful tribe who are hiding out in Red Rock? I understand that the Bitter Springs Massacre somewhat crippled them militarily, but I don't recall seeing women and children amongst the Khans (apart from a couple of unfortunate women in the first game), so what were they doing at Bitter Springs?
bitter springs was where they had most of their tribe the NCR showed up and killed them and took their land, though how they went from bitter springs to red-rock without getting ambushed by the NCR, they are litterally on the opposite sides of the map from each other

In case you haven't noticed from all the raider and Legion camps around, the NCR don't have a very good grip on the Mojave.

ya but it kinda amazes me that they didn't get caught by someone between bitter springs and red rock, espeacially since they would have to have gone straight through fiend territory, though they are the fiend's supplier so they might have gotten some form of protection there

In fairness, the Khan's are pretty hard. Even if the fiends had been inclined to stop them (which as you've noted would be doubtful), the Khan's would probably be able to carve through them.

Uhh, I remember there being at least 4 women among the Khans in the original game.
Really, I can understand why it's canon that you killed them in one. You can have any horrid skill set, but so long as you killed the Khans you're set for the rest of the game just from all the money their armor is worth.
i murdered all of novac and stole everything(killed all but the doctor)
She gave me a discount and was cool with me. Seems about right.

I guess that transition into an actual society of sorts kind of softened them in the last eighty years. And it doesn't show up much in the game itself, but the details are still there that the khans are still assholes--dealing drugs to the fiends, oscar velasco sniping refugees, bitter-root talking about how his parents were abusive junkies who taught him to shoot at NCR civilians and tried to sell him for drug cash, etc.

I might be remembering this wrong but I think that Red Rock was given to them by the NCR as reparations for Bitter Springs. "sry bro for killing your family here have this inhospitable canyon"
oh ya you might be right on that, which is why redrock is such a bitter place for them being essentially a reservation. i've only ever gotten on good terms with the khans on one playthrough, they really were under-utilized in this game

cooltip,
[sp]if you fast travel to the enclave bunker, then go south-west without jumping off the mountain, you'll find a path in the mountain, keep following it all the way through until you find the massive cazadore nests,[/sp] then die, [sp]but on the off chance you don't die you keep going you'll eventually end up at the back of red-rock canyon for some reason[/sp]

[sp]I think that's there to show the player the route the Khans use to leave the Mojave if they're convinced to do so during the main quest, and as a sneaky way in for stealthy sniper couriers who are hell bent on wiping them out one shot at a time from the next county over.[/sp]
Aww ye look what the courier dragged in

Bobblehead packaging even has some info about the skill/stat points and all the other bobbleheads on the back which is neat

Where'd you get that? I got the Fallout 3 one at the midnight release for New Vegas from my local Gamestop.

Bethesda has a Treehouse-run store: http://store.bethsoft.com/
A bunch of other video game companies also use Treehouse stores like Bioware and Gearbox.
Those Treehouse people are really nice too, they wrote "Thank you! <3" on a cap of a tube a poster I bought came in once
I love this song.

I can't put into words how happy I was when I first walked into Ranger Station Charlie and found out it was in New Vegas.
Listening to Marty Robbins' Gunfighter Ballads on road trips with my dad up and down Montana occupies some of my earliest memories. When he died last year, his copy was one of the first things I found. The very same CD that's been through so many hundreds of miles and so many different cars and homes. I keep it very close.
Radio looping in video games can be of some annoyance, but i've never had a problem with hearing Big Iron everywhere I go.
I wanna be a fiend(or any raider) so bad.
The alt start mod lets you be one, but it seems to bug out if you load.
:(
Being a fiend would be much more fun than being a legion.
which one are you using?
is it the one where you start in the middle of a shack and then pick your stuff then spawn in a random location?
which one are you using?

Yup, that one.
It works well, besides fiends for me.
Also, I wish the supermutant race mod got changed up. It feels really glitchy but its really fun hitting so hard.
It still pisses me off that ghoul isn't a playable race by default. It would require a lot of work I suppose, but damn it would be fun being a hated race.
i remember once i went with BoS character which makes you start with like not so good standing with either side, and i spawned in the middle of a battle between legion and NCR, so much death
There's a lot of cool game shit on etsy.
i had a dream today that i couldn't remember but when i got up some phrase from the enclave radio was stuck in my head
"this brotherhood of steel i have one question for you, DO YOU LIKE THE SIGHT OF YOUR OWN BLOOD"
i finally learned how to use the geck, thanks to a video my friend made for me.
and all i did was make a superpowered 9mm handgun, with an equally retarded name.
fuck y'all raiders, fiends and any other asshole that gets in the way, i'm gonna start mowing down some serious ass.

What mod makes her look like that?
What's that text modification? Seems a lot smaller and neater than in vanilla.
its darnified ui.

Hngh, I already have a ton of HUD mods that are basically compilations of other mods, adding that would most definitely break it.
Is there any way to increase your luck in dead money?
;43957605']Hngh, I already have a ton of HUD mods that are basically compilations of other mods, adding that would most definitely break it.
There's a few programs designed to make compatibility easier, but it is basically impossible with e.g. large compilation mods to get it working right :c
Tbh every mod should make a Darnified UI compatibility patch, the default UI is just hideous in comparison. It feels like i'm back in the days when I had an 800x600 CRT.
