You people don't appreciate rolling pins enough.
i just used those dangly things connected to my arms.... FISTS! thats the word
Your arms would've been pretty fucking tired, considering that there wasn't a single moment where i wasn't completely surrounded. IWS is a fantastic mod.
The best players use a pool cue during the fight against Lanius
Nope, the real best players use air to beat Lanius

Give me some help FP. So I met the Water Lords in the hub and they're telling me that I need 5000 caps to give my vault some extra water. Ok that's fine and dandy, I'll do some jobs with the caravan or somethin', but I don't know how to work the trade system. I destroyed the scorpion lair for shady sands and I sold them all of the scorpion tails for like 40 dollars a pc or something, but I have no way of tracking how many dollars I have. Was I supposed to take 40 caps from their side and get 40 caps in return for a scorp tail? Did I give the scorp tails for free?

And they were saying it was a fair trade, yeah right! Are scorp tails even worth that much? Should I just reload an old save? Why is the dollar system there anyway? To give you an idea of how much an item is worth in caps?

Alright I have 100 days left without paying the water lords 5000 caps; I can do this.
Also there is a pdf of the manual in the installation folder for Fallout which might help.
Yes I should have realized that. Thanks so much.

So, which do you guys think is better, the Damage Resistance system of Fallout 3 or the Damage Threshold system of Fallout New Vegas?
Is there any mod out there that can sort of make the economy in NV similar to Fallout 3? That's really the only thing I can compare it to. But in Fallout 3, money felt like it was a little harder to make simply because merchants didn't regularly have thousands of caps on them, granted, they had more like hundreds, but still low in comparison. I've always been shocked how easy it was to make caps, that I could pretty much bribe my entire way through the game if I had the option, and the treasure of the Sierra Madre pales in comparison to what I can make just by salvaging somebody's armour of their corpse. Here I am in the Capital Wasteland with TTW, and I have people asking for a few hundred in caps for certain favours, which I imagine is normally supposed to feel like an expensive amount, but is pretty much pennies with how NV shells it out.
So, which do you guys think is better, the Damage Resistance system of Fallout 3 or the Damage Threshold system of Fallout New Vegas?
I like the mixture of both, but I dislike how FNV doesn't give the player nearly as many sources of Damage Resistance as Fallout 3 has. It makes the damage system feel wasted, since the only real way to gain DR is through temporary means, chems and whatnot, nothing permanent. It's irritating how NPCs can have inherent perks that give them pretty fair-sized DR bonuses, but no longer players. It's a shame really, since when you mix DR and DT, the protection system can be pretty potent.
So, which do you guys think is better, the Damage Resistance system of Fallout 3 or the Damage Threshold system of Fallout New Vegas?
DT, but it's still not perfect. Major glaring flaw is that it's not even necessary, anyone semi-skilled at FPS can play the entire game through all 50 levels without a single point of it. Secondly, it doesn't actually mitigate damage below that threshhold. Some still bleeds through. Which makes it kinda funny when you plink a deathclaw to death with a varmint rifle despite having enough DT to ignore such low power arms entirely.

Fighting things like NCR troopers becomes laughable, because they can literally unload hundreds of bullets into your power armour and not do a single thing. Yet, you'll still be seeing blood on your screen from the attack. The way it works against you can feel odd too, you'll visually be seeing an opponent bleed, but not take any damage, or very little. I guess the only reason damage isn't mitigated completely is perhaps the impact. It might not pierce your flesh, but the impact of the shot might still hurt.
That's A: The entire point behind power armor and B: how it worked in the 2D games. You wore a full suit of PA you were completely impervious to small arms fire. Nothing under an AP .308 stood any chance whatsoever of harming you, and even that struggled greatly.
Any tips on getting Fallout 3 to not-crash every 1-5 minutes? No exaggeration there. Vanilla, lightly modded, heavily modded, I'm lucky if I get to walk more than a block before the game freezes. I've got the unofficial patch + other misc patches, and I've done a few other fixes I've seen online but nothing seems to improve. Hell I'd be happy with playing for 30 minutes before a crash.
You're on Windows 7. Fallout 3 HATES Windows 7. Nobody knows why, but it does.
But it is fine with W8? At least, FO3 likes my Windows 8.
Has anyone else had an issue with TTW where, once they get to New Vegas, they can't use the vigor tester? It's grinded my playthrough to halt with not being able to leave the doc's house.
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1328904 should fix your crashing shit
You're on Windows 7. Fallout 3 HATES Windows 7. Nobody knows why, but it does.
It's got something to do with recent CPUs having more than two cores, and Fallout 3 being flat out unable to use quadcore CPUs, to the point it makes the game CTD constantly. Basically the issue's got more to do with the specific version of gamebryo used with F3 shitting itself over modern hardware than W7 itself. To fix it, do that :
Open up the fallout.ini file in: My Documents\My Games\Fallout3 Find the line: bUseThreadedAI=0 change it to: bUseThreadedAI=1 Add another line after it and insert: iNumHWThreads=2 This will limit the game to 2 cores and prevent the engine bug from causing the game to freeze. *If the game still crashes write this iNumHWThreads=1
Solution's been going around basically since the release of W7.
Well I looked in the .ini and that fix was already there, I might have put it there a year or two ago and forgot about it... tried the other suggestion and it doesn't work. Oh well, guess I'll just go back to New Vegas.
