Yeah I'll probably sharpen those up a bit
So what Expansion should I play next (that isn't Point Lookout)
Old World Blues (not kidding, if you have it for NV play it)
Old World Blues is probably my favorite DLC in any bethsoft game. It's wonderful, even better if you have Wild Wasteland.
Also i feel bad for Raul, he is not useless, really

He looks so sad. Like those kids at your birthday party who sit alone in their misery.
Raul is easily my favorite companion. He's worth going through Black Mountain for
well yeah, he's voiced by danny trejo
also he's the only guy who will wear a huge sombrero and enclave power armor at the same time
also he's the only guy who will wear a huge sombrero and enclave power armor at the same time
also the only guy who has any right to carry a big revolver
also the only guy who has any right to carry a big revolver
he's a better shot than boone, best companion hands down
sure boss, the old man will crawl around in the dirt to keep hidden

Raul is the best companion in the game.
Whoever made this deserves to be latched to a cross by Legionnaires.
Raul:
Best backstory.
Best voice.
Best dialogue.
Best armor.
Best companion.

Don't forget the best companion perk too, it helps a lot
Everyone's always gushing over OWB, but I didn't really like it that much.
Lonesome Road is the best DLC for any Fallout game.
On the subject of Raul, only thing I don't like about him is his lax attitude towards The Legion. Not enough for me to blow his head off out of principal but enough to give him shifty eyes.
He's lax about the legion because he knows that they won't harm him so long as he doesn't try to provoke them. Despite the legion's intolerance towards them, they tend to ignore ghouls and super mutants unless they prove to be a threat.

Well, I say anyone who doesn't shoot Legion on sight most likely deserves to be shot on sight too. Excepting total non-combatants (kids and all that), but they want to shoot them regardless. Raul walks a real fine line there.

I love the dialogue and setting but honestly actually playing OWB was complete tedium for me

Eh, I honestly feel that Point Lookout beats it out. Also the theme song. Maybe it's just setting and atmosphere that get me.
I would love to have the next fallout game take place in the deep south, like new orleans or something. it feels it would be a great fallout setting. For once it would be nice to have a fallout setting that's still uniquely Americana, but takes place in an geographic area that's not a frigin desert or wasteland. Gives me green trees and water godamnit!
Point Lookout just feels like wasted story potential to me, the exploration was top-notch though. Lonesome Road delivers an excellent story, and although lacking in raw exploration, has some beautiful and interesting locales out on the wayside as well as on the critical path. For some reason the Cave of Abaddon sticks out in my mind.
I hate the double standards between the Legion and the NCR.
It's barbaric when the Legion executes people, but it's ok when the NCR do it?
It's barbaric when the Legion takes people as slaves, but when the NCR forces prisoners to do slave labour, it's ok?

Just kill them all and let god sort them out, independent 4 lyfe

Well, my character has a very iron-clad rebuttal to such things "Shut up, I'm the Courier".
The NCR, while not perfect, is still a step up from The Legion. In the NCR, every citizen has the right of self while absolutely no-one has any rights at all in The Legion except Caesar himself.

I don't suppose the Legion conducts trials or anything before it crucifies people? And the NCR doesn't kidnap people to make them prisoners and conduct trade with them, their prisoners are people who broke the law within the NCR's territory.
You're all arguing about which faction is the least terrible one and yet you forget the main rule of the City of Sin.

House butchers The Kings if they make peace with the squatters. He has to go.
You want something done right, you gotta do it yourself.
Independent or bust.
House butchers The Kings if they make peace with the squatters. He has to go.
Actually the only thing that I dislike about House is that he asks you to blow up the BoS bunker though that can be fixed with a mod that restores some cut dialogue along with a high speech check. He seems to handle everything better than the other factions and only he knows how to use the Hoover Dam efficiently. Over the years he might even be able to return New Vegas into the glorious city that was promised in the concept art.
I've never went for the Independent or Legion endings though. I just can't imagine the Courier being the leader of New Vegas and the Legion is just straight down evil. Also, I really don't like killing House since you're practically murdering the greatest mind in the wasteland (besides the floating brain jars in the Big MT)
Though every side has its own benefits and drawbacks so there's no right or wrong ending.
Except maybe for the Legion one. Those guys are jerks.
The Courier doesn't truly rule New Vegas, Independant is letting the Mojave rule itself, anarchy through a collection of monarchies. It's called No Gods, No Masters for a reason.
The main drawback of House is supposed to be that he would run Vegas like an Authoritarian.
But man does he have charm, it's why he's my lock screen on my phone.
