Killing Motor-Runner made me feel pretty bad when I went to visit the Khans later. And thinking logically, there are now packs of loose drug-crazed fiends who no longer have someone somewhat sane telling them what to do, that's kinda fucked up.
Motor-Runner just uses the drug addled fiends as a shield from the NCR. He only cares about the fiends inside the vault.
Most dreaded quest in Fallout 3 and New Vegas?
The fucking beginning of New Vegas. I HATE HAVING TO WALK ALL THE WAY AROUND THE MAP TO GET TO NEW VEGAS! If only there were an option like "Have you played through this game already?" and if you say yes someone goes "Oh hey the NCR Rangers came in and killed dem Deathclaws!, now you can go straight to Vegas!"

It takes about 5 minutes if you stick to the cliffs.
I've always wondered why they made that thick area of highly dangerous enemies on the left side/middle of the map in New Vegas. It really discourages exploration, which is the main focus of the game.
I've always wondered why they made that thick area of highly dangerous enemies on the left side/middle of the map in New Vegas. Exploration isn't really the main focus of the game.
Getting to Vegas from the start of the game is easy. It takes about 5 minutes if you stick to the cliffs.
That's what I did too, managed to kill one of those cock blocking fuckers with my plasma pistol. Too bad I'm low level.
Hard Luck Blues, I hate that one.
Vault 34 its truly annoying if you forget to save while progressing. If you die you have to go through the entire cave and the Vault itself, which is a big labyrinth with the underwater stuff to collect.

Sometimes I wonder how parts of the vanilla game are so utterly fucked up and broken. Take iron sights for one. On almost every single gun they are SHIT. Fucking tiny near invisible stubs protruding from the weapon. Or the sight picture is so fucked that you are better off just hip firing. Not to mention the default gunplay being utter trash, but I can forgive that because it is first and foremost an RPG. The thing that really bugs the shit out of me is when there are random delays after I take damage before I can access my inventory, or sometimes when multiple limbs of an enemy are crippled. I have to sit through every notification of every fucking limb I've crippled before I can use a health item or change weapon. And switching weapons. Did they honestly think it made the game better to make the time to equip a new weapon take like 2-3 seconds? What if I want to throw a grenade into a room before I swap to a pistol or shotgun? Or I use up the ammo in the gun I'm currently holding and an enemy is running at me? Am I missing vital hotkeys somewhere? I would love to swap between two weapons in my inventory, or just have throw grenade bound to the G key or something. I don't think those are mechanics that would seem out of place in a post apocalyptic rpg. It just feels so outrageously clunk to have to open up my pip-boy to perform fairly menial tasks. Also, why don't NPCs take fall damage? I knock enemies into the air fairly regularly with my explosives, and no matter if it's 10 feet or 100, they always get back up and dust themselves off like they tripped on their shoelaces. And being set on fire. Getting shot or killed by NPCs calmly kneeling and firing away at me while totally engulfed in flames is also infuriating. Couldn't they have created some sort of panic behavior for light and medium armored enemies that cause them to run if they are on fire? Also, I think whoever designed dynamite and long fuse dynamite should leave game design forever. Maybe that's too harsh, but it has to be one of the most useless weapons I have ever encountered in a game. It has a glacially slow equip, and throw time, and most of the time I use it, enemies can just casually stroll away unless they are incapacitated, completely avoiding the detonation. *end rant* Sorry I had to get that off my chest. I love NV and the mods I put on, and maybe you guys can shed some light on why certain things are the way they are in the base game that are just stupid design choices or engine limitations. Sorry again for my tirade.
-wall of text-
Project Nevada solves all of your problems.
-Houston, Textas-
I'd say that there's mods fixing these things, but for those on console, there's a way around most things there. Firstly, if the ironsights are fucked, go into thirdperson by pressing F or whater you bound it to, crouch and aim, then press F again, it shows the crosshair over the ironsights, then you just need to remember that the bullets will go in that spot. The pipboy damage delay is a pain in the ass though, and if you're fighting someone with a Heavy Incinerator, you may as well die, since the only time you could open it is during a reload. There are hot-keys as well, hold down a number on your main section of your keyboard and click a weapon or chem. Fall damage on NPCs isn't that big of a deal, so don't worry about it. Dynamite, while worthless as a weapon, can be turned into time bombs for bigass buckets of caps. Most problems with FO3 and FONV are due to the devs being lazy/seriously pressed for time. People who are basically wizards with the GECK do amazing things to fix them.
-yet another wall of text, this time smaller-
Or if your me, just sell everything from Legion Assassin Parties and hoard weapons/armor/whatever.
Because they wanted you to follow a questline where you track Benny's route back to New Vegas. Exploration isn't really the main focus of the game.
It works as a way to pace the story. For the first few plays, then you just wanna get to Vegas already and cut the bullshit.
Project Nevada solves all of your problems.
PN is slightly overrated, it adds many nice things, but there are other mods out there that do it better. I guess it's nice if you don't like hunting and picking for things though. Advanced Recon Thermal Nightvision, JIP Selective-Fire, and JIP Companion Command & Control are the three top mods i'd recommend in place of the main PN module.
So if I bought Fallout 2 on GOG.com who would get the money?
So if I bought Fallout 2 on GOG.com who would get the money?
Bethesda i think, they own the rights to Fallout as a whole.
-snip misread-
So if I bought Fallout 2 on GOG.com who would get the money?
If you got Fallout 2 on GoG you would get nothing because it doesn't exist.
So if I bought Fallout 2 on GOG.com who would get the money?
Fallout isn't available on GOG. That's why it went free for that limited time. Only option is Steam.
I've always wondered why they made that thick area of highly dangerous enemies on the left side/middle of the map in New Vegas. You meet multiple factions, Gangers, Legion, NCR, Khans, ect, and learn about them while leveling up and getting better gear. If anything it encourages more exploration.
Fallout isn't available on GOG. That's why it went free for that limited time. Only option is Steam.
But I can't even buy it on steam as it is not available for purchase on the fallout 2 store page.
But I can't even buy it on steam as it is not available for purchase on the fallout 2 store page.
I honestly have no clue where it's sold anymore.
Friend of mine got it off Amazon.
Is it easier to significantly touch up (and work from) existing Fallout models or recreate them entirely from scratch?
Most dreaded quest in Fallout 3 and New Vegas?
Don't Tread On the Bear Instantly 80% of all NPCs attack on sight
Is it easier to significantly touch up (and work from) existing Fallout models or recreate them entirely from scratch?
It depends. People who know how to use NifSkope but don't know how to model usually just touch up on existing models instead of making their own and vice versa.
I depends. People who know how to use NifSkope but don't know how to model usually just touch up on existing models instead of making their own and vice versa.
Wasn't working on modding Fallout though. Been working with UE4 and decided it'd be neat to get a multiplayer Fallout thingamajig (no quests or anything like that; Fallout 2238 I guess minus the Russians) going. Framework is decently far along, but I lack content and suck at modeling so I'd rather just steal from New Vegas. Problem is that the game is absolutely ugly, especially when it comes to textures.
Getting to Vegas from the start of the game is easy.
