I dont listen to anything beucase ~imersion~
I find having music I like playing is more immersive than no music at all. Then again I'm one of those people that's always got earbuds in their ears, so...
CASM. Saves your game.
Indeed. Sucks when it saves while you're driving across the entire wasteland though.
On the bright side, Fallout 3 and New Vegas launch pretty fast.
:v:
This is gonna sound dumb, but are you sure you don't have a 360 controller plugged in?
For some reason the game defaults to this if initial startup is done with a 360 pad plugged in. I leave mine in, I just had to use said paid to navigate the menus and turn the game back over to MKB inputs instead. Once I did that the game seems to not even know the pad's there. So yeah, check this.
I dont listen to anything beucase ~imersion~
I only listen to some dark ambient just to keep myself from getting annoyed of the soundscapes
CASM. Saves your game. Don't bother trying to stop the crashing, there is only dissapointment down that road. Just try to avoid conflicting mods, move to windows 7 if you can (It seems to crash less on 7 for whatever reason) and pray. On the bright side, Fallout 3 and New Vegas launch pretty fast.
Fallout 3 is unlaunchable if your CPU has any more than 2 cores, I think. You have to edit a cfg files to limit the processing to 2 cores, or else it'll try to somehow use your quadcore at its full potential and will crash.
alright so I recently got Fallout 3 GOTY edition, and I've been adding a few popular mods. They seem to be enough for what I want. The problem is, it crashes before it reaches the main menu. these are the mods I've installed - is the load order wrong? Is there something I might've done that would prevent it from working? This is a clean install - I haven't edited the .ini (save for the thing that allows it to run on quad core) nor have I played the game at all.
Master Menu Module for MMM should be loaded before the DLC support .esp files. You should also load MMM before EVE and FWE, and move that .esp from the middle of the .esm list. There is a unified mod project somewhere that gives tons of compatibility patches for normally conflicting mods like MMM and FWE, look it up.
ok I've narrowed it down, it loads fine if everything besides EVE is enabled, so I believe I've installed EVE incorrectly (this was before changing the load order you suggested) I'd already installed the compatability patches I think, if you're talking about this?
Also mods that alter the HUD have to be put in a certain order or else it causes the game to crash after the splash screens.
so what order is that?
I don't actually know, I had to fiddle around with my mods a lot to get it to work and it just magically did. I am pretty sure it goes: Overhauls (MUTUI, DarnUI ect.), Regular mods that add hud elements (Weapon Overheating), OneHud (if you have it) and then Unified Hud Project. [editline]25th June 2013[/editline] tbh I don't really know. All I know is that some mods interfere with mods like Darn and Mutui and can cause them to get extremely confused on what takes priority and when you get to the main menu it doesn't know what fonts (edited interface elements) to display and causes it to crash sometimes.
but wait none of my mods actually affect the hud, do they? Unless EVE does [editline]25th June 2013[/editline] alriiiight I got it to load but I keep crashing to desktop every.. well, minute. Not even after anything, just running along and boom CTD [editline]25th June 2013[/editline] I know fallout 3 is a buggy piece of shit but every minute isnt normal
Holy shit yessssss http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/19129//? [editline]25th June 2013[/editline] Are you sure you are below them mod limit? [editline]25th June 2013[/editline] Also create a merged patch with FO3Edit
Also create a merged patch with FO3Edit
how do I do that [editline]25th June 2013[/editline] nevermind think I worked it out god help me im an idiot [editline]25th June 2013[/editline] ok nope it still crashes but now theres a merged patch in my mod list I have only a few mods, only the ones shown above
Do you use FOSE ? You probably should if you're not.
yeah at the top of the mod manager it says launch FOSE I honestly can't think of any possible solution beyond uninstalling and reinstalling the entirety of the mods [editline]25th June 2013[/editline] ok I think I solved the problem by turning around and walking away from the spot where I was consistently crashing turns out one certain cell just hated me and was gonna cause a CTD for no real reason

Considering I've never had issues with the former and a few with the latter, try disabling FWE for a bit.
disabling fwe and going back into that spot didnt change anything. It's definitely just this one specific spot - on the road to Fort Independence. [editline]25th June 2013[/editline] A lot of textures seem to be messed up - a brahmin had the texture of the megaton floor next to it, for example. Fuck it I'm sticking with new vegas- I crammed that full of mods and barely get any problems bar the occasional ctd in freeside
Hello, everyone. I have a question about FO:T and figured this would be the best place to ask. While doing the Peoria mission I got a log message stating that one of my characters was glowing, however there were no indications of radiation (I got the message in the hall before the first fission bat.) and the only stat effects are severely reduced armor rating and about -25% on all resistances. I have no indications of poison or radiation. I've tried everything: rad away, anti poison, field kits, doctor bags, chems; you name it, it has no effect. Does anyone know the cause of the affliction and/or the cure?
Do you need the MMM FWE Master Release? You already have MMM FWE Master Release + DLCs.
This is gonna sound dumb, but are you sure you don't have a 360 controller plugged in?
Extremely sure. I don't even own a chord for my 360 controllers.
Extremely sure. I don't even own a chord for my 360 controllers.
Ok, but do you have a cord for your 360 controllers?
Extremely sure. I don't even own a chord for my 360 controllers.
Do you own a wireless 360 controller?
So I open up New Vegas and [img_thumb]http://puu.sh/3oxPb.png[/img_thumb] And then night rolls around and [img_thumb]http://puu.sh/3oxRP.png[/img_thumb] [editline]26th June 2013[/editline] edit: This is not a graphics card problem, as it turns out. Somehow my Nevada Skies install corrupted itself and made this crazy shit happen. (my first clue was that the effect only happened at sunset :v:)
^at least your game started up.

Download ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated on the nexus. You need it for all mods changing textures (such as MMM) Issue is you installed very heavy mods that conflict with each other easily. And you missed some of the mandatory mods to have with them.

I've: downloaded the FOIP to make FWE and MMM play nice made sure the load order is right (afaik it is - I'm using whats listed on https://sites.google.com/site/fo3wanderersedition/installation#TOC-Compatiblity) I also tweaked the .ini for the core issue or whatever made a merged patch downloaded and activated archiveinvalidation invalidated is there anything else I should do?
I really want to play Fo3 again. but last time, i had a 100% critica crash chance diceroll at the overseers office. Did they change the ruleset yet?

Yep
Yep
Then open up the fallout.ini file in: My Documents\My Games\Fallout3 Find the line: bUseThreadedAI=0 change it to: bUseThreadedAI=1 Add another line after it and insert: iNumHWThreads=2 This will limit the game to 2 cores and prevent the engine bug from causing the game to freeze.
I did that earlier - before I installed the mods even. I seem to have solved it for the most part, however.
