The legion would probably just exterminate anything that isn't directly domesticable and usable for resources.
I mean fuck, if the moja was under control at the start of the game, you wouldn't even hear about death claws being an issue on the road to new vegas, they'd all be fucking dead and burned on a pile of tires.
Fuckers would probably even crucify a deathclaw if it meant scaring the rest off.
no ganerumo the legion ARE the monsters
no ganerumo the legion ARE the monsters
Are you telling me the legion is actually deathclaws and cazadors in disguise
We're fucked
I didn't know the Legion army was football suits until yesterday.
How did I not notice?

People can be more monsterous than any beast, so why should only they be called monsters?

Because legion recruits don't have claws bigger than your fucking torso that's why
ideally a game that doesn't just feel like a shallow reskin of new vegas and doesn't need modding to fix anything
looking at you, skyrim
More like looking at most of Bethesda's titles.

dude, don't be prejudice
Where are the material paths shown in NifSkope?
I recommended it because of the destruction physics, but if you want a brokeass game on the gamebryo engine then it is your choice.
Bethesda can (and will) make a brokeass game out of any engine.
Where are the material paths shown in NifSkope?
In the BSA archive files, but anything added to folders outside the .bsa's will overwrite them if they have the same name and path.
I think, I'm no modding guru/god

Well, I happen to always be right so it's ok for me to say that.
Started playing Fallout 3 GOTY again, it runs even worse now than it did years ago on Vista.
I installed the Unofficial Patch, FOSE, and the Stutter Remover (with max FPS set 1 under my screen's rate), but usually as time goes on after I load up the game (maybe after 10-20 minutes) the FPS begins dropping and I get a lot of mouse lag. When I first start it up and start playing though, FPS is perfectly fine and there is no mouse lag at all.
Anyone have any suggestions for how to fix this? My specs are below if that can help (it's an ASUS G53-JW gaming laptop and doesn't have issues running most other things, Skyrim/TF2/etc run fine):
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
Intel Core i7 Q740 @ 1.73 GHz
6 GB RAM
GeForce GTX 460M

To be honest, if I hadn't read about the Legion using football gear as armour before playing, I probably wouldn't have twigged either. It's pretty passable as legit fantasy armour.
Well, maybe LARP fantasy.
If you look at the history of the roman empire you will see that it was made up of convicts and assholes, completely devoid of women (sound familiar). Hell, even its founder killed his own fucking brother. Expansion comes with war and everything bad that comes with that. After a while they started to knock their heads together and do shit properly. Although slavery is bad, the Romans wouldn't have gotten anywhere without them.
Who cares if they are monsters when there is a good chance they could essentially make the wasteland the best fucking place on earth. I'd honestly like to see the Legion winning as being canon, it would be much cooler to see how the Legion shapes up once Caesar dies and people start coming in to seize that power, possibly changing Legion policies in the process.
The Legion won't shape up when Caesar dies. He's one of the only two people in the whole shitshow with any kind of non-military education, and he had the other guy set on fire and thrown off Hoover Dam. His troops are a horde of butchers and rapists that prize strength and violence over wisdom and peace. Lanius, the next in line after Caesar, is basically post-nuclear Conan the Barbarian; does he really strike you as the "beat their swords into plowshares" type?
Also, the Legion's system of slavery has almost nothing to do with the Roman system. There is no class of freemen - you're either a slave, or a legionnaire. And if you're a legionnaire, half your job is keeping the slaves in line. Legion slaves cannot be set free, because there is no class of freedmen for them to transition into and they cannot become legionnaires. Legion slaves have no rights, no channels to complain about maltreatment, and live completely at the mercy of the legionnaires, who will likely face no retribution whatsoever if they abuse their power. It's closer to Ancient Sparta really, and that's not likely to change since, as I already pointed out, Caesar is the only member of the Legion who isn't a complete barbarian.
Thanks Todd Howard. I was playing some NV with my 560 Ti and then the game froze and now my GPU has nothing but artifacts. I guess that's what I get for stealing everything in the safe room at that one casino in freeside.
Would the legion still fall even after you finished their main quest with Caesar alive then?
I'm sure without Caesar, there would have to be some replacement other then Lanius to be as charismatic as he was.
There was Joshua but...

No, the legion was built up by one man. cut of the head of the snake...
Sure someone else might take power but they will never command the respect of Caesar and any power they do have would be fickle and fading
even Caesar himself was losing power. he was going to be betrayed.
in the end, it will dissolve into roaming bandits and gangs until a stable system of government overpowers them.
It's basically universally agreed upon and even insinuated in a few endings (iirc could have been dialogue) that once Ceaser dies the legion will collapse in on itself since the entirety of the legion is essentially following Ceaser himself rather than his ideals.
Curing his tumor or making Arcade his personal physician obviously extends his life but that's really just delaying the inevitable, especially with someone like Lanius next in line to take over.
Alright, now that's explained. Where the heck do they find their company's worth of football gear to keep the military supplied?!
They find it in the mystery plot hole warehouse.

"We are the fostbal tribe, Caesar, we study the ancient teachings of fostbal"
"Nice armour. how'd you make it?"
"We found the original armour of our god [insert football player name here] and made our own in his image using the resources of the land and lots of gecko hide."
"Easy and cheap to make in large quantities... say, how'd you like to join my legion?"
even Caesar himself was losing power. he was going to be betrayed.
Where does this come up, if you don't mind me asking? This is the first I've heard of a plot to usurp Caesar, but then I've never done a pro-Legion playthrough (can't seem to pass through Nipton without murdering Vulpes) so I don't know if there's some quest I've missed.
Jesus christ I forgot how terrifying yao guai were.

At least I get a warning this time unlike in FO3 where I turn around and suddenly it's ripping my face off.

Keep in mind that these are still the early years for the Legion. They don't exactly have their Rome yet where they can have a proper government and society. Like the early Romans, the Legion are still just barbarians looking to expand and aren't going to give too much leeway for slaves and cause them to run away.
Not to mention that we have only really seen them during war time, most of those slaves are war prisoners or people picked up from raids. Slaves that work on the frontlines are usually the ones that are going to be worked until death instead of being used as just unpaid laborers, they only a temporary resource.
Also, if you look back at history you'd probably see that most people would just follow a leader instead of his ideas (see: almost any absolute ruler.) There have been multiple times throughout history where a leader would die an even better one would take their place. Caesar wanted to just win the war and have his own Pax Romana, where he could find someone who would be politically capable to take his place as a leader of a people instead of just an army.
But without any knowledge of their lands to the east or what their future might hold, there isn't really much to say about them other than being generally evil.

I'd rather have a game that lets me actually see what i'm doing. Besides the 1400 hours i've lost to new vegas alone are testament to how good the game is...shit engine and all.
It's also worth noting that Frostbite isn't exactly a recordholder for being bug-free. And it's primarily designed for a specific type of game that only shares the most basic of features with Fallout. It'd be more work than just writing an entirely new engine from scratch trying to coax Frostbite into running a Fallout game.
Alright guys since I have no GPU and intel graphics I've decided to install that free GOG.com copy of Fallout I got a few years ago. Anything I need to know before going into the game? Yes I am a fallout 3 baby never played any of the games besides 3 and New Vegas. What am I in for?

Go for high agility and luck.
You should also go for high charisma because it's far easier to talk your way out of situations than to fight.
Get Fallout FIXT, it's great.
Fast shot is a great trait as well.
Be careful not to piss anyone off, you can't just say everything that pops up like in Fallout 3/New Vegas.
Think about the consequences for your actions, because there are really big repercussions for actions you make.
You should return to locations you've already visited if you have time, new quests will often appear even in small settlements.
Don't read up on the wiki it'll spoil shit for you.
Make sure you make a stop at Shady Sands on your way to Vault 15.
Use your brain.

It is usually recommended to start with 6-8 agility, as that determines how many things you can do before the enemy can make a move, also tag small guns, always tag small guns. And maybe repair, seeing as later in the game, you can obtain some power armor.
You sure I should get FIXT on my first playthrough? I'm not really one for mods on a first playthrough, but if it really makes the game bettuh I'm all for it.

Yes. You should definitely.
Fallout FIXT just fixes a few problems and restores a couple of cut features, as well as including the high-res patch.
Don't make your strength too low that you can't even pull triggers properly.
The red dot at the bottom lets you switch between Item 1 and Item 2 quickly, use it often.
The skilldex is what you use to pickpocket/repair and other shit.
You need water to travel long distances.
