I've had problems with NVSR as well. I don't use it for that reason.
The game still gets extremely choppy and the audio gets staticky but there's nothing I can do.
Where can I find the unique weapons and armour in PN though?

drop the exe in your game directory, launch the game from it (if you're using FOMM you gotta add it to custom launch options)

What about NVSE?
What about NVSE?
Exactly the same, except you launch it from fnv4gb

Now I'm really confused, I want to use the 4GB and NVSE, so I can use Project Nevada (I turned it off when I had TTW on).
So I have to put NVSE into the 4GB, or is the 4GB also NVSE?

just launch the 4gb exe. The patch detects NVSE and works along side it.

Danke.
I disagree about turning the DLCs off in FOMM. They tend to load in whenever the fuck they want to if you don't have them enabled, and while this works okay with an unmodded game, my experience shows that letting them choose their own load order will make them crashy heaps of shit more often than it doens't.
I keep my DLC checked in the order of release at all times. One less load order conflict to worry about.
I usually don't give a shit about it, never had load issues from the DLC loading differently. I mean never, in over 500-600 hours of play, not a single DLC load order related issue.
Wow, took a quick look at my mod's nexus page, and it appears to be semi-popular, two endorsements, 31 downloads, and 1250+ views. I want to make another update, but i have no other ideas on what to add or change aside from balance. I guess i can work on vendor support, but i need help with that. I tried all three methods on the GECK Wiki, simultaneously to no effect.
So I start up Fallout New Vegas from the 4GB and I cannot start a new game at all.
Playing my first game of Fallout 3, after having played all other Fallout games. Recommended mods (Preferably hidden gems)?

If you have all the DLC, then go grab the Terrence Starship Command Mod.
It's just amazing.

Thanks for the mod suggestion.
Yup I have all DLC, I'm also interested in graphical improvements, gameplay elements.

There's also FWE which is Fallout New Vegas's Project Nevada.
Made by the same team too.

oh man MZC was fun, best with the Enclave Commander mod addon that allowed you to call down people in the ships.

It was actually Mothership Zeta Crew if I remember correctly.

Let's use Point Lookout as an example - what was the main plot of Point Lookout? Was it about the decades long feud between Desmond, Calvert and the dozen or so remaining pre-war entrepreneurs locked in their pointless game of cat and mouse? Or was it about the brain-damaged tribals that paid tribute to a hallucination-inducing fruit plant and the ferryman who was manipulating them? Wait, or did the plot have to do with the locals worshipping an elder god and the tragedy that would entail if the unholy book related to said elder god wasn't destroyed? Or was it about having to find Nadine?
Point Lookout hit the nail on the head of everything fundamentally right and wrong with FO3: Sub-par summer blockbuster writing and plot, incredible exploration and atmosphere.

That said, PL is still the tits.
Is there a better list of recommended mods for Fallout 3 anywhere? The one in the OP is pretty sparse and probably outdated by now. Also, what mod manager should I use? I've been using Nexus Mod Manager for pretty much everything in the past but I hear it's terrible or something.

Remove Great Gig in the Sky and replace it with One Of These Days from Meddle. Great Gig would not work well out of sequence like NV radio likes to.
About the 4gb patch for New Vegas, if you want it to work properly with the Script Extender there is the alternate launcher on the nvse page, just look at the FAQ section: http://nvse.silverlock.org/
There's also FWE which is Fallout New Vegas's Project Nevada.

FWE is a shitload different than PN though. It added much more than was needed and made the game so much harder. It's like a mix of Misery 2.0.3 and SGM 2.1 in FO3.
Fallout 3 mods suck. I can't find a decent weapon mod, or even a power armor mod.

FWE covers both of those. Introduces a ton of weapons based off Fo1/2 weapons along with some new power armor. (Including a classic version of the Enclave power armor and upgraded versions of Outcast/BoS variants.)
