Might be that tehy didn't want to add their own ammo so they used the nearest caliber bullet, forgetting that it's a rifle round.
Released a Sten:
Fallout 4 has (apparently) been absent from E3 this year. However, behind closed doors, Bethesda gave details and a 37 second trailer for the upcoming Fallout 4. Pete Hines of Bethesda is keeping tight lipped about the 45 minute presentation, but it seems there was a leaker inside who was willing to give this information.
> Fallout 4 has been in development since January 2011 by a small team, as the majority were working on Skyrim.
> As of February 2013, the team working on Fallout 4 is the size of the team which was working on Skyrim. This is due to Skyrim development ending.
> As it stands now, Fallout 4 will release on Xbox One, PS4, PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. However, this is still subject to change.
> The actual announcement for Fallout 4 will come BEFORE E3 2014, but will NOT launch in 2014.
> The expected launch is in October 2015.
> The game is (as of June 2013) 55% complete, consequently, voice actors will be hired towards the end of 2014.
> There is no planned multi-player, but there is a possibility of Co-Op locally.
> The game will take place in Somerville, Cambridge, Arlington (and surrounding areas). The main setting is in a Post-Apocalyptic Boston. However, this area will not be immediately accessible.
> The story is not clear, however, Vaults exist.
> The 37 second trailor starts starts with a half-broken phone sparking. The scene pulls out slowly with the stereotypical music you would hear. Slowly you work out the scene is pulling out of a belltower. As it pulls further out, you see a destroyed town around. This is Boston. Suddenly, you hear the bell chime loudly, and the screen changes black instantly. The words of Ron Pearlman are heard "War... War never changes...". The logo for Fallout 4 appears with the 5 platforms above listed.
Aside from all the rumours, this is the only confirmed news. It just looks like we have another 2 years before we'll be able to play the game.
Right now, I'm yelling "HOORAY" while simultaneously shitting miles of rage snake.

It'll be worth the wait.
IT WILL.

Four years since Skyrim.
Makes sense.
I'm okay with late 2015
We're talking about Fallout 4 here after all, not something you'd want to serve half-baked.
I hope F4 will have dual-wielding system from Skyrim. Would be badass to shoot from 2 .357s. Or 2 laser pistols.
I hope it will be worth all the fat and weight they can muster. Fallout 3 left a bad lore-shitting taste in my mouth. New Vegas cleaned it off.

And I do hope that F4 will have about as much weapons as NV. And they should be diverse, pretty much everything in Fallout 3 was semi-automatic, except for Hunting Rifle and Lincoln's Repeater. I'm talking about pump shotguns, cowboy repeaters, grenade rifles, revolvers, y'know, the stuff we saw in NV.
And weapon modding.
Maybe the small team working on it during Skyrim's development was people from Obsidian Entertainment? Please?
Nah it sounds like they are talking about an inhouse team.
I'm one of the two people who preferred F3 over New Vegas, I hope they go for the F3 style, even though I'm sure they wouldn't do that only to please me and Bob.

New Vegas levels of indepth gameplay and content in a fallout 3 setting and atmosphere.
I would love a game set no more than 15 years after the bombs
Well.
2015 October, at least we KNOW it is in development.
And by then I will have upgraded my PC.

This. I absolutely loved the Capital Wasteland's atmosphere
I just hope the gunplay in Fallout 4 is more realistic, more-so making guns sound and act less like pea-shooters and more like actual guns.

And like I already said, more diverse guns. Something else than magazine-fed and semi-automatic, please.
I'd love to see all sorts of bolt-action, cylinder loaded, single-shot, pump-action guns; would definitely add a welcome variety to the Fallout experience. Hell, even some more belt-fed weapons would be nice
So much potential for Fallout 4, I hope they don't waste it..

One thing I prefer about FO3 when comparing it to NV is the main radio station. Mr New Vegas sounds bored out of his brain but his reporting is yonks better.
Since Bethesda is probably making it I am far less hyped about it than I should be. Seeing as the butchered both Fallout 3 and Skyrim, I am very "oh" about F4.
They were both very enjoyable games though, I was by no means disappointed with either of them, even when playing through each of them 3+ times
Ps3 and Xbox 360?
Comeeeee oooooooon
I doubt they would release a game in 2015 on Xbox 360 and PS3.
If they do, I won't be pleased since they will just be holding back the game.
EDIT:

Really? I seriously hope that it won't effect the size of it....
I'm sure by Fall 2015 they'll cut the PS3 and 360 out of the equation, I mean that's like two entire years of development.
Just as I figured. Game's been cooking for quite some time.

Good, good. No timed exclusivity you dicks.
> The game is (as of June 2013) 55% complete, consequently, voice actors will be hired towards the end of 2014.
Yupyup. I figured it was in a roughly playable alpha with the main quest roughed out by now.
> There is no planned multi-player, but there is a possibility of Co-Op locally.
Ooooh. I've always wanted co-op. AI followers are useful as pack brahmin but a living breathing person can be useful in combat too.
> The game will take place in Somerville, Cambridge, Arlington (and surrounding areas). The main setting is in a Post-Apocalyptic Boston. However, this area will not be immediately accessible.

So we'll likely see the Institute..or wherever the fuck Zimmer was from. Sweet.
Damn, reading through this thread is making me want to reinstall FO3/FNV
But as soon as I stuff my game full of mods and stuff I'll probably lose all interest immediately after launching it.
NV would have been awesome if they had used and engine like the one in FUEL or Just Cause 2.
It would be awesome to have car battles with Raiders and the likes.
I don't know, I'm not optimistic about it at all.
Considering it's unlikely to be developed by Obsidian(numbered sequel is huge deal and they were done by Bethesda in the past), which means simpe, black-and-white story, quests that hardly interject, not much endings, lack of lore following ala ogre super mutants, Enclave out of nowhere, white knight BoS, etc.
Also, another reason is the Gamebryo engine, which Bethesda cling onto as if it's last parachute in the world and the plane is falling from the sky.
Adding to that, PS3 and X360 having release too, means it's unlikely for FO4 being truly next-gen, unless it's developed by some other dev party(could be Obisdian, but that would be optimistic), or, being burp lefrovers from their main platform focus.
im betting for a liber-T-party organization that dresses like a mix of native american and just holywood indians out of boston
[editline]18th June 2013[/editline]
and more anti-commie propaganda! fallout new vegas was lacking in anti-commie stuff as the legion is a bunch of godless commies!
I hope to God, Odin, Buddha and Satan that Fallout 4 is more like New Vegas than Fallout 3.
But with a main radio host who doesn't sound like he hasn't had his coffee yet.
