I always thought of Independent as the Courier becoming a protector for the Mojave who tries to get the different groups to work together. If you could convince the Boomers to become an military force for protection along with the Securitrons, turn the Families and Kings into some loose government, convince the Khans to stick around and make chems for medicine, and allow the various villages/districts/casinos to maintain a degree of autonomy you could create a fairly stable confederacy at the least. You don't rule, but you do become one of the most powerful and influential people in the Mojave after Hoover Dam, and before it really.
Yeah, the independent endings, especially with a good ending in OWB, basically makes you the Mojave Illuminati, you don't run things, you just get everyone else to do it for you.
I condsider the independent courier to be the best option, not only because I feel its the most fitting storywise or best for the Mojave as a whole, but because it establishes the courier as a bad ass on his own volition. As a legend for his own right. Not as a lapdog to Caesar, House or Kimball. You're just a guy who saw there was a problem, decided to fix it, and gets shit done. For me at least that makes it the most satisfying option.

Head-canon for my session: after the courier gets a wildcard ending, he uses his influence (namely, complete control over rocket-launching securitrons) to get everyone to clean up vegas/freeside/westside. Seriously it's been 100 years and there's still rocks and papers and shit lying about. C'mon people. Could probably make some paint or something too. Or weld shovels to the 'trons and have them clean up.

Look at this, freeside is full of buildings that have been fully spared by nukes. Hell even their windows resisted the blasts : But nope, fuck these clean, roomy and comfy places, let's barricade their doors so no one can get in. This place is WAY better to settle, right ? :
Either Vegas people are the stupidest people of the Mojave or they just like living among debris.
I got a couple of buildings I populate with vendors like the Steak and Liquor one(private esp plugin). It doesn't make since that North Vegas is so low in civilian population. You see majority of the civilians in casinos and barely any roaming around in their outer world cell(north freeside and the strip).
It'd probably have a metallic taste to it. After all, isn't one of the symptoms of radiation poisoning some sort of metallic taste in the mouth? I recall hearing that from some old Chernobyl documentary many years ago.
irrc that's because of the radioactive iodine in the air
is there any way at all to wear more than one item in a body slot? like, literally in the same slot and not just e.g. two hats that use different slots
is there any way at all to wear more than one item in a body slot? like, literally in the same slot and not just e.g. two hats that use different slots
I think there is a way but it would literally clip with everything and just look downright horrible
death to muties! [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/hkSi2d.jpg[/t] ~~~still a work in progress**!!~~~ diffuse painting ain't done yet and still needs a specular map, etc etc

Both of which are alarmingly absent in vanilla NV.
irrc that's because of the radioactive iodine in the air
Caesium would be a more likely fissile material remnant from the bombs. It's a much more common product and easily binds into caesium hydroxide in water.
How do I get better anti-aliasing with an ENB? Here's what I got so far
How do I get better anti-aliasing with an ENB? Here's what I got so far
Only forms of AA compatible with ENB are FXAA(i think), which makes text and stuff nearly unreadable, but luckily you can force FXAA in your display driver's settings. The other is SMAA which is a pain in the ass to use since it comes in injector form, usually it's packaged with ENB. Honestly, fuck ENB, it adds nothing to the game, and i've yet to come across a non-eyescalding mess of overdone DoF and filters. [editline]24th April 2014[/editline]
death to muties! -Frank "Fuck you" Horrigan in 3D model form- ~~~still a work in progress**!!~~~ diffuse painting ain't done yet and still needs a specular map, etc etc
I can imagine him with Ulysses' voice. I actually don't remember Frank Horrigan's voice though.
So Sensationalist Headlines has a thread about Bethesda feeling pressures by petitions to show SOMETHING related to Fallout. Here's hoping.
death to muties! [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/hkSi2d.jpg[/t] ~~~still a work in progress**!!~~~ diffuse painting ain't done yet and still needs a specular map, etc etc
Make the head smaller, the pauldrons bigger, and slap some more veins on there and you are good to go.
death to muties! [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/hkSi2d.jpg[/t] ~~~still a work in progress**!!~~~ diffuse painting ain't done yet and still needs a specular map, etc etc
it needs more pauldron, but holy crap that's fast progress. looking good.
pauldrons are so cool
See if you can't make the armor bulkier. I am certain a Super-Mutie in Power Armor would have something more bulky.
death to muties! [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/hkSi2d.jpg[/t] ~~~still a work in progress**!!~~~ diffuse painting ain't done yet and still needs a specular map, etc etc
Looks great so far. The original suit, though, has some bolts which keep the pauldrons attached to the torso's armour. Would that be difficult to add at this point?
Can't go overboard with exaggerated anatomy on this project since it's for my demoreel Can do more veins though, I'll be doing a sub-dermal map so I can go nuts with that kind of grotesque detail. [editline]25th April 2014[/editline]
Would that be difficult to add at this point?
Not difficult, but it would be redundant, the rear side of this armor more closely resembles the advanced power armor, so the whole shoulder piece is simply fused to the abdominal piece and doesn't need bolts for support The original frank horrigan design is more T51-bish (thus, the bolts) even though lore says its supposed to be modified enclave armor
Well if it had bolts the pauldrons could move up and down when he's breathing, which would look neat and everyone draws horrigan's armor like the enclave shot down a UFO and fitted it on his shoulders :v: [editline]24th April 2014[/editline]
Can't go overboard with exaggerated anatomy on this project since it's for my demoreel Can do more veins though, I'll be doing a sub-dermal map so I can go nuts with that kind of grotesque detail.
That's totally understandable, it's your take on the character. I'd still make the pauldrons a bit larger, and add some fluff they couldn't add way back then (like those chem pump pipes and massive mutie veins and stuff)
Oh yeah, Ill be blatantly stealing that pose on the left there :v: Frank smooshing a deathclaw alphas head with his left, and carrying his smoking plasma rifle in his right hand [editline]25th April 2014[/editline] P.S.: Fuck deathclaws
Since there seems to be quite an interest in radio mods here at the moment, I decided to upload this station I made for myself a while ago and never bothered to share. It was mainly inspired by some of the older mods like Mercenary and McCarran Radio. It's called Lone Wolf Radio - I originally intended to have a DJ with a physical presence at the in-game location, but I got lazy. The theme is mostly rock-based, and I basically picked songs that fit a "walking alone in a wasteland" feeling - for me, that's generally longer, slower, and calmer songs (though there are some more upbeat songs). Here's the tracklist (60 songs): http://pastebin.com/6dk14M2B http://www.mediafire.com/download/28jete8uay4xfy0/LoneWolfRadioV2.zip
Either Vegas people are the stupidest people of the Mojave or they just like living among debris.
i mean they should know how to make concrete and the mohave is also a great place for adobe a much easier simpler way to build, yet they just hoist up a piece of corigated metal on 4 posts and call it a home theres no real reason why they should live in the shitty houses they do, they were built without any consideration to the enviroment they are in, so they require enormous amounts of energy to keep warm/cool, unless of course old world houses have some super-insulation which makes them increadibly efficient but i highly doubt that because the walls appear to only be a thin sheet of plywood and veneer
Not to mention there's a couple buildings with only a few robots or bugs inside that you could get a quest to clear out. "Thanks courier, now we can move from our shitty squatter crumbling buildings into the H&H Tools factory where there's walls and roofs and electricity!"
