OK, after several hours of fucking around with different balances, i've noticed a big flaw, the 40mm rounds don't have a reduced splash area, i have no idea how to fix this, so just deal with the extremely OP 40mm rounds, but i need to ask, is it OK for me to upload this somewhere and post it here with the files from the game? Again i have that issue that the mod requires files that are inside a BSA and i don't know how to make it use those BSA files. I will be uploading this however, mostly for testing and opinions about balance, but not today, tomorrow morning, is 1AM here. As for changes this mod makes, it adds 4 recipes for making HEAT ammo, two for the missile launchers, and one for the 25mm and 40mm grenade launchers. Three of the new ammotypes are standard HEAT rounds, with a low blast radius and slightly increased damage, with a -25DT modifier. The 4th ammotype is a modified high velocity missile, in addition to the standard HEAT effects, it has a 1.35 damage modifier. Velocity of the new projectiles have been increased due to the weight of the rounds being dropped slightly(cutting out excess explosives for the metal cone perhaps), so you get better range to offset the really low radius. These aren't intended to be room clearing WMDs, but rather something to make the weaker non-thrown explosive weapons better vs armor. Well shit, somebody beat me to it, but they did it the lazy as hell way, renaming the HE rounds to Shaped Charge, i made entirely new ammotypes with their own crafting recipes. Also i renamed the 40mm HEAT to HEDP to kinda cover my ass on the bug that is making my HEAT 40mm too powerful, so i dropped the damage and changed it. Definitely gonna release tomorrow. Another question, couldn't i just completely unpack the Fallout new vegas BSA files, designate the files to be used by my mod, and repack them? i have a feeling that it won't work.
Also, how should i go about this? Add a -15DT modifier to the ammo, or make the explosion really powerful, but condensed into a very small radius?
I vote both, and I'd also vary the power. 25mm would have -15DT but 40mm would have -30DT, since you can pack a much larger charge in the bigger grenade.
Yeah, and with my somewhat limited knowledge of shaped charges, i can balance them pretty easily, but making a particle effect for the blast is not exactly something i know how to do.
HEAT ammo is just a great big shaped frag grenade flying at high velocity. The standard frag grenade particle effects would fit just fine.
Gonna get to work on that HEAT ammo mod, should i make them craftable, buyable, or both?
Both. And findable in the wild.
you can use the pulse-grenades or the pulse variant of the 40mm grenade can decimate power-armor troops.
The problem with doing this is that it only works on power armor and robotic foes. Which are quite few in numbers. HEAT works on any armored enemy. HEAT does not care what's behind that armor, it is an equal opportunity wrecking ball and will fuck Deathclaw up just as badly as it will BoS paladins. Or heavy armor toting NCR troopers, since their T-45d suits are stripped of all the electronic bits and bobs that make them vulnerable to pulse ammo.
I loved vault 106, I wish they implied more into it. I think it could have made a good DLC with a deeper story.
When i said that, i mean non-combat skills, going above 100 with the combat skills gives you a higher and higher chance with diminishing returns to make a hit. Going above 150 is nearly a waste though, since there's never certainty on anything in those games, including getting hits at 95% certainty, missing is still a possibility. [editline]6th April 2014[/editline] You're really underestimating the usefulness of Fast shot, you don't get a Gauss pistol until late game, and you can get a .44 revolver in the Den. It's great with the lesser enemies nearby, but the be all end all of weapons is the p90c in terms of killing shit. You can use single shot for weaker enemies to save ammo and AP, and bursts to tear bigger ones completely apart. As for the 10 luck, that's easy to get, just have 7 from the beginning and get the Hubologist scans in NCR and San Fran, instant 10 luck. Coupled with Sniper at level 24, absolutely nothing is a danger to you. You're also not wrecking yourself in every facet, you may not be able to aim, but you can still fuck everyone up. Take for example, a non-instadeath critical headshot may do 100-200dmg with a gauss rifle, which eats too much AP to be a good thing for soloing groups of tough enemies. A burst from a p90c with JHP 10mm ammo and sniper perk will break that by far, in a single turn with the prereqs i stated in my above post and two p90cs, you can fire 48 10mm JHP/AP rounds, at 12 damage each base, that's over 400 damage if all 4 bursts hit every single round, get sniper and those criticals will break 300-400 in each burst. The highest a living beings health can be is 999, including yours and Frank Horrigan's. If you need a bit more proof, here's a screenshot i took today, which i cropped to the infobar at the bottom of the screen. [t]http://i.imgur.com/qg9Pt2g.png[/t] Sure it was used on an unarmored target, but that was JHP ammo, use AP ammo on a target with armor, and their shit is wrecked.
Something else handy to know for dakka builds, Bonus Ranged Damage gives +2 damage per round, so while it shows a missile launcher on the icon, it gets more effective the more rounds your weapon fires in a burst, so again, P90 wrecks face, or a minigun if you're using big guns. [editline]7th April 2014[/editline] Basically the most effective small guns build in the game is being Tealc [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5636656/500px-SG1P904.jpg[/t]

I already have a working prototype mod, and it kicks ass, but making them buyable would be a little OP, so i've decided to keep them a craft only ammotype. I don't really know that much about the GECK, and i do think that having them available inside certain areas is not a bad idea, but i'm trying to go for maximum compatibility, right now all my mod requires is that you have the base game installed. I'm gonna upload my prototype version so you can test it though.
I don't get why more games don't have first person legs. I mean, I kind of do; it's more of an afterthought kind of thing, but how hard can it be? I mean, Halo 2 had them, and that's ten years old.

It's all about little details, most companies ignore them because they figure no one will notice. For example if you fire directly upwards in Halo the bullets will come back down.

Man I dislike bad gamebryo triggers. The situation. I was playing New Vegas yesterday and let the monorail blow up on the quest 'I put a spell on you'. So I wanted to restart the quest however I didn't have a save other than my monorail blown up save. So I reset the quest and was on my way until I got stuck at the McCarran Control Tower waiting for Captain Curtis to send his radio message. This is where I hate triggers. When you enter the control tower initially it will set 'bDoneOnce' to 1. This integer is to prevent the trigger for the radio message from executing more than once. Fine. Well not actually cause it will indefinitely save this so I was unable to complete the quest(not even using console commands to force complete the quest was working). So eventually after opening GECK I decided to take a look and found the issue as stated. I then fixed the issue. Now I'm on a quest to fix these types of trigger issues. Here's what I did to fix the trigger. Current Trigger Script http://pastebin.com/r3H8Qqgz Proposed Trigger Script Changes http://pastebin.com/pSMJP1mq I decide to do this because after looking for a solution on google. I never found it, until I went into GECK to figure out the issue. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Talk:I_Put_a_Spell_on_You
"But doing that takes effort!" and for them, time = money and all that jazz
Quite literally with Obsidian where Bethesda gave them two massive middle fingers for getting an 84 instead of an 85 and then cutting all of their bonus cash. Obsidian are fucking wizards for working with the shit engine Bethesda gave them, making it work better, and then making a more fleshed out game with it than Fallout 3.

I'm Clark and addicted to Psycho. It's been 2 minutes since I last got high.
Some fixer should fix that.
I got a bunch of fixer. Just taught it was funny she actually said something. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10790421/dxtory/FalloutNV%202014-04-07%2015-15-43-068.png[/t]
Steady addiction master race It's like the fallout equivalent of huffing markers
Get on my level Steady, Turbo, and Med-Ex over here.
Deathclaw sperm, the most potent drug in the entire wasteland . get on my level Actually don't it's horrible down here.
Get on my level Steady, Turbo, and Med-Ex over here.
Jet, Ultrajet and Rocket Ultra-race here. I love having enough AP to kill an entire town with a 9mm pistol in one VATS session. Little bit of an update on my mod, i've added some explosive 12 Gauge rounds, they have a -8DT modifier, i came up with it after realizing that there's no AP shotgun ammo in the vanilla game without GRA.
You do that and come back when you've got some. We'll be waiting, good luck.
I wish there was some info. almost 330 pages and it's mostly about aging mods and lore.
I netted my first addiction by drinking two Beers at once. Those were also the first two beers I had found so far. And no Fixer or doctor anywhere nearby. Fun. Although last time I checked upon my game, I was still playing Honest Hearts with around 7 bottles of Scotch on my person and about half a pharmacy of chems in my inventory. Guess I had been saving that for a rainy day....

I almost always stay off drugs in Fallout. I like to save them for emergencies. May this playthrough of NV get an addiction and massacre the Legion lategame.
No drugs for me thank you very much!
I always combine Med-X with Buffout and Psycho. Get yourself a Chainsaw, Minigun, or just Brass Knuckles and you pretty much become Doomguy.
Turbo is best
Turbo Because bullet time
thank god stimpaks aren't a drug i would have died of OD a long time ago
