I'm trying to play Fallout 2, and holy god damn is it RIDICULOUSLY hard. Does anyone have any sort of early game tips at all? Because right now I'm flailing wildly at geckos, missing a 30-40 percent chance to hit every single fucking time and dying. On easy mode, which I turned on because the early game before you get a gun is bullshit that I refuse to stand.

You can get to the rat caves in Klamath by heading to the one building with the "Blades" billboard on it then taking the green hexes to the next area. Then do some exploring, there's decent loot there, and only rats so not too difficult of a fight.[/sp]

They really cranked up the difficulty in Fallout 2, in all areas, to absolutely no satisfaction or increased enjoyment.
Combat in F2's early game is easiest with Small Guns since they and their ammo are relatively common. Make sure your perception is high - this affects chance to hit in ranged combat. Make sure your strength is high enough - if it's below the weapon's minimum strength (check the description) then your chance to hit is reduced. You might want to check your luck is okay - it affects critical hit chance (it's how you cripple geckos) and there's the Sniper and Slayer perks later on which are real nice. I wish I knew about highlighting myself. Necropolis died on my first run through since a mole rat died on the junk.

Get your unarmed high enough for a decent hit chance and you can 0 damage crit insta kill everything. It's also funny in the boxing matches in new reno. One punch and you instantly kill your opponent.

OK I don't know what's broken, but can someone who has menus/options/start_menu.xml successfully combining DarnUI and MCM please upload it somewhere for me? Unified HUD Project won't fucking do it for me and I'm sick of MCM throwing a fit about it every time I pause the game.
have a fire extinguisher ready
My dick has liquud cooling. It's okay
Does anyone have any sort of early game tips at all? Don't fight pointless monsters in the wastes, just run. Unless they are Raiders.
Install a flashy enb, download strip open and more NPCs. Prepare your dick
Done that already. That's not the point. The npcs are stale as fuck, they could had made more interesting shit with each npc. And there's no life to the place and the npcs, the buildings are little as fuck as well.
Another Fallout 2 question. Is it worth, or necessary, to raise a skill beyond 100%? I want to know if I'll be needing more than that for my skills like small guns, and speech, before I start raising up energy weapons.
That doesn't even look like Fallout 3.
That doesn't even look like Fallout 3.
You are right! That looks like Fallout 3: Enhancement Mod!
I also had some problems with that. Then i Followed gophers videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-3c1a9cLL8&list=PL0E5E8CA384409B11&index=2 I just use FOMM instead of NMM.
I'm using FOMM. It doesn't work.
You are right, but then again, it is Fallout New Vegas with TTW. AND i have tried to make it kinda look like it actually are 200 years since the bombing. You actually don't need a super computer to run it. It runs fine on my soon to be two year old laptop. As you can see, its not the greatest specs.
Load order and ENB pls. My desktop has an i7 and a 780 so I can run it.
A random guy adds me
Maybe he's thinking of VaultMP, though that recently dropped NV support and was never solid to begin with
Maybe he's thinking of VaultMP, though that recently dropped NV support and was never solid to begin with
Is there even work still being done on that? looking at the website, it seems dead to me.
man that dusty distance mod looks so much better than vanilla, it's a wonder they didn't put in that kinda fog just for optimization purposes or something
[thumb]http://puu.sh/9cIfN/ff55190d47.jpg[/thumb] so i was bored and searched a bit for android wallpapers for pip boy 3000 and found an app that have all the features of it [sp]yes i am very skinny , dont judge me[/sp]
I just answer all of you in one post. It is not an ENB. Those are to power hungry for my laptop. First of, it is Fallout New Vegas With a Tale of Two Wastelands. On top of that I have Vurts flora Overhaul (dead edition) Flora--> http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/19864/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Ffallout3%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D19864&pUp=1 I use NMC's texture pack (small edition, but if you got a better GPU than me you should use the large package) On top of NMC i have the Poco Bueno Texture pack. NMC--> http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/43135/? POCO--> http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/42028/? For the skies i have Nevada Skies TTW Edition + Dusty Distance. Nskies--> http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35998/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fnewvegas%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D35998%26preview%3D&pUp=1 Dusty-->http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/39768/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fnewvegas%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D39768%26preview%3D&pUp=1 To use those two together you will need this patch made by some nexus guy, if you don't trust me read the comments on the dusty distance page and they have linked it there. Patch--> http://www.2shared.com/file/oSdTxCgf/NVSkies_Dusty_Distance_Patch.html Since i dont have an ENB i use Dynavision, the imaginator and cinematech controlled by Directors chair. Dynavision--> http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/51577/? Imaginator--> http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/39619/? Cinematech--> http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/39947/? Directors--> http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/43002/? Gopher has a nice guide on how to install those. Its in the video below from 14.22. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nn6bLQoVwFY&list=PL0E5E8CA384409B11&index=5 I also use this one for LOD noise. http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/46451/? The last thing i have is NV configator, to fine tune settings like tree-distance etc. Configator--> http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/40442/? Here are my settings, as you see, it is possible to crank it up a bit more than what i have done. That should be everything that affects the visual. SOrry if this is seen upon as spam'ish.
Fan-fucking-tastic, and don't worry, not spammish at all! Only problem I had is that (and this is before I install the suite of 4 visual effect mods, so maybe that'll fix the problem) everything is more saturated and strangely more orange/yellow than before. It's particularly jarring in the Capital Wasteland. [editline]3rd June 2014[/editline]
[sp]yes i am very skinny , dont judge me[/sp]
[sp]I'm skinnier than that, so don't worry.[/sp] :v:
I'll be sure to play with those, but with NMC large and an ENB
I've just had the greatest idea ever: Someone make a Vault 108 movie starring Gary Busey
