Yeah, the shooting in general needs an overhaul pretty desperately. Bethbryo's Fallout games' weakest aspect was always the the shooting. It never felt like playing a real FPS. It always felt like playing a bad Elder Scrolls mod with guns thrown in. Fallout 3 and New Vegas (too a lesser extent) disappoint me for that reason; they aren't FPSs with RPG mechanics, they are RPGs with shooting mechanics. Hopefully Creation (or whatever they use next) will use updated mechanics to make the gunplay more exciting. And if not, I would still be excited for the jump because of the graphical upgrades and less buggy/crash-happy nature of the new engine. Skyrim crashes half as often with well over twice the mods. Still, I doubt we will get any of that. Bethesda has succeeded in pulling off amazing games in every installment, yet they always have the same issues as their predecessors. Bugs and glitches are chief among them. One of my bigger issues, upon replaying Fallout 3 and New Vegas, is that the settlements feel pint-sized. Megaton is supposed to be a major trading hub in the center of the wastes, and while it is the largest city in the game, that isn't saying much. Rivet City is a cramped, hard to navigate joke. Canterbury Commons, the center for all the caravans in DC, is 6 fucking dudes held up in some old storefronts who can't even fight off mock superheros. Tenpenny Tower and Underworld are alright; they are big enough to evoke the feeling of a decent sized settlement but not large enough to be taxing on the computer. Paradise Falls is supposed to be the slave capital of DC, but it is a shack of some 16 fucking yokels and maybe 5 slaves at most. It all just feels small and trimmed down, and so many concessions were made because of obvious engine and console limitations. Even DC being broken up was likely motivated in part by these limits (that and Bethesda's begrudging unwillingness to make a game without dungeons of some variety).
Now imagine if Bethesda used something like the Frostbite engine. I'd willingly sell my soul for Fallout 4 on an advanced engine that can handle whatever the devs throw at it.
I don't care about a new engine, I just want better gunplay and stability. Even when I played on the Xbox 360, it crashed/froze alot.
I'm not sure if I would sacrifice modability for the Frostbite Engine,

It's only two families, but apparently they contribute so much to trading that the caravans make sure Three Dog mentions it. I think they should have designed their cities so that there's parts you can see but not visit. Buildings in the skybox and that sort of thing. They did this with D.C. but the game doesn't actually have any settlements inside the city. It makes the world look bigger at no extra cost.

If they switched their engine at all, they should go with UE4. Cheap, looks nice, and its still moddable. The only problem is I don't know how great its open world capabilities would be compared to Creation. But I feel like if Bethesda put the effort into it, Creation could be better. Gamebryo and Creation Engine are best at two things; making massive, open RPG worlds, and being moddable to the point of self-destruction. Neither is a good sacrifice.

i thought UE4 was the one you have to pay $10k for.

I rather not have tons of inaccessible areas in an open world game.
i thought UE4 was the one you have to pay $10k for.
I think they're making the new UT a F2P but that's as far as I know about Epic these days
i thought UE4 was the one you have to pay $10k for.
who cares they would get more than 10k back from such an investment.
I can't even imagine a fallout fps existing anymore not on Gamebyro. It's been so long.
Well, Fallout 3 was running great until a shitty mod I had started fucking up the supermutants. Removing the mods have caused crash gallore, and they weren't even big mods or script-heavy mods. Yeah fuck it, if the next Fallout runs on Gamebryo or some variation of Gamebryo, I'm not buying.

Especially when your bullets can actually do damage and kill people in a few shots instead of 20 shots to the head. They've been using the same engine since they started developing Oblivion.

If we get lucky we can get lots of community tools to make the next game not glitchy, CTD riddled crack addict. That's what happened to Skyrim; once you get about 60 or so mods, your game starts to shit itself, but thankfully the community has come up with all kinds of fixes and tools to make it stable. Such a thing has not happened on that scale for New Vegas and 3. Although vanilla Creation engine still manages to crash less often than Gamebryo, that is a very, very fucking low bar.
Looks like he was visited by the gainz train
Good news then, it can be killed with a few nuka-colas [editline]1st September 2014[/editline] and just on the subject of game engines... They know and are fully aware that their games survive because of the PC modding community, they know as long as they allow people to mod their games they will continue to sell even way after any kind projected market estimate has been passed. they would be frankly idiotic to give that up.
Good news then, it can be killed with a few nuka-colas
Nuka-Cola is a pure and divine substance and it cannot possibly do any harm to anyone.
Sunset sarsaparilla > Nuka-cola search your heart, you know it to be true...

Managed to kill Lucius with his own Ballistic Fist. Don't know how you can shoot a gauntlet off someone's arm, but maybe That Gun is just That Good.
