Can somebody help me out here with Fallout 2/New Vegas plot stuff? [SP]I want to play Fallout 2 to the canon, and I am extremely confused on what the fate of Vault City is. Vault City is listed on the Fallout wiki as being state of the NCR. However, on the FO2 endings page, it is listed that Vault City staying independent is implied to be canon. The reason for that is that Roger Westin III is listed on the Boulder City memorial. Now, Roger Westin is a politician of the NCR in Fallout 2, and if he lives, he marries Lynette, and Vault City stays independent. If he dies, VC becomes part of the NCR. So, it's implied that he married Lynette, thus making VC independent, and they would then have children, which is where the aforementioned Roger Westin III came from. So there's that. To the contrary, the only evidence I have to go on that Vault City is a state of the NCR, having not played Fallout New Vegas in about a year, is that it is listed as a state of the NCR on the Fallout Wiki. Could someone who's played it recently let me know the deal?[/sp]
[sp]It's entire possible that he lived and as NCR grew, Vault City was eventually forced to comply. Not really an option to hold out against a huge entity like NCR when your city is still small.[/sp]
[sp]They were probably forced into statehood long after the two died, anyway.[/sp] It's really sad when you think of it like that. Such is the corruption of ideals.
I absolutely loved Nevada Skies, but unfortunately it ran my FPS into the ground - I think. Honestly, it might've been that whole suite of mods I installed a while back when someone had those great pictures (I forget the username) but I just can't deal with the slowness. Maybe when I get a better computer...
Post specs through a screenshot of the program Speccy.
Well, honestly, I even get stuttering with Nevada Skies with this rig: [t]http://i.imgur.com/AB96ugh.jpg[/t] Never anything major, but my fps definitely dips in outside areas with it and NMC working together.
y'all chronic hoarders should do what I did and limit yourself to two one handed weapons, one two handed gun, a small melee/unarmed weapon for backup, 20 stimpaks and a set of light armor of your choice (I went with butch's leather jacket - that was in fallout 3, but I did a similar run in nv as well) obviously cause of rpg hoarder syndrome I still picked up guns and stuff to sell but limited myself to either not using them or only using them in the combat encounter I was in and ditching them afterwards goes a long way to make you think about what you take with you, and you get more room for shit you can sell later! it's a win/win
The moment I decided to stop keeping a shitload of gun and selling the ammo of the guns I wouldn't use, I went from piss poor to the richest man in the wastes.

Well, when I say I get stuttering, I mean it drops to 28-34. Not enough to be unplayable, but enough to be noticeable if I'm in an interior for long enough and then go outside. But, then you get used to it really quickly when outside and then have to readjust when you go back inside. Really weird, but who knows.
Dayum, point lookout in TTW is fucking hard. [vid]http://a.pomf.se/xknskg.mp4[/vid]
The guy falling like "OH SHIT, I TRIPPED ON SOMETHING"
Dayum, point lookout in TTW is fucking hard. [vid]http://a.pomf.se/xknskg.mp4[/vid]
dude I was doing that shit in winterized t-1b and a raider in the next corridor with a hunting rifle took me down before I even had chance to hit the key for vats
my brother just bought a 70$ gaming mouse to play skyrim then he realised its too complicated for him, so i have it now! mwahahahaha super snipage time
70$ gaming mouse
That's kind of absurd.
he's kind of absurd i'll probably have to give it back in a while but for now i'm playing around with it
I usually just buy a $10 mouse, $20 at the most.
bought a dynex mouse for $20 2 years ago haven't needed anything else ever since all that razor shit is overkill
Hey guys, I just got FO3 GOTY for 5$, I've already played through and beat the game years ago but not on steam. Im wondering if anyone here can direct me to good mods that change the gameplay (adds quest / weapons / new npcs etc ec) I dont care for graphic-changing mods cuz im probably gonna play it on low anyway.
I know this isnt the begging thread but can someone spare both the fallout 3 and new vegas ultimate editions?
Hello, I've been thinking of getting into NV again lately, bought most of the DLC from sale for it too, and planning to pop in some mods to fill it even more with content to find, but what kind of mod manager you people would recommend to use with NV?

Also FNVEdit is a godsend when mods decide to not play nice.
Hey guys, I'm doing a playthrough of NV, and I (for the first time, *gasp*) went inside the Gun Runners HQ. I did stuff (spoilers) [sp]went downstairs, pressed the do not press button, let the securitrons take everyone out, killed the securitrons, went back upstairs, got the key code for the sub basement from the computer, opened the sub basement door[/sp] but when I looked inside, it was just blank space w/ the missing assets symbol (the red diamonds w/ the ! sign in the middle.) and when I walk inside I fall for like 2 seconds and then land right next to the entry door to the building. My game is modded, but not w/ anything that should be affecting that area, has anyone else had this happen? What do? And yeah, Wrye Flash and FNVEdit are huuuuugely important to make mods get along.
I know this isnt the begging thread but can someone spare both the fallout 3 and new vegas ultimate editions?
The summer sale's happening right now, why not just buy them yourself like the rest of us did while they're really cheap.
Does anyone know of any really good mods for NV that provide lots of new content? I want to get back into NV, but vanilla gets boring after a while. Just to clarify, anything that puts a lot of emphasis on gear, survival, and loot.
Aright, picked up Fallout 3 via sale. Gimme the must have mods, since I have no idea what the community has come up with.
since I have no idea what the community has come up with.
you've been warned
you've been warned
Never forget page 337. A reminder to us all. [editline]24th June 2014[/editline] Most of the good mods are mentioned in the OP. The Sexy Veronica one is a joke mod and the Two Bears High-Fiving is one of those dialogue options that everybody wanted to be in the game. That ain't 2 bears high fiving.
You could have taken that as a rhetorical statement. Now you're just lying to me.

Hey there, so last Tuesday, MeltingData and M.Ciaster played a game of Fallout PnP, as GMed by me. If you're interested, here's the log and a summary of the events. Tomorrow, cdr248 and Justnobody should be joining us as well, then we'll have a party. It's actually a campaign that is a reboot with some heavy modifications to the story and new characters of the Fallout campaign I GMed about a year ago. Fallout NY Reboot: Session 1: Begin Again http://pastebin.com/9y5XkLSH
We begin our game aboard a transport ship currently inbound for Manhattan. Our passengers are Sarah Salem, a Vault Dweller with a penchant for polearms, and Marlowe, a cyborg PI. They are unaffiliated with each other, and upon hearing a scuffle to their left, they look to find three poorly armed goons beating the shit out of some guy on the floor. Sarah takes notes in a journal while Marlowe approaches these thugs. He tries to reason with them, waving his superior gun around and going for a speech approach (despite the fact that he didn't stat into speech and his Speech skill is a pathetic 18, which he needs to roll equal to or under on a 1d100 to pass). He rolls a Speech challenge to get them to back down. He gets a 1. Out of a 1d100. That is the crittiest crit you can crit on. The thugs back down and walk away, the man thanks Marlowe, and Marlowe gets XP and good karma. The two are uninterested in the other enough to bother talking, and instead hang around on their own until the ship docks. Filing down the ramp with other passengers, they stop before a notice board, reading ads about a broken water purifier and someone looking for a skilled hunting party interested in making some caps. Both notices direct people towards one of the sturdier-looking structures among the tents, hastily constructed merchant stands, and ramshackle shacks that dot the pier. Sarah, interested in the repair job, and Marlowe, interested in the hunting job, both head the same way to the building that has a rusted machine sitting against one of its walls. Inside, they find a man sleeping, and both stand around quietly until he wakes up 10 minutes later. They converse, and he tells them about a hospital that they want to set up an outpost in, but can't because of all the critters in it, which they don't have the manpower to clear. As for the purifier, it's been spitting out brown gunk in the water it "purifies." Sarah, who was only here for the repair job at first, agrees to go to the hospital with Marlowe. The man, whose name is Will, gives them directions and promises them a 300 cap reward. They head out into the city and to the hospital. On the way, they are assailed by three giant rats, but dispatch them with little effort. After a bit more, they arrive at the hospital, finding the sliding glass doors sealed tight and the windows all made of a strong, reinforced glass. Marlowe punches the glass door twice, breaking it and making an opening to walk through. Sarah kicks the glass of the second set of doors past the first set, and they are now in the hospital proper, in the lobby, where they are assailed by four giant rats. They engage in combat, killing two rats before they can act. The other two rats attack Sarah, who is closest. One gets a crit, biting a sensitive spot on her leg and knocking her to the floor as they proceed to bite the fuck out of her. Sarah and Marlowe proceed to dispatch the remaining two rats, and they loot the room, looking for supplies to fix Sarah's bleeding leg. They find a medical supply box that is locked. After failing 3 attempts to pick the lock, Marlowe asks Sarah if she can make a lockpick for him out of some random junk lying around. She complies, and he gets a new lockpick, trying to pick the lock once more. He critfails. The lock and pick break. Marlowe gets sick of this shit, grabs a fire extinguisher, and bashes it on the medical box to open it. He bashes it so hard the extinguisher gets a leak and rockets forwards, through a furniture-blocked door to the left of the entrance they came from that leads to the cafeteria, where it shatters the furniture, doors, and kills a giant spider on the other side of the doors. Inside the newly opened medical box they get a stimpak, which Marlowe takes, and a roll of bandages, which Marlowe uses his First Aid skill with on Sarah to fix her leg. He rolls a 1. Pretty much fixes Sarah's leg good as new. They head into the now-open cafeteria, finding two more spiders, one left and another right. Sarah sneaks left and skewers the unaware spider. Marlowe shoots the one to the right, and Sarah makes her way over to it before finishing it. End session.
Getting involved in PnP seems so fun, shame it seems so complicated.. Just got my new pc so going to install TTW with the Panzer mod, should be fun.
bought a dynex mouse for $20 2 years ago haven't needed anything else ever since all that razor shit is overkill
I bought a Logitech M something for $5 at Best Buy four years ago. Only replaced batteries in it once before it died. A year ago I switched to the M510 for $12, and again, have never replaced batteries and have only minor issues with latency in my room since it sits so far from the receiver. Still recommend it over anything Razor any day. [editline]23rd June 2014[/editline]
Is there a t-shirt with this image I can buy somewhere?
I second this. I want that shirt so bad.
