Nah Im good with Morrowind I played that game so much as a kid that even today I'm used to it. For some reason Morrowind gives me no trouble but a lot to older RPGs do. I dunno. I used to be fine with the way old games do things. I played all my dads games growing up so its not like I learned to play games through the hand holding modern games do, I'm just not used to being dropped in I guess. [editline]26th February 2014[/editline] Should probably bust out the pen and paper too. Couldn't hurt.
Nobody ever mentioned that it just straight-up told you to do something and cast you out before I bought it. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I wish more games did the same.
you can never leave out fluff weapons, no matter how horrible they are [editline]26th February 2014[/editline] especially in morrowind since that game is 80% fluff weapons 19% regular weapons and 1% fluff weapons with a typo that then makes it better than every weapon combined
Can I delete the weapons that I don't like out of it? I wanna get rid of a lot of the melee weapons.
Can I delete the weapons that I don't like out of it? I wanna get rid of a lot of the melee weapons.
you could probably delete them using FNVEdit or the GECK
Ween yourself off of quest logs and the like by playing Morrowind. You read descriptions on where to go instead of quest markers.
I literally stopped playing skyrim because of the high prevalence of quest markers in just everything. I played the game a lot but I just stopped myself after a while since I realized I was literally just walking where the game made me and that I wasn't really exploring anything.

I eventually got a mod that changed EVERY quest description so you could use it without the quest markers.
I don't mind quest markers all that much. Yeah, yeah, it's different and still fun to have quests written around not having them(Which is why I'm such a fan of Puce Moose's quest mods), but they've still got a valid place in the game. Especially when the quest is little more than "Go to X and shoot Y in the face". Which is quite common in Bethesda published games. There's no mystery about where you need to go and what you need to do when you get there so there's no reason the quest marker would be out of place. They can also aid navigating complicated areas. Especially Skyrim. Maybe it was my innate "OOH SHINY THING LET'S STEAL IT" instinct but I always found myself getting lost and the quest marker was the only way I could ever find my way around.
-snip nevermind-
I wish power armor was actually a huge hulking suit of armor that FELT like it...
or something that didn't look like cobbled togather submarine parts... [t]http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/dam/assets/131105114542-04-spy-plane-horizontal-gallery.jpg[/t] these would make excellent suits in fallout actually that is a really creepy photo
I wish power armor was actually a huge hulking suit of armor that FELT like it...
Power Armor was handled a bit poorly, I mean in the first 2 games(I don't know about tactics.) When you get power armor the only weapons that hurt you are usually very high tier. Gauss rifles,Lasers,Plasma,Pulse,Miniguns,Rockets, so forth though you'll usually shrug off the smaller arms.
I just adore the look of the old enclave armor (Fallout 3's was shiiiiit), but I don't like using it because it just feels... lame.
I just adore the look of the old enclave armor (Fallout 3's was shiiiiit), but I don't like using it because it just feels... lame.
You're lame.
I dunno, I thought that hellfire armor was pretty cool. Not the helmet though.
You're lame.
Oh come on, you have to admit it just feels flaccid for what is supposed to be a giant mechanized armored exoskeleton.
Is there a weapon mod pack out there for NV that is actually just nothing but believable lore-friendly weapons?
I wish the ragdoll physics applied to things you tackled(FOWE) I wanted to put ragdoll physics on extreme to make everything fly when I tackled it. A full tackle run would be fun! Who needs weapons when you can send everything to its death? Sucks it doesn't work like that
Can someone tell me how 4GB New Vegas works, and why it'll help me? I keep hearing about it and its supposed benefits, but I'm hesitant to install more mods right now, partly because I have a shitton already and stability is already taking a hit and partly because I heard Nexus Mod Manager was deleting mods when it loads up and I'd like to not have my mods deleted if I try installing a new one.

It allows the game to use 4GB of RAM rather than 2, in simple terms. It should make your game more stable especially when running many mods. The thing is you need to download the 4GB New Vegas.exe because using a program to make the normal .exe large address aware (i.e use 4GB) breaks it for some reason.
Link this mod. Oh gosh link this mod.
Here, it also works with NVSE.
How hard is it to make a radio station for New Vegas? I've been thinking of putting one together with some time/setting appropriate de-mastered tunes.
Here, it also works with NVSE.
Lol, wrong one. I was talking about and quoted the one that removes quest markers and adds descriptions.
Man, Vault 11's great.
The power armour in FO3/FONV would be better if it clanked as you walked.

Nobody would bother with the stuff if any random cumstain with a Glock could still kill the wearer. It's supposed to have roughly the same sort of armor capabilities as an APC or light tank, so it makes sense that most small arms just bounce off harmlessly. And that's where the 3D power armor fails. Yeah, yeah, in NV the DT mitigates most of the damage from that 9mm, but not all of it. Given enough ammo and good positioning you can still plink someone in APA to death with basically any weapon. Deathclaw have the same problem(If I remember right their innate DT is roughly equal to a T-51b) and it's what lets you clear Quarry Junction at level two with a Recharger Rifle and a few Weapon Repair Kits.
I just adore the look of the old enclave armor (Fallout 3's was shiiiiit), but I don't like using it because it just feels... lame.
I always thought it was too....generic. Wearing a full set you just look like "Random Enclave Meat Shield #59405" or "Random BoS Meat Shield #58609". And if you leave the helm off you look like a colossal bellend who thinks helmets are for squares.
Is it me or it's really hard to not do the good karma decision unless intentionally? It's like I'm programmed to act like a hero after playing all the other video games
The problem is that it's coded to get karma gains from killing raiders and feral ghouls, even unintentionally. There's mods to fix that, though.
there's also the fact that most bad karma stuff is just about being a dick for the sake of being a dick if it was more about pragmatism etc it'd be more balanced
I was recently playing New Vegas and, after discovering the joys of explosives and melee combat, i decided that fast traveling was OP and decided to find an alternative. Instead of using weird adaptions of the original system i installed the XRE Cars mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/49042/? After a brief setup i was ready to go and i bought a neat Ford instead of the shitbox Chet from Goodsprings wanted me to buy. I drove away from the Mojave Outpost and happily down the slope and past a clear Nipton Road Pit Stop. Well, after 200 meters at the side of the road there are my dear friends, the Legion Hit Squad. I left them behind and after a minute only one guy showed up. I smashed him with my loyal Hyper Sledge and then proceeded to smash the others too. I pass through Nipton and i head to Novac but i forgot that the mountain road past Novac is full of raiders. They almost destroyed my car, but i managed to drive to a repair station. But guess what? Another Legion Squad just in front of it. Final thoughts? The driving feels a bit squishy but it's pretty fun. I only wish i could do drive-by shootings, just to toss some dynamite to those Legion assholes. Also, this guy's face has real issues:
His face is so tiny.
