Project Nevada. Before I installed that I brushed EWs off entirely as little more than toys that made a pew pew noise, but the EWs in PN impressed me enough that I use them pretty much every time I play the game.
So I just finished the game on hard difficulty + hardcore. It's quite sad that I actually expected the hardcore achievement to not unlock. Fuck it, I'm re-downloading SAM.
Did you open the console in the session you beat the game in?

Already have it.

Then I think it's time for you to go trolling the Fiends. They drop some pretty neat plasma rifles once in a while that feed from a 20rd box mag and hit a bit harder than vanilla ones. More commonly they'll also drop things like flamer pistols and unique-ish plasma pistols. You could also drop by Hidden Valley and go pickpocketing some paladins in there, they're toting gauss rifles that hit every bit as hard as the vanilla one but have a 20 round magazine. Sometimes they'll even carry a pistol variant, if you want a matching sidearm. And then there's a super-OP death ray type thing out on the Deathclaw Promontory that will do ~1250 damage per hit with the right build, if'n you really want to fuck someone up or have TTW and need a way to deal with albino radscorps quickly.
Oh, and if you really want that DIY feel to your loadout, PN also adds a bunch of recipes to craft weapons, which includes a homemade plasma rifle.

What ever happened to this game ? I know it had some big issues launching because of fucked up retail DVDs but I basically never heard of it past this point.
Stuff like Binding of Isaac and Hotline Miami for a whole 2 bucks
Possibly the only indie game that tops Binding of Isaac for me is One Finger Death Punch.

I remember hearing about it, then hearing that it wasn't on Playstation and at that point I quit caring about it as my computer was ass at the time and I wasn't going to go buy and XBox for one game.

I'm roleplaying as a weak ass nerd that just happened to become a courier, so sadly the Rail Cannon thing isn't exactly suitable for this guy. I still have no idea how I survived Deathclaw Promontory though.
the railcannon makes me feel like fortune from mgs2
of course i keep my energy weapons skill pretty low so im not a very good shot/attacker with it but whatever!
AWOP sure does make its addon locations fucking dark. I think I've used Cateye for the first time exploring some of these caves.

yea, main thing i hate about awop
it's so dark for no apparent reason.
Gave me a reason to use the NVGs from Project Nevada. That and Fellout.
The thing about Fellout, is that irl my eyes adjust to the dark. In Fellout? I'm staring at a full screen of 0-0-0 RGB
PN's Night vision was great, but i really have not seen a game that does night vision right, they all just do an overlay instead of actually making night vision look like what it should, which is really cool

I think that's usually because that would involve a lot more in-depth work than just brightening the scene and putting a green filter on.

I looked at one of the showcase screenshots, the difference between the sleeve textures and weapon textures is astronomical.

I've always used the NVG from Advanced Recon, mainly because I have a fetish to any mods made by Gopher. Although the thermal vision thing from PN is better then the thermal from Advanced Recon.

Yeah, I actually use the night vision from Advanced Recon, I just use it with the helmets Project Nevada add night vision to.
So, does anyone know why some FOWE weapons refuse to shoot?
Widowmaker is the main one i keep seeing
I tried deleting it, but since my save already had them existing now its just a giant error lol
Can anyone please refer to any of those mods that add more to the Freeside/Strip area please?
There's a lot floating around but I'm not sure which is best.

As for the Strip, get populated casinos. And an Open mod if you prefer that sort of thing.
Just got to thinking, are horses extinct in Fallout? 'Cause damn being a proper cowboy with a mutant horse would be THE SHIIIIIIT!
Just got to thinking, are horses extinct in Fallout? 'Cause damn being a proper cowboy with a mutant horse would be THE SHIIIIIIT!
Yes, Sawyer specifically mentions them being extinct. Same with cats apparently.
Yes, Sawyer specifically mentions them being extinct. Same with cats apparently.
Only real reasons cats are dead is because people saw them as easy prey at the time and they basically ate them all. Horses, I dunno why horses wouldn't live or mutate but cows, fish, birds, etc get to mutate. Horses literally would be the last them you kill for food, reasons are.
1.Beast of burden
2.Fast transport
3.Huge bargaining chip and trading value
Like suppose that the NCR actually had a horse back cavalry division, the rate they would cover ground and the added mobility they would have would pretty much trump the Legion in fights. Add along carbines you basically got fast attack infantry which would be HUGE in a land where most wars people have are typically fought without any vehicles.
Basically blame gamebyro and the lolsy way that it would handle shooting horses with guns.

I dunno they got Horse combat in Oblivion mods and official one in Skyrim.
Basically blame gamebyro and the lolsy way that it would handle shooting horses with guns.
I think horses have been semi-canon extinct since at least the time of the Fallout Bible
Basically blame gamebyro and the lolsy way that it would handle shooting horses with guns.
They were extinct in the 2D games, too. It has nothing to do with Gamebryo. Plus Gamebryo can handle mounted combat just fine. It was in Skyrim by default. It was in Oblivion in mods. And in Fallout 3 and NV there are mods for player-controlled armed vehicles, NPC-controlled armed vehicles in vanilla, along with some of the cars in the XRE - Cars mod allowing your companions to act as gunners while you drive about.
Only real reasons cats are dead is because people saw them as easy prey at the time and they basically ate them all. Having grown up around the stupid beasts I can attest that they're VERY twitchy and hard to maintain. You can't change the brand of feed you give them suddenly, you have to gradually phase them onto the new stuff over a month and a half. Otherwise they get pretty badly ill. Oh, and they can't vomit, for some reason. They eat a lot as well, and they need a lot of gentle loving care if you plan on using them for anything.
There's no way they'd survive the apocalypse. They're just too sensitive to their environment to survive that radical a change. The NCR would be better off restoring some 250cc dirtbikes and using those for mounted cavalry TBH.
Cats, on the other hand...I get that people immediately after the war ate them and all, but I find it pretty damn hard to believe that there weren't enough feral cats roaming around that a few managed to survive as have many other species. Dogs lived and they would have been subject to the same hunting pressure for the same reason.
