Why do you guys bash Gamebryo so much? It's been before used and is very stable in such games as:
Sid Meier's Civilization IV...
And that's about it.

why can other devs use gamebryo without it exploding all the time when beth can't
why can other devs use gamebryo without it exploding all the time when beth can't
Because it's Bethesda, and Bethesda doesn't know how to program without leaving a rainforest's worth of exotic bugs in its wake.
Oh boy, OWB is such a gorgeous DLC, can't wait to finish it and try Dead Money
[editline]6th June 2014[/editline]
By the way i wonder if FO4 is going to use the Skyrim system of level up the skills, it would be good

No, it's not.
If they're going to change anything it will probably just be minor modifications to perks and maybe swapping out a skill or two. If they put in any Elder Scrolls-like "natural" leveling system they'd just stir up a shitstorm.
Better use good ol' BethBryo.
The engine is just gonna be Creation modded for gibbing and ballistics. We also get okay looking shadows too if that happens.

IDK guy, my theory about FO4 and the future of Bethesda Game Studios atm is that BGS releases games at roughly 3 year basis, with a 4 year gap if transitioning to a new console. Morrowind in early 2002, TES4 in early 2006, fallout 3 in late 2008, skyrim in late 2011.
Usually by now the next game(hopefully FO4) would have already been announced, due to the usual reveal a year or two before it comes out. (typical BGS pattern)
That's why people get hyped for FO4 reveal, because it usually would be that time to get hyped because of that roughly 3 year schedule.
But FO4 hasn't been announced yet, and the last game we knew BGS was working on was Skyrim. So where is this new game?
Well, in 2013, newer consoles have been announced and have already shipped. It's halfway through 2014, about 3 years past Skyrim's release, but no word of FO4 or whatever BGS is working on.
If we look back to Oblivion, it was one of the early games to come out for the 360-ps3 generation, it basically was one of the flagship games in western rpg for that gen.
Now with newer consoles already out, and that 3-4 year gap between games, my guess is that the next BGS game will be announced SOON.
I think it might be at PAX, but I ain't sure if it would be at E3 as a surprise announcement.
And if the game is going to be released on newer consoles in 2015 (as per usual with the year or two before release announcement), it might be only for the newer consoles.
With it being only for the newer consoles, they, Beth Games Studios, won't have anything holding them back graphical fidelity wise, and will be able to make the game look pretty (Although I may be giving them a little too much credit with this one).
tl;dr
I think that the next BGS game (FO4?) will be announced this year, released next year, and will be only for the newer consoles and PC. But I may be super optimistic, almost as optimistic as Funion before his first perma.
bathesda has large amounts of cash at the moment since wolfenstein was amazing (they had like 0 part in its development, they just supplied the cash)

I'm pretty sure BGS had nothing to do with Wolf TNO, unless you are referring to the Beth softworks company.
So on my hardcore/very hard game using FOOK and PN, is it normal that it seems like enemy difficulty varies so wildly? Like average legion/NCR/varied NPCs are almost a joke to me at level 26, but then some enemies like Legion assassins can be really tough. Then on top of that, I decided to try out Lonesome Road and even the first few Marked Men you fight are just mindblowingly strong. Like, full 20-some rocket Red Glare volley will take out maybe 1/4 of one's health. What exactly is going on? I know my difficulty is way up, but is this DLC just scaling really weird or what? Seems weird that average enemies would be so weak, but others nearly impossible.

it says bathesda and zenimax on the opening screen very large and obtrusively
No, it's not.

Idk, i would like to see that "natural" leveling system in something like repair, lockpicking and crafting at least. In terms, it makes sense to have it
So today I was reading about the Rocky Flats weapons manufacturing plant and the radiological incident it had in the late 50s and it reminded me strongly of Fallout. Personally I think it gives more fuel to the strength of using Denver as a location for a Fallout game.
it says bathesda and zenimax on the opening screen very large and obtrusively
the TES and Fallout Bethesda is not the Wolfenstein and Dishonored Bethesda. Bethesda Game Studios makes Fallout and TES; Bethesda Softworks publishes TNO.
it says bathesda and zenimax on the opening screen very large and obtrusively
Look up Bethesda softworks
Then look up Bethesda Game Studios
There is a difference between the two
Bethesda softworks is owned by Zenimax
Bethesda Game Studios is a division under Bethesda Softworks
I hope you are joking

It would be good if there was some competition for Bethesda on the field of open world sandbox games. The gamebryo engine has problems since Morrowind, renaming the creature from Gamebryo to creation engine doesn't make it a better engine.
Let's hope a game like Witcher 3 can raise the bar and force Bethesda to make a better engine with less stuttering, less texture pop-in, no lip-sync bugs, no pathfinding errors, etc.
I wonder what would happen between Bethesda and the FOnline community if FOnline 2 was added to Steam for free. Hmmmm...?

I want to see what would happen if Fallout turned into a MMO... Oh wait, it got cancelled, nevermind :v:
Also i wasn't expecting such hate against the "kind of Skyrim levelling system" and i didn't understand why people were going nuts. It's because is the same system from other game, that's it?

I guess its because they should mess with Fallout's style of leveling and gameplay. SPECIAL is special (hehiue) to the series. Imagine something like Fallout with leveling and stats like Savage Worlds or Fable.
Its kind of like with Bethesda removing the classes from Skyrim, its more of a symbolic thing than a giant gameplay flaw.

fallout would not be the same if it was multiplayer, you can't really be the hero anymore and the story can't be as rich in my honest opinion.
I tried a mod for New Vegas that gives it TES progressive leveling. You pretty much configure everything itself and I really didn't like it. It would be cool for a longer run like TTW.
I hope they never make a fallout MMO, that would suck + it would remove so much of the atmosphere if there were kids everywhere typing "roflmao, lols + selling fat man for 1k caps etc"
Also, when the next fallout game comes, i hope it uses the same leveling/ skill-system that new Vegas uses. Its old-school and you have to think a bit about what you want to level up.
If they simplify the game like they did with oblivion / skyrim from morrowind, then they will feel my wrath. I hate simple character systems. What the hell is the point in leveling when all you can chose is stamina, magic and health...
The reason Fallout is such a good game, is that you have to make choices when making and leveling a char, if they make a simple system for the next game it will loose so much re playability and be so much more generic..
Should have more skill checks too. Even for just the littlest things so it could make useless skills only used for rp worth it.
why can other devs use gamebryo without it exploding all the time when beth can't
Because Gamebryo isn't the entire engine?
Because Gamebryo isn't the entire engine?
To this day, I am still not sure if Gamebryo was just the engine they used for rendering the graphics, or it was everything. Now that they have overhauled the visuals, I still can't be sure, because it still useds the same hierarchy system as the previous games.

Uh, i guess you guys are getting the wrong idea: it has nothing to do with removing S.P.E.C.I.A.L. or anything, is just that to level up your skill of let's say Lockpick, it would be necessary to pick locked doors, cases, closets and other stuff to increase that skill. Energy weapons: do damage with any kind of energy weapom. Is nothing sooooo diferrent from Fallout, in terms it would fit better, make the player feel like his learning the skills while his performing determined actions, feeling like his actually progessing. About the Perks i have no idea how it could be worked to be honest, i need to explore a little more about both games to make a good and decent mix of them. Perks well, i believe it would work just like in Skyrim i guess. Also i wasn't thinking in something like Fable and Savage World, Fable i had a little experience and doesn't fit with FO style, Savage i never heard about it before

I'm just saying that Fallout should keep it's style of leveling. While I prefer TES style leveling to most other things, I think Fallout should be left the way it is since TES style leveling has more problems as opposed to just distributing XP.

MMORPG quests feel so weird to me since they can be done simultaneously by thousands of people. You do these grand heroic things which should change the world forever, but it stays exactly the same and these very same deeds are done by everyone daily.
And emergent gameplay's no good for that. I've heard nothing but bad things about FOnline 2238.
