Fallout Series Thread V14: When i entered this thread i was hoping there would be more gambling - Games

Probably won't happen, but i want more clothing slots so like, you can choose bottom half from this outfit, top half from that one... Also, more varied environments Fallout 3 was all desert with only point lookout and the oasis having green Fallout nv had tons of green and even a tiny amount of snow. I would love to see Fallout (4) to have maybe sandstorms, snowstorms hurricane type weather with horrendous rain and stuff like that.

I remember firing it up for the first time never having played a fallout game before and it got mysterious and sometimes scary at times.

New Vegas acctualy lets you decide which faction you want to join, in Fallout 3 you are forced to join one faction.

Both are fantastic, really.

I already guessed that people like New Vegas for most of its things but also like 3 for its atmosphere, but /v/ was doing its damndest to pretend that they're the ultimate patricians of Fallout taste and that only they care about New Vegas.

I prefer 3 because I like exploring more than the story. I considered playing Tale of two Wastelands, but I didn't have the NV DLC

I recognize that New Vegas is probably better just nearly all around but I can't help but love Fallout 3 for the simple nostalgia factor. I was young, I loved Oblivion, then FO3 came out after I had discovered the old Fallout games and I was just blown away by it.

Fallout 3 has an amazing world and atmosphere but bad writing. New Vegas has amazing writing and characterization but a terrible world design, at least from a gameplay standpoint. New Vegas also has various gameplay improvements over 3 merely from being a more recent game. At least that's how I see it.

I don't understand how people say Fallout 3 has better world design. 90% of the map is charred, barren, hills. Every town is a fucking mess, and the metro and majority of DC were a nightmare to navigate.
